What we need is "Search Tags" & "Veto Tags", search tags for people trying to find content, and Veto Tags for those trying to avoid any hint of specific content.

The problem still remains, you never know to what extent any given tag is present in a game until you try playing it.

I can't stand NTR, but I love this game. Because while it has NTR, it's very easily enitrely avoidable. So when searching games, I never block that tag. The only tags I actually have blocked on the search are tags that are fundmental parts of their respective games. Real Porn, and Text Based. There's no lesser or greater with them. But with many other tags, you never know how present they are or if they can be avoiding completely.

Even searching the games thread to see what people are saying can be a headache in itself to find out how a game handles various tags.

no man I mean tags that are purely for Search or Veto
People who want Bestiality don't want a game with only one photo shopped image so wouldn't enter it as a "Search Tag", while people trying to avoid it would enter it as a "Veto Tag".
Context is Key, the two lists need to be unique to the context it is being used for.

I guess It is difficult to set a tag, we have a Tag criteria page with the definitions why the games are tagged,
even so you find a lot of heated arguments and you realize that the tags about content often don't match the personal criteria of the respective poster because he has a different feeling, tolerance, perception about it.
and here is the Point jan^s has a point with his sugestion to stucture the tags by relevance, the thing is that the Tags have to be very wide and often are not acurate, they are just a Tool for the user to decide if he dwnl the game or not
and how S1nsational , pointed out with the sci fi monster example, all to often you read a frustrated and angry user because the game don't match his critera, I personally welcome the games where the Dev, in coments speaks a bit about the planned tags

Sorry - but I lost the Save file I used for 0.7 Walkthur. And haven't had the time to recreate it. If someone has a save thur 0.7 (i.e. what the walkthur covered) I can use to create a 0.8 Walkthur. Assuming liked and used the 0.7 one of course.

I don't know which games in perticular you're talking about, but I'd like to remind you that not all games are made by Americans. So the Devs aren't going to create events for something they themselves don't celebrate. Halloween and Christmas are a lot more common and widespread

I think Halloween and Christmas are just more thematic. You've got magic and monsters, decorations and costumes.
There's a lot to work with. Thanksgiving is really just a family dinner. Not saying you couldn't do something with that, it's just not as... showy. Plus with the magic and monsters it makes a non-cannon event make more sense that it's not cannon.

That said there are lots holidays that you could make an event for that could be cannon.

New Years has the that winter vibe, booze, and mistletoe.
Valentines day has lots of romantic date potential. Even in a harem setting you can do the classic sitcom trope of trying to go on a date with two+ women with out any of them finding out about the other girls.

Then you have Mothers Day. Which has an enormous amount of options in an incest harem game imo.



But at the end of the day a developer has to be economical with what they work on. At best you might get one holiday event a year from them. So it's a small wonder they'd pick the most popular and fun holidays to do.

I know this and understand. But every society has something "similar" to thanksgiving all I was questioning was why are there are not more special events centered around them, American or otherwise. It might open people to new cultures and expand their would views.
I wouldn't care if it was some hindu chanting in a temple; sprinkle some sex, add a pinch of the local cuisine bake in some story or mythos within boom you now have a special event centered around the Parvati. Just now looking up Parvati I have learned something about another culture I had not known before.
