Can not progress after Maria gets the blowtorch. can`t go to work, can`t go to bar, and no one to talk to. Any thoughts?

That bit is part of the get to know the cast mission in which you have to talk to all inhabitants left.
If Maria is opening the safe and you talked to everyone else you can find, borrowed the hotel's owners car to "rescue" Latoya's sister ( you might missed the girl sitting at the tent entrance to the south ) you should try entering the strip club (bar) again as you gotta inform the owner that you are hiring her staff as well.

The art is quite unique. Personally I find it interesting, but surely not everyone's cup of tea. Still if there is a will, there's a way.

2017-2024...leaps and bounds later it is still save to say the art is not everyone's cup of tea and that's fine it's still subject to improvement so for those who just cannot look passed first impression maybe wait for the 2031 version...
on a more serious note I am happy some even remember this one, calling it unique is high praise in my book and some of the ratings years after I went silent and had to actually earn money at some point resonated with me while I silently worked in my spare time to give this one another shot and selfishly create awful art while enjoying the process...

So how does story pans out against the other two games?

That's for you to find out...it is save to say that the story to me is still the most important aspect so if you enjoyed it the first time around do give this one a try

As I stated above this is a reboot and the second episode will be very different this time around...nothing set in stone yet but I want more game play, staggered sandbox elements and meaningful decisions that open and close routes which impact choices made around you as well as a sub/dom dynamic with certain characters available.
The "old games" I would have liked to name correctly outdated versions, I look back fondly but given that I finish episode one and the tenth part this or next week plus another week for the not yet implemented gallery I look forward to work on something I've never done before so I got no plans working on the old version and at this point I honestly would struggle to imitate the style of old.

On another note for those who want to see more lewd content than in prelude and part one I can state that by the end of episode one with 110 animations currently I have done more than in both old versions combined. Same goes for overall playtime and overall file size.
