Ren'Py - A Wife's Phone [v0.5.0] [Bloody Ink]

The game is decent, so this is mostly my personal review of the game. I'm not a NTR Fan I hate it but if you are into that you will not be disappointed in this one because there is alot of it. The premise in it self in my opinion is good I haven't seen a game like this game on this site before but with the success of this game we will see more. I really enjoy the solo kinda romantic paths like Wife's Sister, Stepsis, Cecilia and a few other paths. I can tell the Creator puts alot of time into the game and it is easy to navigate. I like that fact you can turn off paths if you don't want to see the ntr but at the same time you'll be on a solo path then all of a sudden "Oh someone added them to the app" so then you gotta try to "attempt" to stop it but you really have no control, so they end up blowing the dude and becoming a slut. It can get frustrating. The mind control in the app doesn't really matter at all. I put Valerie cheating stat to zero and her BBC Stat to 0 but she still ends up fucking behind your back its really annoying. You can turn off different paths but it seems it doesn't really matter because the bitch "JENNA" is constantly fucking with your life. All in all tho I do enjoy the romantic paths, I saw in the genre of this game that NTR Was avoidable that's why I picked it up but you have no control over it and that sucks. I hope when the game is finished there is a avoid all NTR At the beginning of the game so I can enjoy it without being pissed while playing this. I'm not knocking the Creator or knocking people who enjoy this game, just my personal assessment of my experience.

Review of version 0.4.2.

The good: Many hot situations if you are into the kinks listed. Good usage of messages. Attractive people in images and videos. OnlyFaps is a brilliant concept for corrupting your partners.

Could be improved:
At times confusing and contradicting paths. You could at the same time see your wife cheating and in another thread being faithful. You could be really concerned of her faithfulness while you are banging three ladies yourself..
If you say no to someone early you could be locking down content much later (looking at you Kirely). There needs to be some control of what paths are compliant with each other and a logical sequence of them.
I think half of the people should be removed, and a more focused story developed.

User interface. Sooo much klicking to make things happen.
Silly background story, but on the other hand it's a porn game.
Did I mention the carpal tunnel syndrom you might develop while clicking ?

Anyhow. The concept behind the game is sound. Improve the implementation.
Worth playing already now if you like the kinks, and you can avoid some of them if you like (e.g. feminization is a simple "I don't want that").

Definitely an 4/5 Star Game.

Just based on sheer amount of content currently in game.

Very well written and can feel a bit grindy.


The only reason this is not a 5/5 is because this can be showcased as a classic example of content creep (On in this case Branch/ Route Creep).
As most routes are based on Patreon votes, there is no clear direction for the story and with multiple routes, the story can get confusing.

My 2 cents would be to focus on 1-2 routes MAX per update until that route is finished as per the bigger picture. Once they are finished, re-divert to the next route.


What I mean by that is THIS UPDATE ALONE (0.4.2) had 306 Steps spread across more than 11 route/branches. if that had been reduced to 3-4 branches we are looking at close to 100+ to 75+ steps PER ROUTE. More than sufficient to Finish a route.


I have spent the last 3 days trying to finish this skipping most of the texts of chars that I didn't find interesting and it STILL ISNT FINISHED!!!

tldr; Easy recommend, Tons of content and TOP OF THE LINE models.

Came back again to finally give my review after a second chance. Version 0.4.2

I'm not a big fan of the mind control gimmick, mostly cause it's used to cover lazy writing and this game uses it but I was willing to give it a shot anyway cause the concept is good, the phone interface is neat and nice even if I think it should have some more interactions at this point...not much creativity since first iteration.

The downside of the phone concept is that every interaction to the story is very limited cause it's over text messages, which leads me to another downside. FAR TOO MUCH USELESS TEXT. when people text, they use abbreviations and "lazy" typing, none of this is seen in a supposedly phone centric game which is just missing the ball big time. And since the story happens mostly over text, or the rare update on one of the characters instagram it feels so stagnant and repetitive. The text message are just more of the same, hardly any new or exciting story developments, just the same verbose text dialogues. Find another medium to tell the story, and not just in text messages over the phone. *spams mouse*

Give a character a blog that you can snoop on, or maybe let me see their search history, what they are looking up and browsing for. I don't wanna see even more text messages from another point of view...stop it...just stop. Such a lack of creativity since first release is just sad. There's so little things I can do with the phone and we're so many updates in...
Either limit the text in these interaction over the phone, or let me scroll the text instead of clicking it.

