I've been playing this game for a while and I have very much enjoyed it, but I am curious: is it possible to develop a cheat or something to allow for route-locked princesses to join you outside of that route?
I'm a bit of a completionist, and while having the Cinder Ribbons can give me some trophy, it isn't nearly as satisfying as the thought of every single recruitable princess in one room.

Using this save editor lets you edit the stuff in the game. When editing, go to the advanced tab, then switches/variables, go to switches and use the filter right below the tabs and search "bench", which will let you enable princesses to appear in the tavern (who can then join you) regardless of relationship or route restriction.
Make sure to put your save that you want to edit in the root of the game folder to be able to access the switches/variables and when you're done editing, put said save back in the save folder and you should be good to go.

On the southern part of the map there's a small cabin surrounded by trees, go there and the gallery can be accessed shortly after talking to the NPC there during the day.
If you do not mind losing the ability to gain achievements without any problems, go to the tavern and open your menu, go to the cheat section and type in "325698", which will give you an item to enter a cabin and view all the currently available animations.

Nice, thx for the answer.
I last played the "Frosty" Version and there the mermaid princess was not accessible only in a beta build.
Was testing to get to her in the newest version but havent found a way hence my question.

My apologies, I've basically been playing the betas instead of full releases since betas became a thing, so I assumed that she had always been accessable since she was implemented.

If you're carrying over saves - you might be bugged. Had to start a new save to properly get things going there. Essentially those blocked off paths aren't all blocked off initially. And I think if you visited on your old save before the betas, they're stuck in that state.
Could potentially be a way to bypass via save editing, but not sure.

Uff, that would be.....annoying since I have saves that clocks to 15-20 hours by now.
If thats really the case I guess I will give the game a very long pause since I am not up to play this much again just to see procentual small content.
An alternative to starting a fresh save is try New Game+. Since Towerfag pays more attention to that it's sometimes better than a fresh New Game.

Why would he pay more attention to new game plus? Isn't the premise to beef up the story and whose side you pick?

NG+ lets you keep

over a fresh start which lets you keep nothing at all. The game is also designed to be repeated over and over again.Laziness is the answer. He constantly adjust the New Game+ code since the fans are old and many don't like doing completely fresh starts. Though that does mean old sections of the game go neglected like the original startup code.
Surprisingly many variables will be set wrong in New Game but will get corrected in New Game+
So how do i triggenr the prince transformations in the new update i have the bell but using it on kobold princess doesnt work. (kobold is stated to have a prince form in the patch notes.)

You can't actually transform them yet. It's if you have the Cardinal Bell in your inventory when you go to fuck them, it will add there prince animation to the ones you can select from. Hope that makes sense.
