Hi all! I am a lurker on this thread as I am just getting started on converting sl items, and i am so saddened that it had to end this way. This community has become so money hungry that it saddens me. I was so excited to start my journey in converting and excited to share, but now my heart is just sad. Thank you guys so much for not only sharing links but also sharing tutorials! They've helped me so much, and I hope that we're able to make a discord or something to be able to help others who would like to share or learn how to convert as well <3

prim count has nothing to do with blender (it's used in SL for when you upload your object onto the grid).

it most likely is an object with multiple pieces but one texture. you're going to have to either find the OBJ and use that or use L to select (linked) pieces and manually fit it on the texture map. or you can try baking it onto a new uv map.

i'm curious about the pattern because SL typically frowns upon name brand stuff or trademark in game (unless it's a licensed partnership). how did the creator get away with this or are you using your own texture on a SL mesh?

How would I bake it onto a new UV map ?

& I'm not sure how the creator got away with this. They have multiple bags that have the LV pattern on them.

I've joined two cc "chats" the last 24h, and both are being shot down. I 100% get why something have to be done, and our feelings isnt your problem at all but please consider it before you take this away from us regular people. We just need people to look up to, learn from and help elevate our game, and all this secrecy and chats for only "the trusted ones" that's being created all over the community is killing it. We don't have much choice tbh. The thing is, we don't own these meshes. They belong to the SL creators. It was (arguably) fine until someone try to make profit off it

Yeah, this happens to be my first conversion. Can't really translate the pictures but that's still pretty sad she would charge people for free conversions in general. Not only that but this comes with a couple issues still needing to be fixed. I was really trying to give her the benefit of the doubt but seeing this is a shame. MY OPINION: I wouldn't throw away the whole bunch over a few bad apples. We can't control every aspect of everything BUT we can limit it. Taking video's down and conversions down really gives people an easy market to sell. Just like IWITY/AriannaSimmer you have to literally contact her and personally pay her for a skin from her and some of her older skins were still leaked. People are shitty but if we do a more closed group or stay here count me in.