Another downside, arbitrary grinding to get to the "storyline" you are interested in. Just one irrelevant text message after the other with no actual story driven dialogue or INTERESTING exchange at all. Interaction between the wife and the MC is incoherent and completely detached from the chosen story line in many cases. It's like there's no actual sense of character progression at all within herself and her interactions.

Which brings me to another downside, Too. Many. Storylines.
Pick a kink or two, make 2 paths, 3 at most. Willing cuck, forced cuck. Qos path or no qos path and insert this mind control app if the player wants it. Now you can focus on the story and the erotic parts.
Otherwise you get this incohesive mess, with no actual meaningful story, and since you've already limited the story telling by using this phone concept you are already in trouble. Telling parts of the story with the rare instagram posts is not enough as I said earlier, but it's better than another long-winded text message that's for sure.

This game had such an amazing start and potential and ended up being this mindless clicking simulator with a crawling dull story...what a shame.

This is the best game on this site, and one of the few where it's a pleasure to slow down and read the text. Completely orgasmic writing, and I find myself often on the edge my my seat waiting for the next line of text.


There are some foibles (pictures on one of the "apps" which don't flow with the narrative, etc.), but dang it's good.

It's one of best NTR games there is and very addictive. I usually don't like games with too many characters but this one handles the interactions between them just perfect without losing the focus on the main female character (the Wife).

I like the style and concept of this game, the phone interface and messaging works well as a story telling device. That said, there are "real world" interactions as well, which I don't think are used often enough, they are used more at the start.

Speaking of the start, it starts off very linear and single story focused. There is an hour or 2 of this "main" story line, which is quite good, well written and very sexy.

It all kinda falls apart when you reach the branching story lines and multiple path options. (though options might be a bit of a stretch, it seems like the options are either "continue" or "end" a given story line)

The different story lines often contradict each other with the relationships you have with each character, especially with wife. eg, (spoilers),
I'm hoping a future update will spend the time and effort into bringing all these stories into alignment, instead of just adding more words and content, go back and revisit the existing content and keep it all working together.

There are numerous technical issues as well, the interface is a mess, where notifications are useless as they get stuck on, there is a constant need to continually click to advance text. I wonder if there is any attempt to bring in some experienced devs to help clean that up as well...

Overview is misleading. Read other reviews and posts to get an understanding. Paths do not mesh well for character development.

And my god, the clicking. Gameplay is tedious, not slow burn.

The format is interesting, meant to be played on a phone, which is refreshing to see.

This game has potential. If you're into NTR and BBC this is a good game for you as you can turn every woman in your life into a BBC loving whore. There is also a whole feminization segment and trans element that I didn't play.

Now the bad. The code seems to be a god awful mess. There are bugs aplenty and the UI is incredibly inconsistent.

• You have to click three times to advance a day, although the middle time period seems to have no events. I don't know why it exists except to give yourself a little extra exercise in your clicking finger.
• You have weird interactions between story threads
  • My wife stopped talking to me in one "story thread" but at the same time proposed a threesome with another woman in the other thread on the same day.
  • Multiple events happen at the same time. I apparently spent the night with three women and one of them slept with another dude all on the same night.
• The status icons on the messages/wifeSpy app are so bad they are useless.

I get it that the writer isn't a programmer, but my god, how can you screw this up? I can only imagine that they have a separate variable tracking the number of messages that didn't get decremented correctly at some point and is now always running @ 1 when the system thinks it's at zero.

This is not the way you do something like this. Don't maintain a separate variable, but instead count the number of widgets (messages, events, or whatever) in real time. Computers are really fast. Don't store information that you can quickly calculate!

Buy a new mouse and/or keyboard before playing this game. Because you're gonna need it after the insane amount of clicking that you have to do to get through this game. This is easily the biggest clicks to erotic content ratio of any game on this site that I've ever played.

The sad part is, the game started pretty good. But after so many updates, you've got half a dozen story lines all happening at the same time, involving a variety of people, and the number of clicks has gone up exponentially.

