I assume he’s salty someone made a LoRa for his artstyle.
Wow this gives me hope this game might actually get fan-finished some day haha

It'd be kind of stupid to get salty about that though because some other human artist could copy this style too. They say the best revenge is living well. If he's that upset about it he should focus on finishing what he started. If he creates something great he will earn his dues. And people will copy his style in homage.

6+ years of gradual efforts (milking Patreon) when suddenly some random beep boop robot artist knocks on his door and suddenly he's all fired up lmao.

As devisive the discussion around AI can be, he could have been so much further along had he done this himself :p
From an artistic standpoint, this lora was trained on his art, so he could just claim it as his own and see what it produces.

i am at the part in the "landlady" route where i have to hang out with her at the evening. however every time i do, the objective updates to say that i missed it no matter how many times i hangout with her. is there a way to fix this bug or is it a mandatory thing to miss it no matter what?

I can't say that I'm surprised, the whole system with how patreon etc works encourages developers to do exactly this. Drip feeding content and once the money dries up they jump onto another project. It's always a bit sad when you see games that were fun and showed a lot of potential. I actually didn't know this begun development back in 2017, for that amount of time it's really barebones.

It would have been far quicker to have the AI trained in his art produce samples, and then he retouches those samples to smooth out any of the usual rough edges and wobbling you see from AI images, and there! You have output of his art-style at a fraction of the time spent. Now, I am saying this as an ardent fan of traditional and non-AI art, but I will say this guy's exceptionally slow and irregular output makes him a good candidate case for why (sometimes) AI art would be great for supplementing your work, WITHOUT actually making the majority of it be AI derived. If he truly got salty because someone produced passable samples of his art quickly, then he should not let his pride get in the way of properly finishing his art, elsewise he starts to be looked at as nothing more than another hypocritical grifter scoffing at available tools. And this is speaking as someone who normally has a deep dislike of AI art, and the ramifications for stealing from artists.

It's mandatory, and the story requires it to move you forward in disappointing her. The way the story does it is kind of sloppy, but you get the point. I think years ago, he wrote about how it's supposed to be the catalyst for the main character to want to get off his ass and start actively pursuing relationships, even of the forbidden variety.

Yes... I literally think we've reached a level where we have to ask ourselves, what's better?

Losing the right to total freedom of how works of this type can become (like what happens with the beast tag that Patreon prohibits and almost all the devs who use it removed all content related to it) but that with it there is a guarantee that things like this don't happen or literally playing a roulette wheel all the time with only one box of going well and the rest of not being so.

Because my God, among the garbage that turned out lately in big projects that were loved like future fragments, Subverse and among many others, this one at least had some hope since even the dev had half listened to the people who wanted the incest content and re-added an option, but after reading the recent comments and seeing the state in which the bastard releases the project, this kills the hope of one's soul about the future.

0 new content for a 1.0 version
0 bug fixes and even new ones that are really bad like the menu where to start or the gallery itself.
0 commitment to respecting the wishes of their community for the end.

People like this cause those who have good intentions or bad streaks of luck, to be labeled or tarnished as being of the same ilk, when even though it is extremely rare today, there are still some.

The advancement of AI is fucking remarkable even a year ago this would have been most likely impossible.

I'm happy this is over. First version is played was 0.18 and didn't have any issue and then all came crashing down with unfinished CG so I decided I'll fully play it again when it finished. Now I don't feel like playing it again but I'm very happy for the gallery mode getting fixed I can watch it all with the universal gallery unlocker

I heard a lot of content got removed from the game to push the 1.0 release. Does anyone know which version had the most content in it?

Why am I not surprised this gets the premature evacuation? Privitude, it sucks and you're 100% right. This was one of my favorite games and I supported it a long time ago too, but I don't support anything in development anymore. Almost every game I've really liked gets abandoned or "finished" early. Devs getting away with highway robbery and people getting duped out of their money is sad on so many levels.

