    Overal a good start, it'llbe interesting to see where it goes.

    The amount of options for character customisation is great and there are even more unlocked as you play to allow you complete comtrol over the MC looks as well as actions

    Intro could do with being streamlined and the game could benefit from slightly more structure once it starts properly.

    Not sure if just my playthrough but game broke and froze during the birth event (which could do with a less... anatomically correct image for a porn game imo)

    I played this a few years ago and I'm impressed by how lackluster in content it still is. The planned features and developments are great, sandboxes have a lot of potential, but the current application feels way too clunkier and too mechanical, you just click a bunch of random buttons and don't even get much feedback (via visuals, text or whatever) in what is happening.
    Still, there's some good potential there, the introduction scenes were interesting, although they are vastly different of the rest of the game per se.

    This is one of the dumbest games I've ever played. The dev is obviously talented, but apparently has absolutely no idea what makes a game enjoyable.

    For one, the fact that he apparently thought it would be fun to have a suicide mechanic where you automatically kill yourself if you haven't done enough mundane shit like get stuff for your crappy house just boggles the mind. I for one can't count how many times I've been playing a game and thought you know what, I wish my character would just kill themselves a few weeks in while I'm still figuring the game out.

    Secondly, a lot of the complicated mechanics work less well than simpler ones. The sex mechanic is just painful.

    The game would be vastly improved by simplifying it. Too bad the dev seems more interested in making needlessly complicated systems than actually making something playable.

    I have a question. Does half the stuff in this game need to be there? Furthermore, do some of these systems need to be so complex?

    Accidental Woman has been in development for a very long time with ThaumX mostly focused on framework and systems over content which in a normal development cycle would be the right way to go about it but I think he over extended. I was surprised when I played this game recently after dropping it years ago and found stuff to see. It has come a long way but like I asked in the intro, does half this stuff need to be there?

    A lot of the locations are still empty shells and many locations that have stuff have very little content and the content that is there I couldn't hep but ask why it was there. Why does this game need so many shops and locations? Why do you need so many clothing and furniture options? Why is the fertility system so complicated? Why is coitus a mini game and so time consuming? Why do you have so many schools? I understand a real city in real life needing these things but this is a game based out of a web browser. All of these locations and various systems leads to a lot of needless clicking and save file bloat. It got so bad that saving took minutes. Players, disable autosave on sleep or you'll have a worse time.

    As I played I noticed that work events looked like the most prominent but they seem to be tied to RNG so I spent a lot of my time going to work with nothing happening most days. The stuff that was there was pretty decent but again I spent a lot of time going to work, lowering stress afterwards, and going straight to bed for weeks on end. I wouldn't say it was worth it at this point. I didn't want to bother with the dating or sex systems since they were so time consuming and NPC's are interchangeable. Even the two story tied ones Toby and Lily are pretty dull and say the same things during dates and hang outs.

    As for the world and lore, there is no point playing a reluctant prude, in fact it doesn't make sense even in the male TF route. Every location and every item is based on sex and pregnancy. In the female route there's some kind of sense that the institute is up to shady things but it's hard to believe or care when even out in the open everything is sexually charged. Not much subversion to be seen.

    I don't know. If the game doesn't blow up your browser when it's done then it may be worth playing in a couple more years when all of these empty locations actually have worthwhile content but for now it's very niche. Maybe for the impreg fans? Note, you'll always play a woman so no impregnating anyone, only getting impregnated.

    so many problems. so many problems.
    game architecture is shoddy mess: auther added extra variable saving systems on top of Twine's and result is unstable as hell. almost impossible to fix. loading saves doesn't restore global stats so your achievements WILL DISAPPEAR and you can't get them back.

    gameplay has more problems too. features look like mix of FC, Newlife, and others all put together with no pattern. game has tons of bad ends that shouldn't exist at all but is especially bad when player has no way to know if they will happen or not. game is mostly just avoiding suicide or other bullshit. you can explode from getting pregnant. everything gets you pregnant.

    sex interface is HORRIBLY clunky and nothing you do seems to really matter. everything is either completely something you control or completely out of your control.

    storyline is weird. not bad, but weird. obvious newlife ripoff.

    tons of porn pictures, very little actual sexual content.

    pregnancy fetish is WAY TOO over the top. so comically over done it ruins it. like xxx games where girls all have breasts bigger than their torsos. i guess maybe more "hyper preg" game than anything else

    except you can explode from being too pregnant. you can miscarry for "reasons". you can die from being pregnant. game punishes you for playing except boring "go to work, go home, masturbate" simulator and paying dr lector to keep you from jumping off bridge.

    ultimately game is sandbox that hates you.

    Accidental Woman is a mostly text-based (but with a nicely designed interface and a decent amount of complimentary imagery) TF game focused on open world gameplay, character customization and freedom of choice. The player is given a wide range of choices for character design, including (but not limited to) player height, hair color, eye color, facial shape and breast shape (not only the size, but also the archetypal shape - i.e. teardrop, bell etc - something not often found in games). Unfortunately, the majority of these CD choices are irrelevant to, or play very little part in gameplay.

    The game is very ambitious, but unfortunately falls short of its ambitions. Whilst it is still in development and to give credit where credit is due, it does receive regular updates that tend to be decent in size - it seems like the ambitions for the game are not aligned with the updates, which seem to focus on more niche aspects of gameplay. A recent example of this at the time this review is being written would be that in the latest updates, a 'church' with services was added into the game. I'm not sure exactly which crowd this is meant to appeal to, but to each their own. At the same time, relationships in the game still feel really bare-bones, with every single character acting and behaving the same way. During dates for example, all characters seem to have the same standard dialogue, including the player character, who will repeat the same lines when selecting the 'romantic talk', or 'sexy talk' options during dates. The fear here would be that the game is appealing more to very specific and oddly detailed fetishes or fantasies rather than to its original appeal, that being an open-world life-sim.


