So i played up until the wife quits the job at the camp and is back with the MC. But from what I read, it doesn't really even matter because no matter what you do, shes gonna end up sleeping with your boss and friend willingly and the only way to end the cycle is to leave her and save your sister. Does that sound about right?

No. Wife can choose not to sleep with the friend but does sleep with the boss to end his money hold, and then the MC can choose to leave with or without the wife ... and stepsister goes with him/them and is saved. His mother is lost in both outcomes.
