Big Rooster , i really miss the blind man and his wife series
well... let's see what I can do about that...
The files are saved but think I was using some different base models for Nat, that's an easy fix tho ;)
in the mean time, Nat's new place has a pool.
AND of course Jenna insisted she should hire a hunky pool boy to keep it clean, and of course, she had someone special in mind! Nat & ThePoolGuy[1807231100w].png

BlindMan short story

Blindman was a man with a secret. He was married to a beautiful woman named Nat, but he knew that she was cheating on him. He didn't mind. In fact, he kind of enjoyed it.

Blindman was blind, but his other senses were heightened. He could hear Nat's footsteps as she came and went from his apartment, and he could smell the cologne of the men she was with. He even enjoyed watching her from the window as she went on dates.

One day, Blindman met Nat's lover, a man named Darrell. Darrell was a friendly and outgoing guy, and he and Blindman quickly became friends. They would often go out for drinks together, and Blindman would even tell Darrell about Nat's cheating.

Darrell was shocked at first, but he eventually came to accept Blindman's situation. He even helped Blindman come to terms with it.

"It's okay," Darrell said. "You don't have to be jealous. Nat loves you, even if she's not always faithful."

Blindman realized that Darrell was right. He didn't need to be jealous. He had Nat, and that was all that mattered.

The three of them continued to be friends, and Blindman even came to see Darrell as a brother. He was grateful for Darrell's support, and he knew that he would never have been able to come to terms with Nat's cheating without him.

Scene: BlindMan and Nat are sitting at the kitchen table.

BlindMan: So, how was your date with Darrell?
Nat: It was great! We went to the movies and then out to dinner.
BlindMan: That sounds lovely. What did you see at the movies?
Nat: We saw that new romantic comedy. It was really funny.
BlindMan: I'm glad you had a good time.
Nat: Me too. Darrell is such a great guy.
BlindMan: I'm glad you think so. I've always liked him.
Nat: He's so kind and funny. And he's really good to me.
BlindMan: I'm glad to hear that.
Nat: I know you were worried about me at first, but I promise I'll be careful.
BlindMan: I know you will. I just want you to be happy.
Nat: I am happy. I'm happier than I've ever been.
BlindMan: That's all I ever wanted.
Nat: Thank you, BlindMan.
BlindMan: For what?
Nat: For letting me date Darrell.
BlindMan: You're welcome. I just want you to be happy.
Nat: I am happy. And it's all because of you.
BlindMan: I'm glad.
Nat: I love you, BlindMan.
BlindMan: I love you too, Nat.
Nat: (kisses BlindMan on the cheek)
BlindMan: (smiles)
Nat: (gets up and starts to leave)
BlindMan: Where are you going?
Nat: I'm going to call Darrell and tell him all about our date.
BlindMan: Okay. Have fun.
Nat: I will.
(Nat leaves the room. BlindMan smiles and shakes his head.)
BlindMan: (to himself) I'm so glad I let her date Darrell. He's a good man for her.
(BlindMan finishes his coffee and gets up from the table. He walks over to the window and looks out.)
BlindMan: (to himself) I'm so happy for her. She deserves to be happy.
(BlindMan smiles and turns away from the window. He walks out of the room.)

Nat: Darrell, I'm so glad you're here. I've been so lonely since Blindman lost his sight.
Darrell: I know, baby. I've been here for you every step of the way.
Nat: I know, and I appreciate it more than you know.
Darrell: I love you, Nat.
Nat: I love you too, Darrell.
Darrell: I've been wanting to do this for a long time.
Nat: Me too.
Darrell: (kisses Nat)
Nat: (kisses Darrell back)
Blindman: (listening in) I can hear you two.
Nat: (to Blindman) We're just talking, honey.
Blindman: (to himself) I know what you're doing.
Nat: (to Darrell) Don't worry about him. He's just happy that I'm happy.
Darrell: I'm glad he's happy.
Nat: (to Darrell) I love you.
Darrell: I love you too, Nat.
Blindman: (to himself) I love you too, Nat.
Nat: (to Blindman) I love you too, honey.
Darrell: (to Blindman) I'm glad you're happy, man.
Blindman: (to Darrell) Thanks, man. I'm glad you're here for Nat.
Darrell: I'll always be here for her.
Blindman: Good. I'm glad to hear that.
Nat: (to Darrell) I'm so glad you're here.
Darrell: I'm glad I'm here too, baby.
Nat: I love you.
Darrell: I love you too, Nat.
Blindman: (to himself) I love you too, Nat.
The conversation continues as Nat and Darrell make love, while Blindman listens in, content to know that his wife is happy.

