I'm guessing the size difference is due to the bitrate. I think the higher the bitrate, the more data there is when interpolating/upscaling/downscaling. I'm not sure what hardware and software settings those guys doing the upscaling are using, but more bitrate = better it seems in these parts of the forums.I honestly cannot tell the difference between the 60fps on this archive and the 30 I uploaded in terms of quality LOL. There IS a significant size difference though.
Also, I found that setting Media Player Classic to run videos in individual windows and running two vids simultaneously makes me see the difference better.
This also the reason why it took me so long to go through my archive. I had to watch the "meatier" parts of the vids to see the difference, especially in the motions and movements. It was really hard to concentrate
