A Perfect Marriage [v0.7.1b] is an imperfect attempt at dissecting the idea of its namesake, to put it mildly.
Entire premise of the story is to take a deeper look at, what is by all accounts, a "perfectly" idyllic marriage life of Anna and David, newbie parents to their firstborn daughter. The pair is very much in love, and after the birth of their child, stronger than ever before.
That is, until the time comes for Anna to return to office for work. The writer begins the tragedy of this "perfect" marriage right here - and we get to meet our evil mastermind who is dedicated to destroying it - David's mentally unstable ex-girlfriend, still scorned by David's rejection all those years ago.
Sounds interesting enough, right?
Well, that's about as interesting as it gets. The evil mastermind ex-gf seemingly has infinite resources at her disposal, and is aided by men whose entire purpose is to shaboink the married Anna Parker. Seriously, every single male character in this story is drooling over Anna, and they don't even make any effort into hiding the fact that they want to spear her violently - all the more spurred on knowing she is happily married. There isn't a single man in Anna's life that doesn't want to get into her pants. And that is where the credulity of this story begins deteriorating. And, of course, Anna is a trusting person with a naive streak, always looking for the best in people - even if she has been molested by older men since she was legal (not kidding, that is literally her backstory, though Anna herself doesn't call it molestation).
Had enough? Okay. David, the husband, is approached by a lecherous new woman at the gym, and instead of immediately dropping her like hot coal, he sets some very flimsy boundaries with her, despite the fact she is basically eye-fucking him every moment she gets - when she's not expressing her intentions to actually fuck him verbally, that is.
However, staying loyal to our dear wife Anna is a moot point, since the Evil Mastermind frames David as a cheater regardless, by having the lewd woman leave parfume & panties in his gym bag. But surely Anna would not believe that her husband is cheating on her after only a week of being back at work, right? She does indeed, especially when her co-worker - whom she had no relationship with before her parental leave - keeps egging her on about all men being cheaters and the usual. So, naturally, our dear wife Anna chooses to heed the advice of this complete stranger and accuse her husband of being unfaithful, to the point of effectively asking for a divorce - but, "luckily" for David, by demanding a trial separation only.
As if the evil genius of the Evil Mastermind is not evil & genius enough, she is also encourages Anna to "get back" at her "cheating" husband by exploring her sexuality, now that she is "free". And, once again, our dear wife Anna chooses to take this advice to heart, and the true game of corrupting Anna begins - she can now become bolder in her encounters with the aforementioned deviants that only want to ram her married pussy senselessly. Which Anna, for some reason now, accepts as the reality of the world, and even begins enjoying the attention.
Which brings us the crux of the issue this game is now facing - the marriage is supremely on the rocks, David is crumbling under the pressure of proving his innocence (if you keep him innocent... I don't even want to know how the game is going to handle David if he actually cheated) while trying to repair his relationship with the newly liberated Anna, his beloved wife who is now hell bent on seeing just how many guys she can evoke an erection from just by talking to them.
Seriously, what is the point of this game? The NTR/cheating aspect was demolished the instant the developer decided to emotionally separate the characters with the divorce-but-not-divorce relationship status. Anna is given an excuse to experiment with men without remorse, while David is stuck trying to save his... company from bankruptcy?
Instead of focusing the plot on the classic cat & mouse NTR game of "is my wife/husband actually cheating on me?" mystery, they decided to wreck the only interesting aspect of the NTR genre - the struggle of maintaining a relationship with their SO in the midst of a whirlwind of love & lust.
It is this reason why A Perfect Marriage is a solid 3 - a middle-of-the-road attempt at improving the NTR genre, but failing to do so - and even being worse it some aspects. The renders are great, the wife Anna is among the hottest (and somewhat realistic body-wise) wives in the industry, so at least that's a major plus. But the story leaves a lot to be desired, and doesn't fullfill the one promise it makes - to be 'adult' & engaging.
