It definitely did. The first release was off to a great start. The story was engaging, advanced logically, and was well connected with the game world. As soon as it went sandbox all of that went out the window--not to mention that the billion dollar debt and the way in which the characters all collectively shrug at the way you lost your company is one of the worst deus ex contrivances I've ever seen.Sucks that BloodyInk left the forum, he was funny.
That said, I think making the game sandbox style kinda ruined the pacing.
If the dev had just continued making the game he started in v0.15, it really could've been something. I think it also would've been better if the emphasis had remained on the wife instead of introducing a bunch of other characters. I realize he's not looking to just copy Wife Adventures, but having so many characters really dilutes the wife's story.
