I am not sure whether they outshine Rae, but I think there are a few points in their favor: they are conventionally attractive types (petite blonde, redhead), they are more in need of a leading figure than the rest of the cast which makes MC the clear boss in the relationship, they satisfy the "unexperienced virgin" kink.
Not "most" but quite a few, yes.
While I am in the same boat of preferring more content to a quick release (no pun intended, or was it?), of course one can easily simulate that by skipping a few updates before picking up again. A couple of games I only pick up every other year or so after the changelogs convinced me there should be enough development now.
That's ... quite early in the game. Lyriel goes through some development over time, many doubters became lovers with her, so maybe you want to give it another shot.

You basically play as a magical extra-dimensional kidnapper who planeswalks to various locations in order to "inadvertently" and "uncontrollably" uh... "collect" various females in his pocket dimension so you can have sex with them in a sort of breeding experiment.
Or at least that's one way to interpret it.

The whole thing with them for this update is a weird dream-like sequence and Rae's got some beachball-sized tits from the alchemy experiment again. They honestly don't fit her (pun not intended). It's kinda weird.

I wanted to wait out a few updates, and not take the EA ones out of respect and patience, but damn, if you don't regularly nab the updates, there's no patches anymore.
Or maybe there would be a chain of patches again come next month, who knows.

Soo most of my thoughts..that don't matter.
The MC is an idiot and a wimp, like in most other f95 games.
If he at least showed a bit of backbone occasionally, and brains..it would help.
Rae. She's a succubus...so basically a whore. They seemingly spent a lot of time in the
beginning ignoring this fact so we could all fall in love w her. At some point they decided
to remind us that she is a whore and start telling the MC about all her past sexual encounters.
(Not something I want to discuss w a LI in real life...so why in a game?) I always figured
they did that to encourage more feelings toward the other girls. All I know is it just kind
of grossed me out some toward Rae.
Naomi. Selfish pirate. I can't stand reading or listening to pirate talk. It just really grates on my
nerves. She is also extremely selfish and basically a bully. (I know..it goes along w her being a pirate.)
Blair never stood a chance since she talks like a pirate as well. Can't stand it and skipped her material when
I could. Unfortunate because she could have been fun, I think..maybe...
Yona, they never gave her much of a chance. I think they might have released her by accident as they then just stuck
her in a room and didn't give her any content for quite a while. I like her though and was glad when they finally
did involve her some even though they kept her personality extremely dry.
Lyriel is a stuck up snobbish bitch. I don't like women like that irl so most certainly don't in a game. I don't even care
why she's such a bitch.
Cait was cute w her shyness for a bit but after 80 or 90 updates of the same thing it got really tiresome so can't
stand her now.
Been a long time since I've played. I downloaded some of the updates last year but never really played them much.
So, things could have changed....but last I played they talked about a string breaking....That was about the only story progression in a Long time... It's just small scenes about the characters and not moving the overall story forward.

You know its still funny af how much lyriel has grown to me since her introduction. She was so annoying back then but now she's essentially a contender for number 1 against freaking Rae. How tf?!

I've played the game years ago at it's "beginning" and enjoyed it quite a lot. But at some point I grew tired of the gameplay loop, as it really felt like a.. loop.
Is there even really something going on ? Story progressing ? Are we leaving this damn house ?
Or is it just > "dream" > "accidentally" pull a girl in > "learn" to know her > repeat.
Because so far that's what it felt like, and nothing much going on. Just bring as much women to the house as possible and f them all ! And.. nothing else really. Dream meet fuck dream meet fuck dream meet fuck. Oh yeah, eventually get out of the house for ~10 min every 3 hours.
I've tried around 3 times to hop back on the game and go again but the sandbox is horrendous and even with full skipping it's a real pain.

It will depend on what you call progress. No, we are not leaving the house yet - that would most certainly be the end of the game. The "pull in" has continued but is ended now, the cast is complete. The story about "how to leave the house" is progressing, as are some individual storylines of the girls, but not exactly with a Usain Bolt speed.
But the sandbox is the same as always and most probably will stay for the rest of the game, so if you didn't like it back then you'd probably still be struggling now.