Then to compound the "clicking" problem, the storylines don't even match. In one conversation, the wife's talking to a friend about how it felt after her first time cheating on her husband the past weekend, but in the very next conversation, she's talking to a different friend about how she doesn't think she could cheat on her husband and is shocked that her friend can do it so casually.

I haven't even touched on the fact that the story is absurd in the first place... but it's a porn game, so I'll let it go.

Dev needs to figure out how to shorten these conversations or speed them up. In addition, there's numerous storylines I have no interest in, but they're still on the damn phone. Maybe there are some convos you can ignore, like on a real phone, but I had story progression issues at one point and ended up going out of my way to make sure I checked every notification to make sure I didn't miss something.

Lastly, my left-click finger has fallen off from clicking the mother f'ing mouse button so many times, so, unfortunately, I'm done with this game. I'll just watch porn instead.

I have to say I was surprised by this game. Ren'py and real porn never worked for me but this is an incredible game. There are different paths you can take, with different kinks, there's a lot of content and I like most of the characters in the game. I really like how the wife doesn't change in a day an there's a corruption process. Knowing that this game hasn't been under development for long, makes me feel there's a lot more to come. One of the best game I played in this genre.

A Wife's Phone is a good game with an identity crisis.

It's good because there's a LOT of content here and the style is unique (whole game is played on a phone) and some scenes are really really hot.

But it seems like the developer wanted to please everyone and so it can get confusing because there are so many paths that dont really seem to be for the target audience of the game. It says cheating, NTR, harasment, feminisation, thats the big draw and what the game markets, but you can also play the game denying all these things and even being dominant. Why?

And it would be fine if it didnt get confusing with the choices. Some of the choices made me think "wait do I go to a dominant path if I take this?" for just simply not rolling over and giving some resistence to some of the characters. There are also whole characters you cant progress with or see more content with unless you try to make them have sex with you. It sucks the developer tried to create things for people who would never like or play this game in the first place because it just makes parts of the game weird and muddy.

At many points in the game I made choices I didnt really want to make, because it was like this: if you dont just tell your wife "yes baby I love it when you cheat on me" you lose access to the rest of the content or it can take you on a dominant path, just because you resist. And even in the main story with your wife, you have no choice but to end up being lovey dovey swingers together.

On the positive side, there is still some amazing things here the developer did right. The story with your wife and Greg is so good and hot, maybe the best cheating content I ever played. Jenna is awesome. Developer also did a very good job with how many pictures there are and how they are put into the game with the texting, plus also the videos. They mostly always feel natural and rarely out of place. The Instagram app also works really well for the same things, its a smart thing to include. Personally I thought the mindcontrol stuff was a little silly, I think the game could have been just fine if it wasnt included and it was just about spying and texting. I tried to use it as a little as possible, it never felt realistic at all. I like feminisation but I didnt use it in this game for the same reason, it felt out of place and not really logical.

So yes the game would be an easy 5/5, but it has to be a 4 because of things I said, like how the developer tries to cater to everyone instead of just focusing on the things that people who are drawn to this game would find hot like embarrassment, cheating, it makes the game confusing at points. You have to be careful with your choices if you want to play it like it seems like its supposed to be played...... And the cheating aspects, they dont really last, you just end up being happy swingers, so NTR lovers should look somewhere else.

There are a lot of good things in this game.

I like the UI and how the game works overall, I didn’t mind the switch to an “open world”, I actually liked the regular messages even when you beat the game, however those could use more variations.

I love the wife, and I love how Jenna is written in particular: both are really hot and keep you on the edge of your seat waiting for their next move.

I’ve really only got two major complaints that I hoped would get addressed in the previous releases:

It is an instant turn off for me when I can see that the videos are from various pornstars or amateurs and not Casey Calvert. Sometimes it’s alright since you don’t see her face, but most of the time it can’t be overlooked. I understand that the creator can’t always find videos that suit his script, however why not just scrap the idea and write a script that could suit a video with the actual actress? It breaks the immersion.
The second gripe I’ve got is with script inconsistencies.
TL;DR: to Bloody Ink : please use more videos that picture Casey Calvert, she’s amazing. And please go back and fix the script/replace some videos.

This is my first ever games review. I don't ever leave reviews, but for this game I have no choice. I have to. I have to spread the word about this game, and tell people what they are missing not playing this game....

