WEEKEND DEVELOPMENT UPDATE:
Hello all, hope you had a great weekend! I have been hard at work addressing the various and valid points of feedback from the release of v0.2. I wanted to take a moment to thank you all for trying the game out and giving your opinion! As this is my first time making a game and I am still learning... Rough edges are to be expected.. However the early reception and community interaction has been amazing and humbling!
Now, I wanted to share a couple things I have been working on this weekend. One of them is literally game changing and should make most people happy with their concerns moving forward. So far for v0.2.5:

REWORKED the Diary Mechanic entirely. There is now
CHAPTER SELECT that unlocks at EACH special event from viewing scenes as Mark. No more having to view a giant cutscene just to see the new content! You will still receive a notification when the diary has been updated and that will be your queue a new scene is available right away for viewing. "Special events" unlock after accumulating +1 points. More on that down below!

Added a COMPLETE Story Guide/Quest Log!!! No more getting lost or wondering if you've seen everything after you've unlocked a questline. Now you can keep track of your progress and unlock new quests as you explore! See picture below for teaser on that!
- Remastered some older animations to fit the quality coming in v0.3. Just remastered, not remade. They are still fundamentally the same but I made a few tweaks here and there. You'll see. This will be an ongoing project and won't be finished 100% for v0.2.5
- Added Text During Video Playback! Some animated scenes felt a little slow and awkward.. Having text during certain animations make them feel much more dynamic, digestible and will help events feel better as they get more intense down the line.
- Pacing issue are still being worked on. I've added a few more events around the
side characters that should help with the content feeling grindy. This is a big priority of mine but I feel like some of these changes already make the game feel loads better to play through! I still have lots more planned to add for v0.2.5
- Updated the UI A LOT to accommodate the new Guide mechanic. Also with the new UI, you can keep track of the various variables (+1's) attached to certain characters! You'll see Mark, Christine's Corruption, Malcohm, MrD, etc! This UI is also more mobile friend for when the Android version comes out. Which is also planned for v0.2.5, if I have time. Obviously the UI is still a big WIP, but it's a major improvement!
Everything you see here is now in the game and working! I worked my ass off to get this harder technical stuff out of the way this weekend so I can just focus on content creation (CG's, animations, story, etc) for the rest of the week. That being said... Sadly a new save will once again be required, the new Guide Mechanic requires it. I will add a save file for those that just want to jump in again where they left off, though I would highly recommend starting new. It's more fun with the story guide now! This should hopefully be the last time we need to start completely fresh, and if we do I will always include a save anyway. It's the nature of amateur development after all...
