Maybe this weekend or next week. The reason for the delay because the developer decided to work more on Athia.update news? 3 week now
1. The talent bonus to defense is given to leather armor too, not just chainmail.Heavily disagree that chainmail armor is useless. Tia absolutely must have very high armor for tanking via armor.
MC and Livia are more up for debate, but on level close to 50 one critical hit by same level enemy makes you lose most of your HP. If you have chainmail though you not only get 12 additional armor, you also get % bonus from skill. So MC survivability increases greatly
Patrons shall sure be lucky, next update is my most anticipatedMaybe this weekend or next week. The reason for the delay because the developer decided to work more on Athia.
Please don't be so irritated when people discuss stuff you are uninterested in.Honestly, who gives a flying fuck if Tia and/or Lyvia get knocked out while fighting.
Increasing survivabilty, uh? Man, talent points, drinking potions and using magic spells are far more important than any weapon or armour.
I can't understand all this damn debate about these battles of yours: it's the least tricky part of the game. More importantly, hunting, collecting herbs/items, making money, farming, eating, sleeping and unlocking picks are more essential activities.
Your numbers are off. First, even without armor skill modification base difference between full chainmail and full lether with all iron plates is 9, not 8 (body chainmail has difference 3 with leather, other parts have 2). With armor skill modifications this 9 defence points difference becomes 12 or 13.1. The talent bonus to defense is given to leather armor too, not just chainmail.
2. your argument is for why armor is better than naked. not why chain is better than leather.
Tia is LESS tanky with chain than she is with leather.
For example my Tia is level 45 and has 79 defense and 10% evasion while wearing a full suit of leather +2 armor set.
If you were to swap her to a full suit of chainmail +2 and she will instead have... 87 defense and 0% evasion.
each hit deals slightly less damage to her. But she lost her ability to evade 10% of blows (and evaded blow deals 0 damage), instead she will be hit by every single enemy attack.
Overall she takes more damage with this "upgrade" than she would have without it. Especially against stronger opponents. The stronger the opponent the worst this tradeoff is. Since an evasion can nullify infinite damage. While defense is reducing the damage by a fixed amount.
Chainmail simply needs to get rid of that penalty to evasion. Then it would be a very slight marginal improvement over leather.
Although at that point it will still be hideously expensive. at 5 talent points, lategame quest, and a bunch of advanced resources.
You need quite an effort and grinding and advancing in quite a few quests in order of creating armour. In short, it isn't worthwhile at all. Please don't be so irritated when people discuss stuff you are uninterested in.
Can you win battles with suboptimal RPG build? Sure, this is not a difficult game in terms of harcoreness. Are we still allowed to think about and discuss what build is optimal? Hell yes, we are.

We're not playing an old Ultima/Bard's Tale classic RPG, pal: battles aren't the purpose of the game. MC's real battles are in bed with the chicks.
Well, I like grindy RPGs). So while I obviously enjoy romance part of the game, I think I am also allowed to enjoy the RPG part as well)I mean you guys must sure have a lot of time to talk about variables and stats on a porn game like it was competitive Pokémon or hardcore Underrail, if you are having fun doing that good for you, but I am going to romance someone else again in the meantime
I also really like reasonable grindy rpgs that let me try new stuff, I am glad you are having fun with armor, I usually gloss over it sometimesWell, I like grindy RPGs). So while I obviously enjoy romance part of the game, I think I am also allowed to enjoy the RPG part as well)
ooooo that's niceMaybe this weekend or next week. The reason for the delay because the developer decided to work more on Athia.
Just checked the patreon and seemingly 0.4.7.9 was seemingly just released instead I think? Though it's an early test version, can't really check since the post is locked and while I was thinking of supporting this game I don't wanna start supporting till next month since patreon has a by month pay system so if I start today I'll have to pay again in another 5 days and I'm to stingy with cash for that .ooooo that's nice
Might be wrong on this but I don't remember her corruption score getting stuck at 10, might be that you need to trigger the handjob scene which triggers when she's at 10 corruption and you try to make her drink the love potion again. You shouldn't have to switch what your doing to increase her corruption however but you might need to trigger certain scenes before it will increase again.Kate corruption is stuck at 10. Drinking doesn't increase her corruption anymore. Do I just have to find another way, is this the point?
Some people fap to the porn, I fap to the mathI mean you guys must sure have a lot of time to talk about variables and stats on a porn game like it was competitive Pokémon or hardcore Underrail, if you are having fun doing that good for you, but I am going to romance someone else again in the meantime
Alright. fair enough. But makes no difference. +9 armor for losing your ability to dodge is still a net negativeYour numbers are off. JesusWith armor skill modifications this 9 defence points difference becomes 12 or 13.
E. g. with armor skill 15
Ok, thanks. I was worried it was a bug. What you said makes sense.Might be wrong on this but I don't remember her corruption score getting stuck at 10, might be that you need to trigger the handjob scene which triggers when she's at 10 corruption and you try to make her drink the love potion again. You could you say you have a… countable fetish! Some people fap to the porn, I fap to the math
(note I am joking... mostly).
Surely you realize, that armor skill not only allows you to wear better armor, but also increases defence by approximately 2.5% per skill level? So this is the most cost-efficient skill for tanking (increasing constitution increases HP with the same rate, but defence is more valuable because of logarithmic scale I mentioned in earlier message; increasing perception only gives 2% evasion per 2 skill points). Some people fap to the porn, I fap to the math

Jesus
just why would you waste 15 talent points on armor? that is insane. You do not know there are a bunch of important things that need talent points?
Yea, I was assuming only the bare minimum of talent points spent into armor... and then concluded that it is still not worth the talent point.
The more talent points you waste on Armor skill the worst off you are. Put them into something actually useful
You are forgetting something very important, and that is that talent points are precious. And those other skills do other things. So this is the most cost-efficient skill for tanking (increasing constitution increases HP with the same rate, but defence is more valuable because of logarithmic scale I mentioned in earlier message; increasing perception only gives 2% evasion per 2 skill points).
Oh, you were talking only about Tia and not the MC and Lyvia. So pray tell what exactly are more valuable talent points for Tia? She is a tank and should be able to sink as much damage as possible
