It is an image compositing error (there are several throughout the game). Attached is a quick fix for it (I spent less than a minute testing locally and it seemed to work fine).

Unzip into your game folder (where the .exe is), so that the .rpy file ends up in the top level of the game folder. That should fix the problem for you.

Hey man, I'm playing through your ren'py version of Rick and Morty: Another Way Home and I thought I'd let you know it's amazing. You are a fantastic developer. Only half way through now but it really is the definitive way to play it. Thanks for making such an amazing game. I'm playing it with this on loop in the background:
