We're really sorry, our saving system is indeed fucked up because of how much we have rewritten our code.Just downloaded the update earlier and it looks like some of my older saves are not working now once again even though I had just started a fresh playthrough with the last update. I like the progress the developers go through and how older content is replaced with newer, updated art/scenes like Lena and Angela's. It shows they take each character and scenes seriously and want to do the best they can I think. But I wish all saves would carry over no problem. Primarily it usually seems like it's the saves I have from scenes. Not all of them have issues but some will either go to before the event happens or put me back at the fountain instead of loading from where I saved. Like I tried loading an earlier save from an Olivia scene and it put me at fountain, then when I went to task menu. Olivia's was blank
Most of the issues with saves happen for one reason — you used another old save to start the game and saved on top of it.
For example, "skip to new content" is using a premade save. Anytime you load your own old save, to then make a new one, means that the new save is sort of "corrupted" with the data from the old save. The only way to avoid this is to do an absolute fresh start.
But ultimatelly we just want to make a "playthrough configurator" before you start playing, so you can just setup which routes you already played through and what amount of money you had and whatnot, so you can always fine-tune your game start to be from the point of which you prefer. It would be really useful for any instances of save corruption.
And while it's our perfect solution, we cannot give any deadline on when we will properly implement that.
