Overview:
Life is Vanilla is an adult visual novel that tells the story of a young man navigating his late teens and early twenties, drawing from real-life experiences blended with fiction. Inspired by shows like How I Met Your Mother, the game focuses on humor, light-hearted storytelling, and character development as the protagonist learns about relationships, confidence, and finding his place in life. The prologue introduces the main character at 18, a virgin exploring the awkward and humorous journey toward losing his virginity. Along the way, players will witness many of his comical mistakes, learn from his experiences, and enjoy optional "spicy" scenes created purely for entertainment.
While the story is based on real-life events, details such as names, locations, and professions have been changed to protect the identities of those involved. Optional adult content has also been added to enhance the experience.​

I'm close to subscribing for her alone, but from my experience with other games:

- she's just bait that won't be in the game
- she'll be in update 0.8243, so in about 5 years
- the game will be abandoned before her turn comes

Correct you are! It is the tool I was most familiar with and since I want to focus more on animations moving forward, I think it will be a nice balance between character realism and easy to animate, as I have never touched DAZ before in my life... maybe in the future.

Yes, this is the initial release with just a prologue that I created while testing the tools around, and getting familiar, but I'm happy with the results. How I meet Your Mother is a great comedy, not sure how close I can get to it, but I feel like I'm improving on my writing skills.

The main idea that is similar to the show, is to explore how many different things someone can do (and who you can do) before meeting the one!

It is what I'm working now tbh! I was new to Ren'py when started the development, and since I wanted to post it for Christmas I didn't had time to implement it. But I will collect as much feedback as I can for the next update .

The prologue will have barely any choices, the real content I envision for the game starts with the next chapter, allowing the player to make more choices, decide where to go next, who to go after first.

As a fellow F95 follower for a few years, I totally understand! I forgot the count of how many different projects I follow, check for updates and then look at the last update being over 2 years ago .
I will be working on more updates, as I have a full vision of what the game will look like. The only thing that can stop me are really unforeseen events.
Feel free to check this thread again in a few months to see if the content has improved and if there is enough story to earn your trust. Meanwhile any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Also feel free to follow the free tier if you want to, I'll be posting polls, news and some extra pictures from the development.