I do find one part about this ironically funny though and it's his lecture about AI art when you start up his other game. About how people should never support AI because artists are special or something. This fucking guy is the exact reason why AI art needs to exist. Because artists are very often flaky people. Creativity is not something that can easily be forced into a reliable, consistent work schedule, so they get burnt out and want to create other things. It's understandable, but it's the huge projects they take on and the money they extract from people during production that is the problem. All the while they give one excuse after another. Just be honest and don't keep taking money for nothing.

Look at GRRM, he's suing OpenAI just for using his words to train AI, meanwhile he has like 5 unfinished series. His greatest work, which would be one of the most epic fantasy series for now and forever more, will never be finished. It's tragic.

AI art still needs hard work from humans to make it good, they have to have creative vision, they just don't have enough natural talent. "Who wants to support people who type prompts all day?" Who wants to support your bum ass Geeseki?
Generative AI exists to benefit venture capitalist and no one else. If they can ever get it to a point where it doesn't just constantly burn money and resources, all of it's use-cases are just just ways to extract wealth and funnel it upwards. You will do the drudge work so that a corporate data center can burn down forests and eat lakes of water to 'make art' instead.

Folks who use gen-AI are not artists, nor are they creative. They are at best an art commissioner, asking something else to make something they asked for. They cannot be original, nor can anything gen-AI output be original. Look at the projects that won Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon animation competition. They were nearly all made by passionate fans who poured a lot of time and effort into their works. The telling thing however is the behind-the-scenes vignettes each the winners created, where they go in depth into their creative processes, and the visual metaphors they used. Each one of them could go on for a whole day explaining their craft, except for one. The one dude who won using gen-AI? He has a laughably short video where he spends half the time extoling his love for Pink Floyd, then says how he put a bunch of 3D assets he (supposedly) created into his local training data and let the model run. That's it. Outside of making a few 3D models, he cannot explain what he did or why. There was no creative process there. Nothing was being communicated.

Don't believe me? Ask gen-AI to make you an image of a full glass of wine. Full to the top, ready to spill over. It cannot do it. While you can imagine it, and an artist could make it, you've probably never actually seen that; and because zero images of it exist within the datasets used to train gen-AI the model has no way of probabilistically getting to a full glass of wine from all the images it has of half-full glasses.

Gen-AI doesn't think. Gen-AI doesn't create. Gen-AI doesn't communicate. It is an elaborate pattern recreating black box built with linear math. Want the same image you just generated, but with one tiny tweak? You'll never get that, because every generation is a full roll of all the dice.

Sure, there are scammers out there. People making their own art? Very rare. They can get burned out, or be bad at communicating or business admin, but on the whole they're not trying to actively defraud people. Folks using Gen-AI on the other hand? Yeah, they're akin to plagiarists, selling you on a 'product' they didn't make but are passing off as their own. It is inherently a scam. Much like plagiarists, once they've crossed that moral line and demonstrated that they are cool with stealing other people's works, you cannot trust that they haven't done so before and won't do so in the future. It's why plagiarism summons the hammer of god down upon you in academics. If they're using Gen-AI for the CG, what's to stop them from using it to write words or do the code? F95 is absolutely awash in entirely Gen-AI shovelware, bland VN's and simple puzzle games they could easily copy the code for and then shove nonsensical Gen-AI images into, hoping that enough sad horny dipshits would more than cover the costs of shitting out the 'game'.

Gen-AI makes spam and enables plagiarism diffused through an unknowable black box built by venture capitalists ghouls to siphon even more wealth out of the middle class, and the result is that everything about the end user experience on the internet is way worse now than it was a decade ago (and if they have their way, things will only get worse).

So I dunno, maybe don't extol the virtues of being a fucking cog in the corporate machine?

I don't care about the quality of this game or it's finished state. I was surprised to see it had reached 1.0 and was curious, that's all. I'd checked out on the project long ago, because these sandboxes I find to be largely boring and juvenile experiences now. Don't like people 'milking' Patreon? Caveat Emptor, we're in a free market, so stop supporting them. Also stop buying Early Access games as well (or any mainstream AAA game at launch). The sooner you learn this fact, the better off you'll be. Gen-AI won't fix this, it will only make it worse. You're not wrong for being disappointed with this game, but your prescriptions for how to fix this are entirely off-base and out of touch with reality.
