she's written as a spoiled brat. you'd be surprised how many guys barely tolerate that sort of personality, be it IRL or in games. they're usually used as cautionary tales or stories of unimaginable growth.
or are you talking about her being a furry? again, you'd be sorely mistaken. less than 1% of men are into that. we're talking anthropomorphized animals, not simple animals. kind of a big difference there.
can I bother you to give a link to where you got that percentage from?

And judging by how little feedback I got saying Megan is insufferable, 2-5% is still an exaggeration of the number of players who dropped the game because of her. Maybe the number of players that don't like her is more than 2-5%, but as I said... She isn't written to be very likable.

Megan is a refreshing character, she gives off the spoiled teenager vibe. It is different from the other characters. All the characters are unique. I do have one question what happened to her ears and tail it made her adorable in her human form.

The enforcement is somewhat uneven. If you are unlucky, you catch Steam‘s eye. Then your game get’s reviewed. One bad reviewer (person working for Steam) can decide to ban your game and even if he made the wrong decision, you can‘t appeal or argue.

He was saying that, for now, Furry love is still allowed on Steam. But it only takes one bad review for Steam to ban your game. Not that it HAD happened. But that it only takes one TO do it.

it's the same thing with the approval process for steam, it's fucking shite. You'll be denied for the most arbitrary reasons and there's no real appeal process for any of it. One and done.

People bitch about Patreon a lot, but you can actually reason with them. Some games came back there that I though would never return. If you follow their rules, you are normally fine there. If you mess up, you can even fix it.
That does no seem to happen with Steam. You try to follow there rules but that does not always work.
Someone complains about you, and you can be entirely screwed. Then you are done forever.
Steam will ban you as a developer and not an individual game.
Steam just takes the easiest route. Ban first and never look back.

Steam bans games and not developers. That‘s what happened with me and Playing With Fire. I was able to publish A Foreign World without a problem.

Steam's ban wave earlier this year was due to payment processors. Before, I had never heard of a ban that I couldn‘t understand. The principle was that they don‘t want underage content, and they‘ll throw the net so wide that none go through by accident. If you didn‘t walk the line, you were clear.

Then, due to pressure from payment processors, they banned incest and other stuff they were usually okay with. But also not all games with this content. Sisterly lust is still up. Man of the house is still up… So that‘s why I said their enforcement is uneven. It depends on the reviewer (and probably how successful your game is)

Ten more Dev update and we are in heaven...

Honestly I was tempted to just end the Dev update after this first sentence, but I'm pretty sure my audience wouldn't laugh as loud as me. It's hard to be a genius in a world full of haters.

*mic drop*

Now that I got the jokes out of my system, how about I tell you some good news. The last update, episode 7.6, went relatively well. There was only one game breaking bug, and I patched it out pretty quickly. Since the update is out on Steam, the first guys that gather achievements tickle in. Seems like a solid 1% of players have played the game since ep.7.6 came out.

Don't ask me if that's a good number. There has been no new content, so it's what should be expected. What did you think about the update? I think it was necessary, but I'm sure some of you would have wished I'd spent my time on Episode 8.

I explained it in the patch notes of ep.7.6. I felt helpless writing the next update because too many things had stacked up that needed fixing. And now that these things have been sorted out, I'm back to writing ep.8.

*nervous author noises*

Actually, I started writing it from scratch, but trust me... It's so worth it. This is some of my best writing yet. I'll find out eventually if you guys agree.

We are at 3,700 words, for those of you that are interested. I have no idea how much of the next update that is. I kind of lost track of what scenes are still missing. I'll also need to create a couple of animations, so this update will still take a bit.

IM SORRY SENPAI please don't look at me so disapointed.

Did you really believe two jokes would be enough to get this out of my system. I would need to write a post as long as lord of the rings before I stop joking around.

I also have some good new. Well, good personal new. Last week I took the time and wrote my bachelor thesis. I probably shouldn't be celebrating too early, I need to polish it up and there is still a presentation... But after that I have my degree.

Not to get sentimental on you, but I started this Patreon right around the time I started my studies. At that point we still had corona, and people were forcing vaccines down the throat of young man that didn't need them. Heard immunity that never really settled in, lock downs, and finally some peace of mind since even in the supermarkets nobody invaded my comfort zone. 10 o'clock curfew legislated by the government.

Good times...

The image that comes with this post is part of the first animation I created for Episode 8. It's not too hard to guess what it is about, or is it?
