Living the dream...
Better make the most of every moment 'cause you never know what might happen tomorrow... especially with the uncertainty of not knowing what Mother’s planning.

Little details no one would probably notice unless you point them out... but they matter to me...

This is the second time I’ve had to redo this same image. The original one was rendered in sections — no way I could render it normally with my old GTX 1050... This second version is the remake, done because the original was slightly out of focus, and it also gave me a good excuse to test out the new graphics card...

Yesterday, while checking that everything was in order, I realized this is the only old image where a new corner of the fortress shows up — but it’s not actually there... Maybe no one would’ve noticed, but I did, so I had to redo it again... This is the new version.

And the next part is definitely something purely artistic — only a really sharp eye would normally catch it... A lot of my newer images have this grainy touch, and it’s totally intentional. It’s called ‘noise’ and I always add it in post. The first one is the original, flat image... the second one is the final version.

Today’s the day I finish rendering the new version. Next up is coding and testing...

A quick look at a few new lines of code... Programming with RenPy is pretty easy, especially when most of it is just dialogue like in the screenshot.

Or it might look like a total nightmare... depends on your taste.

Tired but happy. I think that pretty much sums up the life of most devs on F95 when they drop a new update...

Today was 'release' day... curious what this is all about? Well, even if no one cares, here I go...

I finished the final touches on the code last night. After that, comes testing... because I’m not gonna let others do what’s supposed to be my job. So I went over all the new stuff (over an extra hour and 40 minutes) by playing through it...
After all the checks, it was time to compile and make the builds for release. In my case: PC, MAC, and now Android too. I also double-checked the Android version, since it’s not exactly the same as the PC one and you gotta make sure there aren't any issues with text size and stuff like that.
Ended up going to bed after 3 a.m.

Shortly after waking up, I started uploading the files to 3 different hosts, which basically means uploading 9 copies of the game. One of the hosts I always use (GoFile) was acting up at the time, so I said screw it and made an account on another one... there’s always something going wrong.
While the files were uploading, I had to work on the Changelog. I had something drafted already, but it wasn’t fully done—and I also had to translate it into English, since I speak Spanish... On top of that, I had to make the Patreon post. All that took over two hours, not even counting what I did earlier in the middle of the night.

You’d think that was it, but nope—still more to do. There’s another platform I use (oppaiman), and I basically have to redo everything there too... Upload all the files directly, make a new post, even do a couple special renders just for that site... That ate up another hour and a half.
And nope, still not done, haha. I still had to update my game thread here on F95 (maybe someone will magically subscribe). It’s not the official release, just a little notice that the update’s been released, in case someone feels like checking out my Patreon. The full free release here will be in 30 days.

And now finally everything’s done... To relax, I figured I’d come post this... lol

That’s what a launch day looks like for a small-time dev. :HideThePain:

These last few days have been pretty "interesting", to say the least... I downloaded something I definitely shouldn’t have and ended up having to format everything, and got hacked too. The formatting part wasn’t too bad, I’ve got decent backups, and whatever wasn’t backed up can either be re-downloaded or redone.

The hacking part was a whole different story. That one really scared me. My Patreon account vanished for over 24 hours. Then it just came back out of nowhere. I’m guessing it was some kind of automated thing from Patreon because of suspicious activity… Still no response from their support team, though, even after my emails.

The attacks seem to have stopped. I changed all the passwords for the important stuff, and anything else I just said screw it and let it go.

Now I’m back on track, working on the next update (version 0.6).

Moral of the story: don’t be an idiot. Never download stuff from outside your usual, totally safe sources—especially not on your work computer.

Well, now that everything finally went smoothly and there are no more issues, I decided to celebrate with a 33% discount starting right now... so go for it :p

It's only for 10 days...

But hey, while I’m at it...
With all this reformatting and having to redo some stuff, I was using DAZ 4.21 before, and now I’m on DAZ 4.24... and I swear there’s something different about how lights are handled. Something that makes things look a bit more natural.
I was working on a scene and decided to make the following image just as a sample. It’s exactly how it came out of DAZ, no edits at all, zero post-processing.

At least something good came out of all this.

People can say whatever they want about the game, but they’ll never be able to say I don’t pay attention to stuff most people don’t even notice. How many have you seen spending time on proper posture when doing something as basic as holding a spoon or a fork? How many have you seen playing around with facial expressions?
