VN - Ren'Py - A Wife and Mother [v0.215f] [Lust & Passion]

This game has some amazing renders but that's all it has going for it. I actually like good writing in a porn game but that's not the case in this.

In order to extend "corruption" as much as possible the MC is written like a maladjusted retard. We are talking about a 30+ yo MILF who apparently doesn't know why she is getting that "funny felling" in her lower regions when in a spicy situation. Or can't recognize that horny young stud is rubbing his boner on her and it's not "something innocent". For some reason this hot mother of two has general awareness issues, failing to see everyone in her life but her hubby, wants to bang the shit out of her. This approach may work in other games involving much younger, inexperienced characters but it surely does not in a suburban MILF game.

It's a shame because this dev makes some good renders. But in their effort to make an ultra-realistic porn game they ended up making an unrealistic game with no porn in it.

EDIT - v0.115 (30/12/20) : Years later, and it's pretty obvious to me that this game's development is purely financially driven. A game stuck in limbo, running around its tail by choice. The lowest possible rating is well deserved for that reason alone.

A Wife and Mother has been a game with great potential since the beginning. It has been over 1,5 years since the start of the development and I'm now asking myself.. Where is the story, where is the character progression, and most of all, where is the sex?

Of course, this is an erotic game, not a porn game and I completely understand that. But it is lacking in all those departments, except for the render quality, which is is still very good. However, this alone is not enough to give this game any more than 1,5 stars, which you can't give anyway. I dont find it worth 2/5 stars at this time, it has been too long in development without any real progress to be worth that.

There was quite a bit of progression in this update (finally) and the quality of the renders is still very good. I am updating my review to a 3/5 for now. The development progress is still way too slow in my opinion.

Update after 0.09

I have come to an acceptance that this game has slow progression and the rewards make it just so much better. The kissing scene in the shower was great. Changing my vote once again to 4/5 this time. Time between releases is simply too long for this pace of sexual progression. Really enjoying the game though.

Although the quality of AWAM renderings is excellent, the absence of sex scenes and excessive eroticism keep the game monotonous and tedious. The story of the game is good, but there is almost no progress of the characters until the current version (0.0775), which keeps the game even more melancholy. Playing AWAM is the same feeling of going for a jog in the park on a treadmill, it just does not make any sense.

4 stars and not 5 stars only due to the development time and story pacing being really bad for the first half of the game. I don't really want to go into it all again (I have a few times in the discussion) but I have the same basic pros/cons as most here. Really high quality but a bit slow in story and dev time.

I'd recommend adding another person that can render or write script (preferably render as I actually enjoy the devs vision in this story). Having someone else to churn out renders would likely help release times immensely.


Really good overall and it still has a chance to earn that 5th star.

Quite enjoyed the renders. The dialogue seemed 'fun', and I love the fact that the MC isn't "I'm going to take all the D..." it seems like a slowburner for the start; which is great. Hoping it will reach completion.

Re- Edit: After a period of intensive analysis and hindsight I decided to re-review the game.
Pro (No particular order):
1. Gorgeous Renders, several changes of environment, and well constructed angles.
2. Well crafted overall storylines; the story arcs are clearly being set.
3. 'Atractive' models
4. Not the ' straight to sex and corruption' type of game

Cons (Top of the list being the most con - bottom being the least):
1. Inconsistent updates, both in terms of content and time frames.
2. Incompletion hazard - potential money sucking leech
3. Specific scenes (or main character) display incoherent writing - especially regarding nudity or sexual acts - which does not effect the over arching story, but leads to a disconnection from immersion.
4. 'Too much' filler writing. Most of the 'filler' content is Sophia and her internal monologues. Normally, some introspect is welcomed in order to provide a fuller character body however it is excessive. Should try to allow the player to fill in the blanks sometimes. Personally, I cannot call that character development, for it doesn't develop character. It mostly repeats the usual, already presented, objections.
5. Little to no replayability - Routes are rather samey with slight exceptions. Biggest route differences come from last update; they mostly emerge from one single decision.

