I don't remember. But is not a percentage. After version 0.9 you can have version 0.10 0.11 0.12 0.1000... ... ...
Also very often game versions are a code that specify the date of the release like 0.21112025 or other informations like that. But usually we can assume that a version 0.8 or above is very close to the release.

I know what semantic versioning is, I'm saying I don't think the dev is using it. The way the updates have been described we would be 85% of the way to the end, and the versions have been skipping numbers, and they use ABCDE for patch updates on the same version number

Normally, there are also small updates within a single patch. For example, people often think that version 0.85E is the latest one, but actually 0.85E can contain several minor updates inside it similar to 0.85E build 1, 2, 3.
I told Shiroin to use that versioning scheme, but he said that many players don’t even know which version is the newest. So giving the update a long, detailed name isn’t necessary and would only confuse people even more. Because of that, the game itself won’t know whether that 0.85E version is actually the latest version or not, to trigger the auto update.
According to the steam estimated release, and what is wrote on ci-en, we are few months away from the release of the "complete" game. That is not gonna be the "final" version, but basically the main game with most of the sexual content. But the devs say that they will keep updating and adding content for quite some time. Like a couple years.

right now, the game is focusing on imouto, and once that’s finished, it doesn’t mean development will stop. There might even be DLC in the future, so stay tuned.

Hey, could someone tell me how the hell I find that damn boss that's in this abandoned forest? I've been trying to find the place where he is for days now but I just can't. If I follow those shiny dots in the corner of each path they only lead me to that mushroom house, but there's nothing there. I can't find the boss no matter what, I've tried so many different ways. Could someone help me find this boss? What's the right path? What do I need to have to find the way to the boss room
