Ren'Py - Completed - A Tale of Eden [Final] [395games]

I played the final version.

I quite like this dev's other games, but this appears to be their first attempt, and seems like more of an experimental effort. I only played for about an hour, and quit because I got bored. The writing is lackluster, the story seems linear, and the gameplay is nonexistent. I recommend skipping this one and checking out their other games instead.

TLR don't play. if you do if you not enjoying by thrird minutes in give up it doesn't get better,
it has some pretty good scenes(unfortunately not animated) (models look a bit like plastic dolls though) the problem is the gameplay there were multiple times back to back where I got lost or couldn't continue because of some small trigger not occurring which wasn't apparent and would have been found without researching where they were or what triggers the continuation of the story.

this short game that should have been a quick fun took me 3 hours to get to the point I did because of this. I played for 2 hours and got to chp.3 its a shitty point and click, only unlocked 5 scenes, and that's with me clicking through most of the flavor text.

porn games should primarily be porn focused its bs that there are fetch quests (clicking through a forest to gather alchemy ingredients), at least it isn't as egregious as Mist but at least with mist stuff wasn't hidden, there were multiple Hidden Objects games where the object wasn't findable because the room was dark and the object was small.

Anyways I gave up the option to "call the girls" and just say that we finished with the dungeon, the only character I think I could progress with was the alchemist which would require me to spend an hour going into the woods clicking around collecting resources.

I play this first before going to the Mist, my only problem is the story was too short, i hope there's the continuation from this story, about the Cinderarmy conflict.
The girls are great, but i didn't get the "nerd" vibe from Hilda design, she looks like the second most mature girl after the redhair girl (maybe put some glasses on her will fix it?, and so about the controversial rapey scene with hilda, some people may don't like it but not for me, it's true that it was too bad for the MC to did that, but maybe that's because the MC got a lot of stress after he knew that he will be pulled into bigger problems, and had a lots of thought in his head, and the developer got the balls to show the downside momment of MC's morality, but after what happened MC begs for forgiveness, and too bad the story ends when it's about to be great. good luck to the developers for the project!.

I don't know how to rate this one.

Basically it has everything that basic sandbox need:
- some plot and story to complete
- few girls to develop relations with and fuck them
- decent graphics and background music

But I don't know it's like something is missing. Like every part could be more expanded and more detailed.

Oh and every other male character looks like mushroom. Literally. I have no idea wtf it's all about. I mean if it was about saving time spent to draw characters they could be just shades or silhouettes. No. We have mushrooms with eyes.

Still as I said the game is not bad. Worth checking out.

This game feels like its the first project of someone with many great ideas and some realy bad ones aswell. And thats basicly what it is. The H-scenes are ok(a few are really good) and some story had a good foundation but it really fell apart towards the end.

The best thing about this game is the next game the dev made, Mist. I gave it a 5/5

Game is ok!
Its easy, fun and pretty straightforward. Animations are well-developed.
Not a big fun of brutal male interactions, still loved the game and went to the end without hesitation.
Hope to play smth new from this author

the story could have been good, if the writer had paid better attention to detail and developed more choices and possibly different story arc's...
sadly the best thing about this game is story and the 2d art, all the 3d elements are complete garbage.

the possession angle is a good idea, but even when making deals to accept a that possession means you can still control yourself or should be specially when things go against the grain of the MC... also it would make much more sense and logic to find out about things before you act specially when you have another entity sharing space in your body.

so the only good art is the 2d stuff at the beginning everything else after that is 3d and is complete shit, the story fails because of lack of planning and thought (lack of use of logic and depth of story/arc)...

Wow, this one is a mixed bag. I will say up front: if you don't have as much time to play every renpy game on this site regardles of quality, in the first post go the devs other game Mist, and play that. This game is okay, Mist is absolutely great.

Also: the mushrooms had me giggling way more than they should have. I wonder if the Mist shrooms are a nod back to this?

Characters: The strongest point of the game, I like each of them that's introduced. They are a little flat and underdeveloped, but that's more a matter of time than anything else.

Renders: 3.5/5 maybe? It's the same claymation style as their new project, but the quality is not as high. The environments are a lot more detail sparse, although that comes across as a stylistic choice, but the characters themselves feel like they could just... be a little better. quality

Story and Writing: Good points, there's a... bad turn at the end, which the dev has acknowledged. When I got to "the end", my response was "well, that was abrupt"... and I read the dev note on the first page. The story is serviceable overall, the world building is actually pretty nice, if a little to quick to info dump too often, but the game would need to be a lot longer to spread out that information.

I will say: someone in this thread had an idea of rewriting the bad scene with Hilde, to use aphrodisiac, since they're an alchemy nerd... after mist, it would nice if 395 at least did that, if they don't plan to rework the game as a whole, from what they've learnt since.

The Sex: Decent enough, there's not much, but there's a little variety between the scenes that are there.

Mechanics and Gameplay: Fairly rounded, the interface could use imrpovement, the grind is balanced around the time frame nicely

Closing Notes and Thoughts: a middle of the road game, and a decent first effort. 395 says how they've learned from their mistakes in this game, to imrpove their work going forwards - can confirm they've upped the quality in every aspect of their work, by leaps and bounds. Part of me almost gave this a 2, the way the ending clashed with everything else... and I can't rate Mist highly enough. Like I said in the story remarks above, I would love to see 395 come back to this, ideally for a rull reimagination - but even just a touch up.

