Ok, is what I understand at first glance. Well...I really think that SilkenTRG is the right person to address this question cause she also talk with the Dev and she's quite clear about what she's thinking on this matter.
I'll give you my opinion anyway
I think the author is delivering what he/she/they want, and I think is a story focus on the MC watching his wife becoming a slut (I don't like that definition) and apparently a QOS. Theres a different path (faithfuk I guess) but the Dev isn't giving much atention.

"Should he get his wife to quit her job or support her to get rid of their financial problems? What will the consequences of his choice be?"

Is it really 2 playable paths in this game? Would my choice affect the game?
I've tried choices in Port Heaven, I like it, but it doesn't affect the plot much it seems (at least for now). That's fine but I am curious to find a game where I can play 2 different scenarios after making in-game choice

Yes and no and yes and no.

There are TECHNICALLY two paths. The NTR/Cheating path which is essentially the rape debate.
And the non NTR path which is broken, like the other path but more so, and only really doable if
you don't try and watch every porn video in the game. You can NOT cheat on your wife with ANYONE.
Seems there are a few on here that don't consider having a sexual relationship with Katherine or
Jenaveve cheating. Weeeeelll. It is. And if the actual Wife Cheating path worked Chris and Rick would
have video evidence of the MC cheating and show her. Which is what drives her to cheat on YOU.
The camp is just rape fantasy. That doesn't change.

If you aren't on the NTR/Cheating path the female MC will leave the camp. The Mom stays there.
Together the wife and MC will try and protect the step sister from the camp (and this is where Kerosene
decided to take a poll on Patreon that led to the sissification path for the MC and stopping the non rape
path. Supposedly, they will get back to that at some point. Right now their avid hatred for their MC
continues. So if you, like me, have left the camp, there is no more content.. yet.

Oh yeah, do your choices matter? Sometimes. Choosing not to smoke with Samuil and not choosing the
NTR plus path does work for the leaving the camp path. But it's broken and the female MC will smoke any
way for no reason at all... not like she wasn't raped or anything by these people...
Having a relationship with Jenaveve and Katherine are broken with missing content. So no matter what you
choose they go nowhere. Choosing not to watch your wife get raped and stopping it at the night club will cause
her loyalty to the MC to go through the roof..

For now.

But that's because they copy and pasted that event from A Wife's Phone so it still has it's remnant
pathing. Choosing to have sex with Katherine in the storage room will cause Rick to show the female MC
the video of it at the café when he's trying to hook up with her. TECHNICALLY this event is what makes
Chris hate the MC, but it's broken with missing content.

As far as i've read here there is actually only 1 choice that leads to actual story branching, if MC helps his wife and leaves the camp or if he doesn't. And the "leave camp" option hasn't seen much content so far.

The most noticable thing about that game is how it manages to trigger people into comming up with better stories for how poorly the MC is written. xD

The "technically there are 2 paths" has to be taken with a grain of salt. The parameters for gathering points to trigger different events are there, but those doesn't change the behavior of the MC's wife nor is there any content for non-cheating events for the wife in the sourcecode.

Well my opinion on this game so far is that you focusing too much on one path when there are multiple paths you said that your base has plateaued its because you aren't listening to your whole fan base and only listening to the sissy cuckolds and staying on that path I see at least 3 different routes FAITHFUL ROUTE where wife leaves camp the one CUCKOLD SISSIFICATION ROUTE and one where the cuckold training videos backfire and makes him want to DOMINATE ALL THE WOMEN in the game you taking a poll clearly it's stopping you from getting more money because you're only focused on one thing Branch out do more and I'm guaranteeing your money flow will raise stop listening to only the people who pay in you high amounts you'll get more subscribers if you take theses other routes into account

Wellllll.... complicated is probably not the right word and none of it was deliberate. Well not completing
what they should have was, at least, a conscious thought. A Wife's Life is as deep as taking a fine watch (aka another
game) and hitting it with a sledgehammer. It's complicated to figure out just what your doing or looking at and
even more complicated to repair. With loads upon loads of frustration and anger at being made to endure all this
for no clear reason other than the writer hates his own main character on some weird personal level.
A Wife's Life isn't even NTR. It's watching a generally likable guy slowly get lobotomized, and pissed on for several
updates. He is LITERALLY unable to do anything but go to work and read his phone. maybe go to a bar to get pass
out drunk when the writer needs him further incapacitated for some reason. The wife stuff is just a side note in a game
called a WIFE'S LIFE. It should be called A Wasted Life. Because any good element or creativity is severely wasted.

Yes I know. I hard simped for this a while ago. That ship sailed. Now I'm helping other people make better stories
while Kerosene continues to dig a ditch he can't get out of.

Write something with depth and details, meaningful, colorful, smart, funny, compelling, thrilling or whatever you want to be that work, is as hard as what you do with the same complexities of depth and details, meaningful, colorful, smart, funny, compelling, thrilling and whatever you want to do with your work.
You know...I totally can see you and Silken TRG collaborating in a Kinetic Novel, not a game, ART, a Visual Novel.

No. What people, including me, want is a well written, well rounded story without a zillion
plot holes, inconsistencies and downright metagaming from the writer. The problem is people
willing to eat shit for the sake of jerk bait. The wife doesn't stray. She gets events dropped on her
that have no real reason for occurring. A rabid badger could fuck her in the camp parking lot and a 3rd
of you would praise the writer for it while the rest of us with functional brains would call it out as stupid
and out of place. It's not NTR, its rape fantasy where every man is a degenerate with no sense of self control.
All but the MC, who has no ability to do jack shit, not because it's his character but because the writer literally
will not allow him to one way or another. And in the end, after mind control and drugs they have to force shit to
happen invasively because a bunch of clapping monkeys are drooling for more MC abuse. You're not reading
this to fap to a wife's adultery, your reading this to fap to the next awful thing to happen to a guy nailed to
a chair. He doesn't have a small dick. We can see it on the damn porn videos. And yet he's being bullied
about having a small dick. What? He can definitely please his wife and yet we're told he was premature
ejaculation... no he doesn't. Plus neither Katherine nor Jenaveve seem to notice this about him.
Because there are so many hands in this that nothing ever makes sense.

It could make sense if Kerosene went back and fixed all the technical issues but he has no plan to.
So I was going to do that. I have since stopped production because it would never end.

No one wants a faithful anything. They want good story telling with meaningful options that WORK.

You can not AT ALL avoid the rape camp. PERIOD. Never intended. That is not infidelity. That is rape fantasy.
Chris blackmailing the wife is broken and incomplete pathing. If fixed it would make sense why this is happening.

A Wife's Life has enormous potential to be good. That's why I supported it. That's why I was working on
a remaster of it. It's why I was in Kerosene's group and why I friended him. I still think it can be better.
But no while his path is driven by morons throwing money at him and actively destroying the story through
Patreon.

Some people just like to eat shit. It's unavoidable. But the majority of us don't. And don't like this story
becoming shit.