The most important for Daz are the number of CUDA cores and the amount of VRAM. RTX 40 series are great but they are designed to enhance 4k gaming and the displays, which were lacking on the RTX 30 series so a decent RTX 30 series GPU is more than enough for Daz especially as the 3090 has come down in price, some with over 18000 cores and 24Gb VRAM for desktop. The most difficult part is finding the right balance between CPU, RAM and the GPU to make it less onerous than it should be.
For Daz crashes I suggest deleting DS (keep the library ofc) and reinstalling an older more stable version.
Hope you don't mind I am replying to this over here so we don't get shit deleted for off-topic.

I was thinking RTX 40 series specifically for the VRAM and processor. I was not aware the 30 series had comparable memory and power. It is the VRAM that is killing me. I had a recent discussion with tech support there that told me I need to limit the Iray preview use, set up the scene, check it quickly with iray if needed, then save and exit. Restart and reload to render only. That was their suggestion for memory management. Of course, I use scene optimizer (although I will admit that I am a damn newb, and a lot of the options fly over my head).

On another note, the comic style that is added to the renders, is that done in PS?

I use GIMP for post-processing because it's freeware instead of PS and I'm a cheapskate. KingB was using hand-drawn outlines because he was a newb at rendering too.
As far as hardware, DAZ can't deal well with multiple figures (much over 3-4) without major degrading. It's a inherent software deficiency from what I've read. Nvidia cards starting with the 10xx series can do a decent when you respect their VRAM limits, but they are slower. The main thing is more VRAM capacity, the 24GB on the RTX3090/RTX4090 would be a dream!

If I had stupid money, of course, I would go for the A6000. But that is ridiculous. I am not a professional studio. I think the RTX4090 will do a great job. Now, I have to grow the balls to pull the trigger and buy it.

I've not tried layered imaging yet. But the scene I am working on has 6 or 7 characters in a single shot. I think I can let go of wanting to have 100% accurate shadows and lighting bouncing off all the subjects and surfaces. I have not been able to get the scene to work so far.

if you are not into playing the latest 4K games on a 4K display a RTX4090 would be overkill. most Renpy games are
made using 1920x1080

Specifically for Daz you won't find much difference in rendering time between the 40(90) and the 30(90) series. Of course there will be benefits with the newer RTX in other aspects like 4k gaming or loading times and most reviews focus on the gaming advantages of the 4090 so it's a difficult choice. Like I said, look at the CUDA cores and VRAM for Daz.
IMO if you're changing your whole system, then the 4090 looks to be the better buy. If you're building or buying a rig specially for Daz then the 30 series still has a lot to give at a lower price point, especially if you want to monetize your purchase by developing games...etc.
I have a 3050 that i use regularly with daz 4.16, it takes 4 times longer to render than the 4090 and I have to use scene optimizer or delete non visible assets to make it less painful. The end result is the same in terms of quality (increase number of iterations and time limit first) but I'm not a pro so I'm not bothered.
BUT if I were you I'd get a whole new rig with the 4090 and a high performance CPU, 64GB RAM and powerful PSU. Otherwise I fear that anything else will leave doubts and you may find yourself getting the 4090 after trading in your rig.
Post work is very easy with PS. GIMP is also good for hobbyists.
