Hello all,
I am a currently working on a corruption game centered around an adult woman named Natalia [may be changed] This game is heavily inspired from the following title: Downfall
While my game can never match the quality of the character and story of that game, I am trying to make something about what I have in mind for a corruption game.
As for the MC, she is going through a dark phase in her life and this is where the game begins. She was at a her prime in her career but now has been forced to settle with something she never had to before. As for her art, these are the test renders I have in mind for her:
Without glasses: Regular outfit -
Without glasses: Test outfit -
With glasses: Test outfit -
Also a talk on corruption mechanics:
I am looking at the corruption mechanic on a more psychological standpoint so I have charted out a DESPERATION mechanic for my game and here is how it works -
According to a certain event in her life, my MC has undergone a huge negative change in her life and is looking for a desperate solution to her problems. However her morale actively rejects some things that she finds shameful or negative to do. There are two ways to play the game.
1. If the player plays the game with minimal open world exploration, the player experiences the standard corruption route for the MC. (avoidable ofcourse)
2. If the player playes the game with good open world exploration, the player will experience a more DESPERATE corruption mode. (unavoidable at a certain point but workaround routes for those extra quests will be done.)
How desperation works?
During the early chapter of the game, the MC accumulates DESPERATION points each day. (These points reset everyday)
The MC gains one point of desperation via a random open world/main story event. These events might range from a simple conversation among different NPCs in the world or via direct player interations with the NPC. (e.g: my MC is facing a financial problem in her life [I know quite generic but still it works sometimes], if the MC hears a conversation of NPCs talking something about money, payments, debt etc, her psyche will be disturbed and she will be reminded of the URGENCY of her problem. This urgency gives one point.) Reaching a certain desperation point cap in a day might unlock certain desperation quests/events wherein the MC does something that she normally does not do. This might open up a new path for corruption.
Anyways, this mechanic I am still testing, not sure how it sounds for now. Anyhow, if you have any suggestions or scenarios in mind please PM me.
Thanks!
P.S: If you have any suggestions on the MC model, I am open to hear them!
