You may be completely right, but I want to note that if we don't see an update in the near future, then you and I will read a huge variety of scenarios for a new arc in the game.
I also want to draw your attention to the fact that to a greater or lesser extent, the arc of Zack was previously indicated in the game. At the moment, L&P is talking about something completely new, which makes me think it's not about Zack.
Maybe some kind of school circle, with other characters, but which will somehow be involved in the task

I doubt we will ever see a DLC for this game.Unless he is planning to deliver the DLC way before the main game.
Sure why not-let's release the bonus content for PD 20,way before the release of PD 15,for example.

It is a good question and yes it is hyping something. With his current production now lagging the last update, for about 1 quarter the product, it is not a good situation. As GingerSweetGirl said the second of 10 will be the actual proof. However, I would expect that, with his new assistants, the second of 10 must come out faster. If this is not true then I am done and I can see many others making similar decisions. The pile of lies will have gotten too high to climb.

As I said before it will not be a newly "invented" branch but a path that has been planned for a long time and in some way will advance the story. We have more days ahead of us than behind us. L&P could fill that time with an endless fuckfest. I'm sure that would please most here, but it would also tire quickly and I personally would get bored. That's why the branch is necessary and I think it will also be cross-event and cross-person.

Literally no one who is a regular to this thread has ever asked for AWAM to become a fuckfest. This was an unnecessary passive aggressive swipe at those of us that criticize the game. All of us would dislike it if the game turned into a fuckfest.

How do you know that, though? Can't say I don't want this to be true, but L&P's message reads like it's quite the opposite. "totally new branch for the future of the game" to me sounds like it's gonna be something entirely new, possibly unrelated to previous events even. Granted, seeing that other routes already turn into DLC's doesn't make it very promising to include even more content that's slowing down the story's progression, but knowing L&P it wouldn't really surprise me either.
Still, I do hope you're right.

It's frustrating, but between AWAM and JOHN, I can see me giving up on both before we get to June. JOHN has all but collapsed at this point, and the dev has become just as stubborn as L&P. And as much as I enjoy participating in this thread, if we only have two updates by June it may be time for me to put this game down permanently. This isn't a threat or a complaint, it's just me stating a personal truth, without more regular updates to these games I'll probably move on sometime this year.

Yeah, I have somewhat similar feelings toward both games. I used to be pretty hyped about new updates in the past, but this excitement has started to slowly fade away over the years, especially in recent months because of the ever increasing amounts of time per development cycle. I'm starting to think that it might be better to check back in every year or two, so atleast there's a chance for a solid amount of new content waiting to be explored.

I have to disagree that this was planned for a long time. The original novel design was for 3 to 4 years tops, per a previous quote from L&P on this site.

If he was working on his original "script," then we should be in the final year of this novel or finished. However, this is something new, and This wasn't in the works for a long time.

Maybe I'm not translating L&P's post correctly but don't read anything that supports their statement. But of course I could be wrong. And I can't prove anything because I don't know anything about the planned development paths. I can only conclude from what I have experienced so far. And that says to me, and I would like to emphasize again that my opinion stands only on the statement of L&P that he has already written the history and also like the process of the events so far experience, that it is not a "completely new" branch.
