Coming along pretty well. Will be posting an update today on Patreon.

We are about 2 weeks away from finishing all the main renders. There will be a few to do as we finalize the script on our play throughs, there always are. And making sure the flow is right. Transition stuff, etc. We are done with the coding and script for about 90% of it. Added a scene or two as we have gone along this past month, stuff to kind of tie things together and lead into the next games. I am hoping to be done in about 3 weeks, but life can always get in the way. Having full time jobs tends to do that.

The situation is both more complicated and more stupid. The last governement got the "great" idea to propose a new adult verification so minor could be "saved" from dirty pics/movies/games. The proposed punishemnts for non-compliance spooked Steam so much (since their age verification is pretty laughable) that they simply geo-blocked Germany (and some other countries with similar laws) from adult stuff.
The biggest joke in this is that this law proposal never made it, the old standards are still on until a new legislation is done. Like so much stuff from the last government, it was simply crap. Well thought but not wellmade, far from it. Not that the current government is much better. The last and current government are the two worst in my lifetime and the lifetime of my parents too.

If you get an USK rating, then everything is well, even for Steam. The USK rating has some power, since Steam can point to it if something happens. If you show your USK rating to Steam, getting Steam approval is usually quick and rather easy. The USK comitee is usually harsh on violence and a lot less harsh on sexual stuff. e.g. Basic Instinct in Germany was uncut with a 16 rating.

That should be the case. I personally do not know of a PC game not approved by Steam if it already had an USK rating when given to Steam for an approval. For example I can without problems go onto German Steam and visit the "Hitman" series site. It has a 18 USK rating, unsurprisingly.
I cannot say with surety what an USK comitee would give your game, it depends on several factors. A 16 is possible, but due to the number of sex scenes a 18 is more probable.

No problem! The situation for you AVN Devs is currently a total mess with Patreon, Steam, etc. Very much in Flux! Another example what can happen: "The Ditzy Demons..." AVN was rated 16 and is on German Steam, but the later Fan Disk was most probably never given to the USK comitee and lacking an USK rating, is mentioned on the page but cannot be called up.
As I wrote, an official USK rating has some power and up to now it meant something for the Steam approval process. Given the upheaval with Patreon, Steam over the last months I would not lay my hand into the fire for it, but in the past the official rating helped a lot.

Sounds like someone here could work for germany adult verification, and play the whole game to decide if gets accepted on steam in germany. that's probably what it would require - someone from steam or some agency in germany playing the whole game. so you get to play adult games as your job. maybe nobody wants to play it because they are too pure and don't want to expose themselves to tits and swinging. but weird, because germany pretty much invented swinging or something.

The problem became the security of minors and the incompetence of some government officials in proposing working(!) legislation instead of idiology. But that is one side of the thing, the other is something which was already there. The USK comitees operate under different rules, obligations and options than the Sream age verification.
Going by some Steam made age ratings it is headscratching who and under what peculiar rules the Steam age rating comitees operate, because their ratings and rejections are all over the place. You can say many things about the USK comitees, but their rulings are usually consistent and the reasoning can be seen. Generally they are hard when it comes to violence, most sexual stuff rather relaxed.
The Dev of "WIAB" and "SG" tried to save money at the wrong end. He blew a lot of money on irrelevant music licences and tried to save the USK fee by giving Steam his first game to age rate in a near complete sexless version. Hilariously Steam gave this "afternoon TV" version a 18 age rating and blocked it for Germany too. Hoisted by his own petard.
Had he coughed up the money for the USK Fee instead for music licences first, he could have given Steam his game with an USK rating in place. Usually Steam just skims over an already officially rated game, takes over this rating and puts the game on site.

Do the animations get smoother eventually? I noticed them being a bit choppy in terms of fluid motion and was curious. I know several games that develop better animation as time moves on so I figured I'd ask.
Loved the demo, will probably buy it when it releases.

Of course there is an age limit for alcohol and the parts of the autobahn where you can drive as fast as you can are getting less and less. And if you have an accident with more than 130 km/h ('recommended speed') you have some serious problems.

Well, the age limit for alcohol in Germany is one of the lowest in the West. 14 for beer/wine if a parental figure is with you, 16 for lower alcohol content beverages, 18 for hard stuff. I also remember the unoffical ruling from my youth days, where it was more or less simply being able to look over the bar without standing on a chair to get a beer.
Then again, binge drinking or "Komasaufen" was truly rare back then.

Some of the animations are better, some can be a little choppy. I basically redid all the renders, and made the animations for the Demo in 2 weeks, so was in a bit of a rush. And I am still working on getting better at the animations, not a pro at them as of yet, that is for sure.
