The completed game is also referred to as the Alpha of the build. "Wife's Loyalty: Prologue" began as
a beta demo. A Proof of concept. To see how much interest there would be for it.
It was not the Alpha build of the Prologue. We released that later. Yes, I know people were confused
about the 1.0 marker. Prologue Beta was more 0.5, whereas Alpha was the actual 1.0.

Since I'm the one who does those videos, animations and "generic" character artwork, you can feel
free to ask me anything you like. I like some good discussions.

And now that I'm here, we can discuss.

Just so you know, the original poster's comment was the correct one. Alpha comes before Beta. Both terms in the software industry are "soft" defined (meaning their definitions have quite a bit of variance from one use to the next), but alpha being the less complete, less stable, and simply an earlier stage of production is pretty much the one consistently true component. As for being able to type the words "Closed Beta" and "Open Alpha," I can just as easily type the words "Closed Alpha" and "Open Beta." Typing such a phrase doesn't prove anything. All 4 of the above phrases have been used by software companies at one time or another. They all 4 are things that can and sometimes do exist. It depends on what developers need to test and what kind of feedback they are looking for.

Much as I would love to check it out, I dont trust a single one of those download sites for Win/Linux. What is really not selling me is the fact that Mega and GoFile are used for both of the other releases.

Viking one is okay, got even a CAPTCHA, usualy I only download either from MEGA or Gofile myself, but i took a risk and tried Viking one and that was pretty good, no red flags, no warnings, the other ones still have keyloggers and other crap on them, so would not touch those either.

Well it was a pretty great update, loved how the shrink was a normal lady and very understanding like a real shrink should be. Just hate the cliffhanger, lol, why would the detective send that if you were whole the time with your wife even in the gym. Seems the detective not even listened and just follows your wife and not really look into what Luna doing like you asked.

Okay. This I will weigh in on. AT NO point in this story is the FMC willfully disloyal.
She is 100 percent loyal to the MC UNLESS your choices make her that way.
Every character in this is flawed but redeemable. And "the best friend" is not trying
to break up the MC's marriage. Is she making some really selfish destructive choices? Yes.
Is the FMC okay with this? NO.
Is the MC okay with this.. well that depends on you.

Loyalty is earned, not bestowed. And you can be 100 percent loyal and find yourself
tested and put through all kinds of trials. If you're knee jerk reaction is to cast immediate
judgement, l then that's on you. Not our characters. Who are actually trying to cope and
learn and grow. That doesn't mean it's not okay to dislike Luna. Luna herself would say
"Have at it."

Again, there is a big difference to how the post I was referencing was using alpha/beta tags and how it is actually used in practice. Most games that are in alpha don't have "betas," they just have test patches, test servers, etc. Games don't go back and forth between alpha and beta unless there are catastrophic problems. As far as that aspect goes, we're arguing semantics though. May as well be arguing that Twitch bans aren't actually bans (they aren't), that they're suspensions. Misusing the language doesn't change what it is, even if everyone references it as if it does.

I do think you're significantly further along than most similar games when you brought this game to market. I think the AI work is better than most of what's being done by others, but this is still a heavily flawed project with hundreds of derivatives that beat you to the punch. Congratulations on using generic renders as backgrounds - that is an improvement over the typical phone VN, but you still took a very simplistic formula requiring very little work. Compare the unique render work to any traditional VN and tell me that it isn't seriously lacking. There's another VN released yesterday heavily using AI, can't "promote" other games or I'd give you the name, that has more AI generated animations than your game has renders, period.

The story itself, as others have pointed out, isn't that great. One guy is arguing that NTR is avoidable - which is true in a sense. The MC either gets NTR'd or she breaks up with you so she can fuck around. Yet the relationship itself is very clearly broken by the time the story starts. People have argued that both characters have plenty of reason to end this relationship and our MC basically seems to stick around in hopes of getting NTR'd? It just doesn't make sense - both characters should just move on and it's clear by the time we get through 1/10th of what was released. And that's an issue bc we can't relate to these characters bc their actions are completely irrational based on the information we're given. I'm not saying it needs to be introduced slowly, we just need a grounded relationship for this behavior to be acceptable within. Otherwise, we should just end the relationship and thus the game within moments of it starting.

I don't do creative writing anymore because to be honest I suck at dialog (like bad bad ), so I try to avoid being mean when I criticize others writing, but... I don't think I can be truthful here without being a little (or maybe a lot) mean.

I would have assumed the reason this got written this way was

A. because the wife is supposed to be a manipulative bitch that the MC needs to get away from ASAP, but this quote from (who appears to be) a dev seems to throw some water onto that idea.

B. The writer forgot they weren't writing in a vacuum, thus unintentionally creating the hypocrisy (basically a season 1 Amber from Invincible situation... God I hope this is the reason).

C. The writer is a massive simp, that thinks a woman doing this (multiple times) is better than a man doing it (once) (Pathetic).

D. The writer is the kind of thot that that thinks a woman doing this (multiple times) is better than a man doing it (once) (Evil).

The worst part of this whole thing is it could have been avoided if the wife reacted the same way the MC does/can, just take a fucking breath and ask what happened.


And before anyone thinks I just an anti-NTR/drama guy throwing a hissy fit, I'm just anti badly written NTR/drama. (I read and loved "Love & Jealousy" for God's sake... even if that story broke me)
