Thats not how this works....

If you for example want to render an animation in 24 frames for one second you need to render EVERY FRAME. So lets say each frame tales 10 hours

24 ×10 = 240 hours for o e second × 10 so 2400 hours for a 10 second Animation
One frame would basically be 1 render. 24 frames per second = 240 frames for a 10 second animation. That's 240 renders. L&P has bought a computer for this task alone (according to him), and it's equipped with 2x 3090ti's with NVLink, so a single frame is rendered within a couple minutes and in some cases even seconds depending on the scene, not hours. lol

L&P's animations should only take a couple hours of render time. Difficult to say how long exactly, but considering a single 3090ti can render a 3min short at 24fps with 4320 frames (which is used for Benchmarks) within ~25 hours using Blender, you can be very certain that it's not taking him weeks or months to render a couple short animations, especially since he's using two linked GPU's.

Now, the RTX 4090 can be up to twice as fast compared to a single 3090ti in certain scenarios, but for L&P's purposes I'd say it'd be a waste of money. Could be worth it for his animations, but even that is very questionable as he's not creating movies or shortfilms. It's only a couple second long animations for the most part.

The only thing that would come out of an update to RTX 4090 cards is a flimsy explanation of why the conversion to the new cards means a two-week delay for the next update.

Also, The new hardware would only be used by L&P to add even more fog effects. :ROFLMAO: It doesn't make anything faster at all.

He's saving it from becoming the new slowest dev-cycle with that amount if we're looking at raw numbers, but that's about it. 290 renders with a release around the 4th would still end up being 3.8 renders a day, which is terrible. Especially for an update without animation, so no extra work on that front.

For comparison: 0.161 was his slowest ever with 3.4 renders a day, and that update had 2 animations (30 fps) with a total
length of 9 seconds. Animations have always caused a huge delay since their introduction to the game. With that in mind, 290 renders and no animations are a laughable amount for the time it took this time around.

All things considered, it's basically still the slowest he's ever been. Not sure if I'd call that "not bad".
It's going to be more like ~4.5 renders per day, ~5.4 if you count scene creation and rendered scenes @ 100%, the time he spends actually creating and rendering.

Either way, less than great.

How do you get that number? Dev-cycle started November 22nd, and a release around the 4th of February would be 75 days of development. 290 renders in 75 days are 3.86 renders per day. We always count from one release to another.

Here's numbers for every release since this project has started.

Our wording might be off. It's not like he's creating 3.86 renders per day, but more like the players are getting 3.86 renders for each day they had to wait until release.

Now, just before the update, here's another attempt at speculation about the upcoming event. The last teaser we saw is, roughly estimated, 100 images before the end of this update. It shows a Sophia with the new haircut, nothing sexual.
It seems that the sexual interaction with Claire has already been completed. However, with 100 images, there is a possibility that we have only seen some kind of foreplay from Claire. (Also, the last teaser shows that the straps of Sophia's blouse are not yet back over her shoulder).
If we assume that there is another seduction attempt by Claire and that Dylan returns to the barbershop alone from the date with Marie in the cafe, he will get the chance to observe the sexual interaction between Sophia and Claire.
Only this time, unlike the yoga event, he gets caught.
Both Sophia and Dylan will be embarrassed by the situation, both will feel guilt and fear of the possible consequences. From the subsequent conversation between Sophia and Dylan, the alliance/complicity develops. Both can blame the other for their behavior but both must also fear exposure. But Dylan must also admit that he enjoyed watching and Sophia that she is sexually open to extramarital sex and that she is "possibly" bisexual.
Also, there is the approach to SexEd (Sophia will explain to Dylan that a woman knows exactly how to sexually stimulate a woman) and the cuckold route (a lesbian event is a good start because the jealousy factor will not play such a role for Dylan).

Wholly crap, being rather new to this game i didn't know how atrocious this was, reading the post you linked was shocking...

The concept of extending the days like a crazy, seems like a way to keep releasing "something" while keeping the progress at a snails pace, ingenious actually.

certainly the wording is wrong as L&P does not take all 75 days to render. there is also photoshop and translation. but basically the end user has 3.86 renders per day. just always follow the same type of evaluation for each update. so we have mean value