So that being said, the first thing I have to say about this game is that this game is a absolute masterpiece. It's a slow burn and starts off quite slow, lots of reading needed, but it takes you on such a emotional, adrenaline filled rollercoaster ride of a journey. Playing it, I could very easily believe it was real life, and that it was my own wife or girlfriend that was the main character. That's how brilliant and creative the writing is.

The developer has clearly put hundreds and hundreds of hours of hard work in to the writing of this game, which in this type of game is what it's about, and weather this sort of game succeeds, or fails, depends on the quality of the wiring, and the story in which it takes you on. And I can honestly say, hand on heart, this is one of the best games that's ever existed, based on the quality of the wiring, and the story alone.

If that's not good enough for you, the imagery chosen, and the video's in game take it from a masterpiece, to a whole new level, if that's even possible. The images in game are hand picked by the developer absolutely perfectly.

I am trying to put it in to words, how spectacular and amazing, and clever this game is, but I'm struggling. What I am writing here does not do the game justice.

If you are one of these people who want to open the game, and get straight in to the action, then this game is not for you.

If you want to be taken on a erotic, emotionally filled rollercoaster ride of emotions, with a slow but exciting story. then this game is definitely worth playing, I already 100% completed the game, and after writing this review I'm going to go back and start from the beginning.

Well done developer, you've created an absolute masterpiece

This game went from good to average with a quickness.

The Good -

1. An absolute ton of kinks all jumbled into a single game.
2. Beaitiful models
3. Pretty Solid Layout (until it isn't)

The Bad -

1. The code is a GD mess. Its 10 balls of string thrown on a living room floor with 4 kittens going to town on them. Storylines are out of order. Things you absolutely turned off just happen anyways. One day your wife is like "I don't know if I like bbc." The same day she gets a text "Wanna bang 2 bbc today? and she responds "I LOVE BBC" . One day she says she has never cheated *and she meant it* and she cheated like 3 times the previous week.
2. The amount of clicking through is ABSOLUTELU BONKERS. Day night cycle SUCKS.
3. The dude demanded a billion dollars and the MC said ... dang!! I guess I have to do it... LMAO
4. Some storylines start up early and then fall off... BUT ... BUT then they show back up on day 200 of clicking. So insane.
5. The MC is a freakin window licker who somehow became a CEO (and lost his company via a text) so I guess that kinda works? He knows someone is fucking him over... he says to Jenna "I HATE YOU" and doesn't block her. I've blocked people because I didn't like their all caps texting or bad grammar...
6. Cognitive dissonance. Author needs to look it up.
7. What do I know? The author is prob making 5k a month making this jumbled mess of a game using other people's content (porn stars) in a renpy game. Doesn't mean it isn't broken all to hell though.

Easily one of the best NTR games around. Creates a lot of suspense and offers a game that feels somehow closer to life in a very different approach than the usual cookie-cutter ntr game. There are some inconsistencies still and the paths feel a bit disjointed.
There also is a LOT of clicking, so don't expect to be done in five minutes.
But it is worth it.

I love this game. It's amazing! I love the story, the pictures, videos everything. There are a couple of inconsistencies here and there but I can overlook them. As with all games there's a couple bugs but no to bad. I can't wait to see how this story turns out and where it leads. Especially when it comes to the story with the wife and son; wife and the brother-in-law and most of all wife and the queen of spades route.

Cool game and a nice story. I like the different story’s are funny and you can take a lot from f choices. Sometimes it’s lame when nothing more comes and you have a day without new things. I don’t like the part where you must watch the hypno parts. Every time the the videos. Maybe we need some new videos ?

One of the best games there is. Love the phone concept. the immersion is wonderful. I love the teasing and tempo, denials and natural conversation with characters. Cant wait for the updates. Subscribe to patrion, its a must.

This is more like a linear "Visual" (actually text with photos) novel than a sandbox game.
It has various relationships mixed together that appear in specific order to give a "sandbox effect".
Even though it has a counter system for number of days, corruption, resistance, cuckold, ntr, obedience, etc. none of these are taken in consideration or have any effect in the gameplay (except from 4 specific events).

So, as a Visual novel I'd give it a 4 stars.... but as a game play where the choices of the player affect the dialogs/events only 1 star.