In summary: A Wife and Mother presented itself as an evolution to the typical porn game, as a few select others have achieved. However, once the initial playthrough has subsided, you realise there is not much replayability, that the writing is rather quirky, and waiting for a new update will most certainly be a disappointment. It is inevitable to view AWAM as a future abandoned project, especially in light of the absurd amount of money it has been generating since its conception. I have no criticism for those who support the developer, for his initial game concept was more than promising; one can only hope for more developers to move into quality construction in order to gain community support. Unfortunately, it seems that promising future is slowly dripping away from us.

Hm, where to start? When I started the game, I was tending to 4-5 stars. The arts are really great and the story was promising. To be honest, the story still is. But, and here comes the but, what is really annoying is the fact that we are at v075 now and there is nearly no progress.
Don't get me wrong, I like games with slow speed in h-content, but I have more and more the feeling that the dev wants to suck patrons money as long and much as possible (which is ok so far), but just can't deliver what he promised. That's why I stopped donating and even playing Awam. Meanwhile, I am just dissapointed.
I hope that there will be a change and more regular updates, I surely would return.

If you are looking for a porn novel, then this isn't for you, but if you are looking for an erotic novel that has many quality erotic scenes, then this Visual Novel is for you.

This is a good Visual Novel with great potential, but it's now taken way too long to actually get anywhere with the main character. Lots of great scenes but it's long past time for Sophia to be corrupted and go all the way with someone who isn't her husband, been a few opportunities for it to happen but the developer has not pulled the trigger.

This novel doesn't jump right in, it does take its time and it should to a point.

We all want to see the good stuff, but this VN has some brilliant scenes that clearly show a slow corruption of the Main Character, not going to spoil the scenes here but there is a lot of erotic scenes in this VN that will allow your imagination to run wild.

There is also so much depth to the story as there are many characters in this VN. This sometimes means you may need to wait longer than you like for the developer to cycle back to a character, but that is fine to a point. However, it is getting tedious waiting years for something to be followed up.

The graphics are tremendous as well, which is not really surprising with today's technology, but each character and location is unique to itself that you believe you are interacting with different people and at different locations.

I also haven't had any issues with bugs in this Visual Novel either.

Clearly, this was a favourite of mine, it's unique and brilliant in some ways and is only going to get stronger and even better over time. Just not sure my interest holds long enough to get there, which is why I went from 5 stars to 3 stars.

This game has potential, but I feel like it's kind of a waste .

The bad :
There's a lot of conversations/thoughts (textual content) for very little nudity and zero porn scenes in the bad wife path (don't know about the good wife one).
The development is so slow, it is frustrating.
The transitions (black screens betweens scenes) are way too long and it's really boring for the player.
The story is not that interesting : the mc's family could have a really more exciting life.
Give an unexpected answer can lead to miss nudity scenes (for exemple, I have given 23 good answers out of 24 to develop a relation with a character, but the scene required 24 good answers, it's kind of harsh).

The good :
The graphics are well made and pleasants.
There are many locations.
The mc is hot.
The story is not all bad, there are some interesting developments.

Damn this game is boring. Quantity over quality all the way. It has many characters, it has many scenes, it has many locations, it has many dialogues, but that's it. It has zero content. The characters are shallow, empty thropes, the scenes are boring, as they are literally about the life of a boring ass suburban housewife, the dialogues are the same. I have more interesting conversations with my colleagues every single day than the characters in this game. Sure, the renders look good, the characters aren't balloon tit adolescent-boy-fantasies, but that's all.
And before I'll be accused of expecting more H-scenes, I don't. I expect a game with good writing, entertaining story, interesting characters, and engaging dialogues. It has neither.

This is a game about faithful and reserved housewife slowly being tempted into forbidden relationships. This type of story needs a slow start and careful pacing. Most of the negative reviews here are tied directly to the impatience of players who want sex before it makes sense for the characters. I understand their frustrations, but its misguided to judge this game harshly for wanting to be a different type of porn game. If you want to watch Terminator 2 and get Citizen Kane you will get pissed, doesn't mean CK isn't a great movie. Definitely one of the better titles I've played and has some of the higher quality writing I've seen. While there are parts that really don't make much sense, the majority is strong in my opinion. The renders are very well done as well and I look forward to seeing where it goes.

