3D Games or lack thereof

As you can see, some VN developers get defensive when you tell them that they aren't real game devs.
VN devs deserve some recognition for what the do, but they aren't geme devs.
They should get "VN Developer" badges instead, or perhaps "Jr. Game Dev"
These VN devs admit that they can't make games, all they can do is pictures, and that's fine.
Being a VN dev is something you can be proud of, even if you can't step it up to the next level.

If you can't run with the big dogs, stay on the porch.

I'll fault the OP for phrasing it the way that they did, for the confrontation.
If OP had said "We need more real 3D Games!!!" perhaps there would be less hurt feelings, and VN devs crying about what they can't do.

I was really hopeful that with everyone stuck at home because of the CV Pandemic, some of the great devs out there would be pumping out updates more frequently.

What kind of backwrds logic is that?

Not even mentioning that some of those devs still have jobs that require them to go in there are others that work from home. The world hasn't stopped for Corvid.

Those devs that are home also have families that are home.

Just because they can't work doesn't mean they have more free time.

I can't wait to see what 3D porn games can be in the future, but as of now its not a good vehicle for erotic storytelling because it can't do it well from a cost perspective. You'd need voice acting and tons of custom animation, and for now these 3D games feel lacking and sandbox-y, compared to 2D games or non-porn AAA 3D games titles. Better to focus on engines that better convey a story within these constraints.