2.5/5 go play Mist instead (and then come back to this if you want to see where that came from)

Overall, it was nice, neither long nor short, could use some tweaks gameplay wise, and while I understand why the last chapter went like that, I feel it could have been handled better, but still I would say that it's better than the average

Alright so... the story was pretty decent. But the way the game is played is much better in the first half. The build up in the first half though makes you expect more/better out of the second half in which it only gets worse. The story is actually decent all the way through but you expect more scenes or more mind control features in the second half of the game which is where it becomes really disappointing especially since its more click intensive then the first half of the game. The art style is really good but theres very little in terms of the amount of scenes. Its basically like 3-4 per character and they are not hard to get but the game can be click intensive so at the same time it really isnt worth it.

I think if you want to play this game play it for the story even though its not a super good story its still decent and worth it more then the sex scenes in the game.

the only thing i liked in this game is the art but even that i didn't have the chance to really like it due to how awful the MC was, i explain myself, until the end of the game the MC was adamant on he didn't like to fuck the girls and didn't liked the girls he was so much in denial that he is gone as far as violating one of the girl "to get it over with" . maybe i'm bad at understanding people psychology. why he was so adamant about that? i would have understand it if the demoness was constantly harassing him in admiting it and was mean in general but she was nothing but nice with him all the conditions was here for him to enjoy the experience, i don't understand.

about the sex content of the game, well not much content here but the render are good the content for two of the girls is enjoyable but for the two others it's my personal opinion but for me it was absolutly not enjoyable, the two only vaginal scene were highly detestable for the one with Hilda the MC raped her how i'm supposed enjoying that ? and even worst it's the only vaginal sex scene with her and for me it's the main event and the more important when we have sex with a girl and i want the girl to enjoy it, not to be terrified . and for the other girl Cat the only vaginal sex we have with her is when she is asleep because she didn't wanted to do it when awake because the MC is detestable and she only do it to help Eve the demoness. how i'm supposed to enjoy this either ? it's like fucking a dead body !! we can't say she is consenting, it's a rape and if not well at least it's practically is.

in the end I dont recommend to play this game. and if the developer does an episode 2 just read a recap of episode 1 and start straight from episode 2 the hero seems to be getting normal and a good person at the end of episode 1 hoping I have reason and so the hero can start a REAL romance with Hilda and Cat.

Great game with a unique 3D style and a nice, if short, MC story with okay dialogue. I honestly think more people need to see this one, the art style may seem weird at first but it's not the same shitty renders that every other 3DCG game uses, and the dev seems to have worked very hard on the whole project.

pretty good art-style, and good enough plot i guess, ends sort of abruptly, but based on the author's patreon and what they said about it, its understandable things happened how they did and the game ends how it does.

Hopefully the dev can come back to this universe and expand the end of this story once they've improved their skills, but even if they don't this was still relatively enjoyable for what little it offered, even if some mechanics were a bit tedious, although the way the story went towards the end, especially in terms of the MC's personality wasn't really enjoyable, it would have been much better for some unseen force/party being the cause rather than a simple change of mind due to circumstances

Don't get me wrong I don't dislike the artstyle per se but the isn't a lot of content on the frontend of this game.
Also my game crashes everytime I try to investigate the mannor, so I decided to drop it right there.

The art style was a nice change from all the DAZ-VN's around. But there's where the things end. There's one girl with three slightly different morphs. The face on the three are identical.
I didn't dislike or like the VN, it was just kind of nothing in the between.
It would've had 4/5 if it wasn't for the grind which was random and I and RNG doesn't do well together...

Just finished the game, and it was meh. I felt disapointed throught the whole experience. Before I speak ill, the annoyance I felf after feeling as if i wasted 4-5 hours, about two of useless grinding, I didnt feel as annoyed after reading the comments, dev isnt as shit as I originally thought.


Graphics: Ill give it like a B. The unique claymation style art is decent. The backgrounds were all amazing, but charecters seemed off. The lack of emotiom bothered me with this art style. Plus the eyes that stares into the pit of your soul is offputting. Although, im not sure how to fix that, and the bodies were pretty good.


Gameplay; C. it was meh. Stats seemed unimportant, looking for items even more so. Like the dev had plans but bailed later on. Im not sure if knowledge effected anything aside from maybe advancing one evenf, same with ability. Threat was only relevant for the first chapter, it felt more like filler than anything.


Charecters: B. They were fine. Non of which stood out to me neither in a good or bad way. They had some personality which fell through at times, other times their personality changed, primarily in the last chapter. Which is mostly caused by gameplay/story changes.


Story: C. I would say the story was a B, maybe an A. However the ending went by so quickly... Everything seemed to be pushed away to end the game quickly. Chapters 2-3 also felt very short as well, only existed to get it over with. The massive cliffhanger was a disapointing one as well. It started with really good world building! able to learn a bit about cultures, different parts of history, and the different kinds of magic. However after a while, the world building became unimportant and i felt talking to charecters about it became a chore because the game was rushing me.


Lastly, the tags also disapointed me. "Management" and "Trainer" dont effect the end product at all. Not a trace of it. Which is a shame because Management was the primary reason I played it. Love that shit. Plus Mind Control has little, to no effect on the game. We use it effectivly on one girl, ever. Then at a certain point becomes pointless, only to be useful for plot convenience..

Overall, Id give it a C. Its passing, I understand why some could enjoy it. Ill jm just going to move on, If i ever see the dev continue this one, or make a sequel ill try it. Just wont get my hopes up.

I'm not one for reviews. Seriously, I play a lot of these games and dont say much. The story is intriguing, it draws you in. It really is a game you play for the plot. One of the tags is "Big Tits" and that is is a straight up lie. Yes, the renders are below average, the term "claymation" is accurate. Still, the story is good, until the end where it just leaves you hanging after forcing a rape unto one of the girls in order to finish the game. I would rate this higher if there were more content but the game finishes at a mid-epoch transition.

It is a game that invites you to play it more to unlock all the scenes. The grafics are okay, there is some grinding needed but it is entertaining enough to keep playing.
The storyline is really entertaining.
