You can change the background color in the qsp player as a whole. Alongside a custom text color and stuff.
That is in the settings menu.

Mind you that is not a true "dark mode" as you wanted as that is general and not balanced in any way.
But it can be done without the developer specifically implementing it albeit that is superior as the developer might catch texts and images that don't really work with a dark theme and change or workaround it.