The scenes are well done. But it's not really a sexual game or you just have to see teasing scenes with little sex appeal.

Wait 2 years for the character to integrate scenes with sex for a sexual game. it's not really good. it's a money pump.

it's too bad because the universe was interresting and the characters too.

First of all, I hate it when I have to skip a good portion of the VN, because most of it is boring. This is a sign, that the writing, even though extensive, is boring and convoluted and not worth reading. I skipped most of the game and still know what happened (almost nothing of note).

Some creators know how to manage a slower buildup. They use some filler sex scenes with other characters while the main focus characters get mostly teasing scenes to make get you interested, but not "blow your load" too soon. And that was just one example. Others do it with humour or with sweet and heartwarming scenes.

This VN has none of it. The buildup is almost nonexistent, because it doesn't evolve. It's a constant unchanging line of nothingness. There is no curve. The dialogues are not interesting, because people are talking about stuff you don't care about or people you don't care about. And if there will finally be some even vaguely interesting scene, it will be a disappointment after all this waiting for some interesting content. The lack of porn content wouldn't be a problem, but there is lack of a story itself. Now almost every scene in the game is the same. Sofia encounters some random dude or dudes, he or they hit on her or her female friends, or at least make some slight sexual advances, if they are really aggressive, the go for a bit of groping, and then everyone goes their separate ways. And you don't see most of the people involved ever again. And why use a showers/bathroom scene with Sofia being shy in front of (always some different) men like 5 times with the exact same outcome? Come on, do a story, not a repetition of 1 scene.

There is too many characters who don't have much going for them, because they are tropes. "That sexy trainer.", "That sexy cheerleader", "That innocent girl", "That creepy guy.", "The Thug", etc. They don't have anything interesting to do, or even say. And the worst part is, that a lot of those characters show up for only 1 or 2 scenes. Where are the movers? The guys from gym? And why not use the already established characters in more scenes instead of some random ones? That could actually mean some character development, which is something the author probably hates, though... or at least forgot about.

Yes, there is a lot of pictures in different scenes and they are very well rendered. The characters look good, and there are some of the most attractive models I have seen in DAZ3D based VN. Even though a lot of them are not edited, but straight from the DAZ3D library, they are chosen well.

The problem is, that in those scenes, the dialogue goes nowhere, you don't learn anything important about the characters, and if you don't want to bore yourself to death, you skip the rest of dialogue, because the topic is not even important in the story. Hell, even the scene doesn't push the story forward.

There is a term called "Chekhov's gun", which basically means, you set up something and later you actually use it. Lust & Passion should look that up for inspiration, not make a hundred unrelated scenes that don't lead anywhere. Porn aspect aside, the story really needs to become a story, not a disjointed set of scenes. And the characters need to develop, not be a ton of random side characters whom you don't see ever again while the main ones stay the same forever.

Also a saying: Show, don't tell...

I wanted this VN to be good, because the initial setup and the character models looked really good. It could have been a 5 star game, because the setup is straightforward and simple, the renders are great, but the lack of actual story and porn drags it to the ground. It's just plain boring at this point. Occasionally I am stupid enough to waste my time downloading and then holding "ctrl" to skip the boring text, but...

P.S. There is a beautiful parody of this game in one other game. I won't say it's name, because it's against the rules. It's basically everything I have wrote here, but put in a funnier, shorter way. xD

I loved this game... maybe slow progress, but so good.

The sheer qty of images and story is unlike most other games I have played.

The amount of Characters involved in the story is easily 20+ all with detailed interactions. Nothing generic

I down graded the game to 4 stars. I still appreciate the game as per above, but...

The little amount of sex in this game is really off putting at this stage on both the Good wife or filthy route. It's becoming unrealistic.

The leading lady is becoming very horny, but in two plus weeks in-game time, can not tell her husband to make a plan? They are married for Pete sake.

