Yeah I'm of the opinion that the battle fuck scenes in this are a good part of the game. [...]
To each there own, but if you're playing this (and the dev's previous game) for meaningful writing/characters I think you're just in the wrong place. [...]
The dev's entire writing approach is just having fun with it. Which isn't a bad thing because it's working, but I'd fundamentally disagree with you if you'd call this game deep/meaningful. I mean I just booted it up and my last save was literally in "The town of Cumassbenis."
Pretty much. Also remember that anything worth doing is worth doing poorly, as I read once. Which in short means, if you have a good idea and it's so good you
absolutely should do it, do not get caught up on perfectionism of trying to do everything right all at once. This game has great parts to it. "Meaningful relationships" is not one of them. There are visual novels that focus on "meaningful relationships". Some VNs are even highly rated, like
The Survival of Sarah Rose. Granted I've not tried it yet, but story is strong there so if you want story
theyakuzi, try it out.
Although FYI, this game does have some significant characters, they're just not frequently encountered. The tall bandit lady you meet early on is encountered later and you have the option to
spare her. There's a lady in the first town whom you help
take down the corrupt mayor. The doctor who made you of course is significant, and you'll try to save him. The primary antagonist lady yet is also significant. Yet they don't have to be in your face all the time - they're significant to the plot. Kinda like the popular factoid that the main antagonist of the movie
The 6th Element never actually meets the hero.
So maybe you mean partner NPCs in your turn-based RPG? That's Roxanne for now and she has significant story too. Do you mean more of those? Well, exactly 1 at any given time is accurate to Fallout and also wise since this game lets you steamroll hard anyway. Although you can try one of those strategy games akin to Fire Emblem for that kind of thing, like
Tactics Elemental. Significant choice there, too.
