you are not the only one.
you can prevent this from happening by shutting down the brothel (bad solution, i know)
you probably also get an error when trying to manage the brothel

Anyone with Merchant issues (errors): This is most likely due to high levels. Events are randomly generated and based off of your levels, or at least they were months ago when I last looked at the dev's work. Dunno if fixed, but it appears not. Nothing you can do except wait.
DRM as in some protection to prevent extraction and modification of things in the game. ***
The game is merely thrown into an installer, nothing else unusual about it. Plenty of Steam Ren'Py games like that except the installer in those cases is Steam. Good behavior on the 'no random executables/scripts'. This is another reason why I removed the DRM and unpacked the game so it could be examined (it is safe, even mmaker (DRM)).Man, reading all the previous comments and I really wonder why this game is made like this.
I do not know anything about programming but having a Ren'py based game packaged as a 'click-me' *exe file?
And all kinds of dependency on DRM Windows tricks?
There is probably a very good reason for all of this but for now I give this game a pass (there is just something in my head that says that you really shouldn't start an *.exe file you just downloaded via an obscure internet forum..
Too bad, it sounds like an actual game, instead of the 9999st 'Visual Novel' here.
Not being able to find an ini with a non-DRM version means the game is missing files OR mmaker is not running behind the scenes (executed internally by game) because it has been either deleted or disabled by your AV (or in some other way incapacitated). Nothing to do with pass-through or VMs or anything. Grab a clean copy, keep an eye on WinDefend. Enterprise, can disable WinDefend and almost all of the spying and junk. Requires a bit of trickery to get things properly firewalled because of a long-standing 'can't firewall threads separately from executables' but heh...

If you mean the regular Ren'Py console, edit .//renpy/common/00console.rpy and change config.console = False to config.console = True and press Shift+O when running the game. Careful, the code behind this game is not very forgiving. You can easily break things...a bit worse than Skyrim. Be aware that opening the console can remove you from any dialogues or games, so it is best done on a screen with no interactive communications or events (such as characters). Maybe go home to do that.
All fun and game until i started getting shit tons of error, probably after the reputation on the "club" got increased.
Can't manage it anymore as it generates more errors, which can be ignored(pops up 5 times each day or so).
End line is KeyError: u'merchant'.

I think i may have skipped somethings major or am just too stupid for this game ... xD
I have completed the "Tutorial Quest" and the "gain a political advisor"quest.
now i am running around,but it seems i have talked to everyone i have met and talked about everything that is selectable, but i have not the slightest idea how to progress further.
my log says "build up notaribility in roma".
sadly i cant find a guide, walkthrough or first steps too.
would some1 be so kind and point me a finger? ;-)

A guess here, no more content currently after that? Someone else would have to confirm, I just remove DRM from games for kicks.
that would be strange, the old versions state it would go on till a got my first slave girl, but i didnt even get to my borthel in the first place xD

At the start, you are actually not in Rome. Select Travel and then on the smaller map select Roma.

Because the icons for the charcters are all in that one region you start, it never came to my mind that other reagions might be clickable. Well, thanks again.

I am not sure if it is complete, or if it is possible to get the fifth slave in this version.
My Save: with 4 well-trained slaves. Fasti, Parmida, Inka and Maeve.
Social, rethoric, ilicio in the maximum training value of that version.
Bordello mediocre. Apparently the highest possible reputation in this version. Above that (not soo bad reputation), the errors begin.
If you go to BATHS and create a sucessfull rumor to improve bordello's reputation, the game errors starts.
