Does anyone know what happened?
Reading through the Pixelprodukt twitter, some combinaton of creative burnout and Overwatch.
The last update to the blogspot was on Dec 5, 2016, talking about big plans and ditching the monthly (small) updates for more infrequent large updates.
Also in 2017 the twitter has a very spotty amount of posts (like only 7 that year in total).
They probably hit burnout, and people not sticking around on patreon without getting monthly updates made it hard to keep making a game that wasn't selling. =(

Probably. But devs need to learn that sometimes you need to actually finish a game to get paid, and your passion will be noticed by those who matter. People are getting sick of paying for hopes and dreams when it comes to early access games and other than a few devs, many of the adult game makers struggle a lot their first few titles. It takes time to build up a fanbase, to get your name out there as a trusted, dependable game maker. The game as it is right now, to put it bluntly, is a tech demo. It's really as basic as it gets. I wouldn't have paid a dime for it, and I beat the whole thing in about 1/2 hour. It's got some cute ideas, but it's not worth the harddrive space as it stands.