I'm all for the slow burn, but it does not make sense in a married setting.

[I make patience and not change my rating until now despite the unacceptable slow developing progress and some other things but the last update was very disappointing so now it is time to change my rating from 4 stars to 1 star because the dev makes me to lost interest to one of my favorite games when it comes out back to 2017]

I make my first review for 0.07 version 21 months before. Unfortunately the developing progress instead of going faster as the dev gets more experience, more money and reach goals that supposed to let him to spend more time on the game and upgrade the PC hardware, the result was the opposite. The game is becoming a milking machine and my initial prediction that it will be completed around 2024 is not realistic. At this rate the game will be completed after 15-20 years or most likely never.

The side stories, the dialogues and the scenes especially at the last update wasn't as good as was before. Also added more side stories with this slow developing progress make things worse but maybe it is useful for milking purposes. Also it seems that lately the dev starting to focus too much at lesbian staff something that I don't like so much. The different paths of the game and the point system is still unclear and confusing at this point. Finally the taboo part of the story which initially was one of the main parts of the game seems to stay behind and I doubt that it will finished or even progressed considerably at all.

This is game started great but ended up a money laundering scheme. Is the EA's distant cousin. It it promises to be the next best thing (with trailers for EA and a demo in this case) and when u see the final result u realise what a fool you were. It's a game set in the present times but with the morals of 1900. Sorry dev but nobody has time 4 you to finish the game (2 to 4 fucking years). And at this moment Jessica O’Neil and TAC to name a few, surpasses by this game.
P.S. the dev should listen to his patreons and not make them stupid.

Imagine a woman so far removed from society that even being seen in a bikini would be shocking. Lowering the strap of a dress revealing the top of a breast would be a scandal.

Of course you'd expect that woman to be from the 1920's and live life in a convent because for a mother from the suburbs to act that way would be moronic as all hell.

Yet here it is.

The writing isn't great. The mother has some of the most painful scenes i've ever had to force myself to read through. That scene with the bikini though. The word cringe is overused but it fits.

The only thing stopping me marking it lower than a 2 is the lesbian potential.

If some of the shit scenes were redone or removed, the writing given a bit of an overhaul and the plot to gain some actual meaning it could be an average game.

As it stands it's a slow paced snooze fest lacking in every single way.

I see people excited about the mother daughter lesbian "build" but that must just be from incest fans because both of them have a gaping chasm where their personalities should be.

If you are a fan of stories that don't seem to serve a purpose with characters so wooden they could be extra's on Thunderbirds and such a lack of sex even my balls turned blue .... AND I DON'T FUCKING HAVE ANY ..... then this is for you. If you like a good plot, characters and meaningful sex or even sex for the hell of it then look elsewhere, this will leave you disappointed.

The mother/daughter build I mentioned a year ago has only progressed to a kiss but beyond that it hasn't changed pace or improved in any way.

A story doesn't need sex to make it good which I guess is this games saving grace because even sex couldn't make this complete bore fest entertaining.

This game is one of the worst games I've ever played. It got hyped beyond what it really is because of a sizeable demo at the release. Once people are hooked into his patreon, his quality of work quickly declined. Deadlines are being missed, size of updates continue to consistently get smaller too. What started as a 1 game day per update becomes half-day per update.

The render is beautiful, but the game feels like a turd covered in gold leaves. The story is non-existent. The character development is very minimal. The characters are also very unrealistic as if being written by someone who are not really aware what it's like to be in real world.

There are many good suggestions being thrown around on the forum, especially early on. However, the dev has proven to be extremely stubborn in realizing the game true to his vision. While it can be admirable, unfortunately the dev hasn't shown the ability to handle the (expected) criticism that he ended up copping from the people. This is to the point of simply insulting other people as stupid for having different opinion than him.

Final note, at the current writing of the review, we are on Day 7 out of 30. With roughly 2 months per update, and half-day in game per update, we're looking at 26 more updates which equate to 52 more months until completion. That's around middle of 2023.

In simple conscience, I cannot recommend this game.
