In my opinion, L&P did start this project the wrong way...
He came up with a good story, then he did the math how much money he wants to get and how many updates should have for it.
The problem is the scenario is like a standalone movie, which he sliced into say 30-40 pieces and now is served as a tv series. Unfortunately things dont work this way. In a standalone movie you can afford having the max momentum somewhere in the middle, but in a tv series you've got to give something every episode to keep people interested.
L&P might not see it this way simply because he knows the story, he can see the big picture. But we dont, and thus we simply get annoyed and confused in what regards the progress of so called main plot.
