This is the second time I've seen someone claiming beta->alpha. That's not how it works. That's never been how it works. A game in alpha might use generic assets, like literally just the stickman skeleton of the character model. A beta tends to be a mostly systems complete game that needs testing. In regards to an actual game on this site, most of what we see here might be called a vertical slice or simply a proof of concept.
"Games" like this would struggle to justify being called a proof of concept bc we already have this exact same concept done 1,000 times and done better. Even most of the AI games out there put more work into the visuals of the game than we've seen here. How many non-generic renders do we have in this game? How many of these videos and candids were just ripped straight off of Pornhub or some other site? They didn't even try to deepfake their characters face onto another persons body, they just straight up use random amateurs uploads. It takes a lot of work to be this lazy.
You can't say "Oh, we'll be different by the time our game is finished." When your concept is so generic already, we would have to be stupid to believe you. This is your game. You have to set yourself apart from the competition, not just blend into being another generic iteration of the same concept. And when the one thing that sets you apart is your AI art, you need to actually use it enough to justify your game being different.
That is, in fact how "beta" and "alpha" works. You have that completely backward, my dude.
Beta is a Work In Progress build of a game, released, usually privately (hence CBT - Closed Beta Test).
Where as an Alpha build is distributed live for open play. "Open Alpha" or "Early Access Alpha."
The completed game is also referred to as the Alpha of the build. "Wife's Loyalty: Prologue" began as
a beta demo. A Proof of concept. To see how much interest there would be for it.
It was not the Alpha build of the Prologue. We released that later. Yes, I know people were confused
about the 1.0 marker. Prologue Beta was more 0.5, whereas Alpha was the actual 1.0.
Since I'm the one who does those videos, animations and "generic" character artwork, you can feel
free to ask me anything you like. I like some good discussions.
And now that I'm here, we can discuss.
And while we're ON THE TOPIC of "generic" you should really check my Linktree and if you have
Instagram actually see what it is I do and the process that goes into it. My and the guys really put
a lot into Wife's Loyalty and actually care about our community. And I like to share my work openly
for whoever wants to see it
I'll be here to answer any questions you all have this week. Because it is an amazing week!
