Some harsh, but constructive criticism. The animations had to be the worst idea I've ever seen for this VN. I never liked the idea when I first heard about L&P doing them and now after seeing the result it only reinforces my opinion of how bad an idea it was.

We got the idea that Aiden and Andre were vile characters just by the actions they took in the beginning of the game. Aiden forcing Sophia to remove her bra in front of him outside class and Andre groping her in class were enough to show that. We didn't need to see a forced rape of Jennifer. And unfortunately, there is no way to avoid it if you want to stay on the path of Sophia doing the 12 tasks. Not only that but the animation of the sex scene was ridiculous. Did we really need to see several angles of Andre's dick going back and forth? There was nothing remotely erotic about it or special. You could remove that scene completely from the game and it wouldn't affect the story at all.

The time spent on doing the animations could have been put to better use in developing any one of the story lines; for example, the new one with Dylan and Ellie caring more about each other as siblings. Or giving those who chose the boarding school route something to see during the update besides an immediate "the end". The story was doing fine with just quick frame overlaps to simulate movement. Animations were not needed. Not only were they a colossal disappointment for what was hyped, not only did they in no way move the story forward in any meaningful way, but they also actively took away time that could have been spent on writing out more scenes for each of the story branches and speed for getting the updates out.

I hope L&P learned a lesson from this. If he's so insistent on including them in his VN then he should wait until he completes it and wants to do a remastered version where he can add all the special effects he wants.

Initially, I was depressed when I learned about the next update, however, as always with this game.
But, usually the game itself heals from this, albeit not completely.
Only this time, the elaborateness of the animations leaves an unusually pleasant impression.
The perfectionism with which the author approaches history and art is quite naturally reflected in the animated effect of sex, which makes you immerse yourself and believe in what is happening.
This is the first sex scene for me, since the path of fidelity is absolutely not interesting to me. (This is not about Sofia's involvement in this, for those who haven't played yet)
Whether the author does not want or is not able to speed up the production of this game - I do not know. But I wish him success in any case, because. his product is unique and original, and also beautiful.

I believe that in future updates, the author will be able to more narrowly release updates aimed at a certain vector of revealing Sofia's relationship with the characters.
I mean, for example, the whole day with daughter and her friends on the beach, where by chance the main character meets Natalie, and all the ensuing scenes from these events.
I think it would be easier for him to get a response from those people whose fetishes would be fully satisfied.
Even if it will mean a cyclical "dissatisfaction" of those whose interests are not affected by fetishes. A longer wait, but with a tangible output for a part of the audience and its influx. In any case, we wait forever, it will not get worse.
Such is the sacrifice in the name of progress.

And considering L&P said in the past that task 4 is where Sophia would be given a way out of the tasks,
it sounds like that's the real reason why she has to meet Aiden at his gang's hangout.
Either Aden or even Sophia herself is going to make the other one an offer/deal in exchange to get out of the tasks.
She was thinking to herself about the meeting while she was getting dress for the meeting with Aiden.

It only sounds realistic for this to happen, let face it Sophia is a smart woman, she's not dumb by any means.
Yes she might get lucky and have Zach not say anything but she has to know that the whole class seeing her in
her panties is going spread though the whole school quicker than a wild forest fire. And Aiden is smart
enough to know this as well.

"IF" this option is made and Sophia agrees to it, I see a real hard bad time for Sophia.
1) we now see Aiden and Andre are worse than we first thought.

2) Aiden is NOT going to give up the remaining 8 tasks plus give up watching her having to let the other guys
see and feel up her tits. Aiden is going to want to get alot in return if he has to give up that much.

3) I don't think Aiden will be there alone, most likely Andre and maybe one or two others, but Andre for sure,
and lets not forget that Andre is PISSED for being slapped and the whole class knowing about it
and he told Sophia she would pay for it.

Well like i said before you can't like something that was keeping one of your favorite game update delayed. Many of us liked the addition of animations. maybe the dev used them in the wrong place but these are good animations. Now the only downisde is the fact that it delayed the update.

If the dev can deliver the updates on time and with animations honestly i can't see how it is a bad thing

And i would like to see animations that don't depicts sex scenes. Like sophia boobs-butt jiggling or some groping. softer stuff you know, That would be awesome.

I agree. Even though I'm not enjoying the Aiden storyline anymore, I can't justify getting in bed with the mob. Talk about out of the frying pan and into the fire! If getting into bed with the mob is considered the comfortable way to exit the Aiden storyline, I shudder to think what the uncomfortable solution is.

This isn't a fair criticism of the anger over certain content. It's one thing to come into a game and avoid the content you don't like. It's a totally other thing to run into objectionable content that you didn't expect and weren't prepared for. If L&P wants a game that includes rape and Shota content, fine, but he should be upfront about that. The Shota content especially was unfairly thrust upon players who didn't expect it. Personally, I never would have started the game if rape and shota had been included in the tags from the beginning. So it's kinda a slap in the face to throw it into the game after four years of development.

I know that L&P has said before that there won't be any sexual violence towards Sophia, but I think that statement is highly suspect at this point. And that worries me.

It's highly likely that if I'd seen Shota in the tags 4+ years ago that I wouldn't have bothered playing this game/VN. It came as a sickening surprise to me when it suddenly landed but I'm still here, principally because I could just revert to playing the first side job & ignore the second, or pretend it's a bad dream Sophia has sometimes. [I've said previously that both side jobs should be dispensed with via the simple process of Sophia being given the full-time hours teaching that she contracted to do....enough time has passed in-game to make this completely logical]. I did consider departing as I've done with Fashion Business, Project Myriam, Special Request & other games. [Not because of Shota, I hasten to add]. I stayed because of the time & effort already committed & the fact that Sophia is such a compelling character. This is, in a way, is the pirate version of the Patrons throwing good money after bad but it was my choice, just as it was when I deleted the other games.

As for the Jennifer scene which has helped re-ignite this controversy, while it could be seen as rape & has been by some, I will split hairs by calling it sex with an element of coercion. That description is arrived at by comparing it with rape scenes in some other games.

Where Sophia is concerned L&P can either take the blackmail to its' obvious conclusion, using whatever devices are necessary, or can make Sophia a willing participant in a mutually consensual sex game. If the latter, then as I've said many times, it's no longer blackmail & the route fizzles out. I can forsee a situation where Sophia has the usual 'lets get it over with' approach, rather than being subjected to hard violence. That is to say, I could forsee it, if the game ever reached task 12. At present this is about as likely as myself & other incest avoiders having to witness a son shagging his own mother. These things are not going to happen because AWAM can't sustain the snail's pace for several more decades.

That such issues are not, however, purely academic, has been made manifest by recent developments & we await the next few playable days knowing that these subjects will keep cropping up.