    I still believe AW has a lot of potential, thanks to its creative developers. The interface is aesthetically pleasing and the ambition behind the project is admirable, but I really hope that the developers focus in future more on making the game what it's meant to be - open-world and with great freedom of choice - rather than working on odd niche side-projects that would make more sense to be added after the bulk of the game is fleshed out.

    I would love to play the game when its finished.
    I think its way to low rated if you like the kind of game try it.

    This game is not a life simulator, but a "Not implemented" and "Placeholder" simulator. It's the main reason i rate it 2 stars out of 5, not because it's really bad, but because it will make you waste soooo much time for absolutely nothing.

    First there is not so much content available, it couldn't really be an issue for a game in beta version, but this little content is SO HARD to get. Seriously, the whole city is free to explore and you will see many place to visit only to realize while pointing on it or clicking it that it "a placeholder" or it is "not implemented yet". And in the end after tens and tens of place like this, you will simply stop looking for something interesting to do at all.

    And that's the second issue, the game do not want to point at you where is the content, but let you look for it, and this combined with the above statement and the early development state of the game simply defeat all the fun you could have from it. Wake up, go work, fuck, attend to a course and sleep will be what you do day after day after day after ...

    Add to this a few strange design choices, that sometime are only there to put difficulty where there shouldn't be, or put grinding in the game, add quite a few bugs or features not really working, a cheat menu only for patreons (Only way to manage the bugs) and you have a game that promise a lot but achieve none of what it is supposed to offer.

    Seriously i was a perfect target for this game, a life sim with a story to follow and a few plots to take part in, but in the end i'm simply disappointing as i haven't seen any plot showing even after 10 hours of play and a few random game over that were as stupid as random and unfinished, as even the game over screen is only a small text saying you are dead and a large empty placeholder box telling you that someday, there will be something there.

    Yeah, someday, maybe, there will be actually something to do in this game. Maybe.

    I have been following this game for a while now it is does seem to be going somewhere finally. But man the game itself is still meh a huge amount of clicking for a lot of things, a good half of the things you might want to do are still placeholders or not implemented at all. And the reason I am writing this review in the first place. The game becomes next to unplayable after a couple hours, why? you may ask. It destroys your RAM; by the point my save was breaking the game itself was pulling 2.8 to 3 gb of RAM. It was taking a good 2 minutes to start the next day and even then I had the settings as low as they could go. I have a sneaking suspicion that the creators of the game have forgotten not everybody has super highend machines. Thus they keep on adding more and more to the game without optimizing it at all.

    All in all I can't reccomend this game to anyone with less then 12- 16gb of RAM. My system has 8gb and it was using 1.8 - 2 gb 1.5 hours into the game.

    I know this game has been out for a while now. It has a good intro, albeit the coded burger is a bit frustrating. Character creation and story line is good. This game, like most in games in development has a great start and it slowly descends. Once the TF is completed, you are thrust into this world without a real object and most of the locations are either incomplete or not implemented yet.

    On the post intro, character creation, like the game, kinda spirals down. There are some game breaking bugs that make playing impossible, the UI is horrendous, and there isn't much incentive for the player to explore because of the lack of content.

    Once the game is playable, then I will support on Patreon again, for now all the work is best played free.

    I like the idea, but practically everywhere I turn seems to be [not implemented]. I guess it's to have a rough framework and to show off what's to come, but all it does is make me feel like the world is empty.

    Speaking of, the ending of the prologue I got (2 of 6, "Falling Out") wasn't written! And typically a "falling out" is bad, but my relationship with Lily seemed great up until that point.

    Despite there being a million systems with thorough explanations, there are things I don't understand how to do. I got an STD called "the drips", how do I cure that? The hospital doesn't seem to be of any help. Clothing seems to get dirty quickly and there seems to be no way to wash them manually?

    There are bugs galore. Sex scenes misuse pronouns and names constantly; in the schedule, work has late/missed next to it despite showing up early and the one time I was late it gave me a checkmark; Lily texted me right after hanging out to ask why I didn't show up to hang out; coworkers approach me at work to hang out but I get all sorts of errors.

    I will say that the music and the character creator are great.

    Some day, I'm sure this'll be a great game.

    I've been following this game for a very long time, as it has many elements that I really enjoy in a game, though the obvious pitfalls of it being still in an alpha state, with many basic systems still missing.

    The best things about the game are
    1. the really excellent sense of humor. There are not only the obviously humorous things, like the store names, job titles, and descriptions, but some deviously humorous things like the dialogue and self-descriptions. They not only make me laugh during gameplay, but leave me sympathetic to the author's attempt to bring his vision to life.
    2. the level of detail given to even the most trivial of things, like clothing. There is almost always something to read or see or do that will reveal surprises and delights. even ordering beer is fun, the first time you order each beer.
    3. the intended interaction between the character and her environment. Being able to choose whether you will work to impress your boss or your co-workers, or to just get your job done well, is fun. Unfortunately, none of that seems at present to make any difference.
    4. the whole world-building project. This is by far the most immersive world I have seen in a game.
    5. The bug reporting system is excellent. You can immediately see whether the bug you have encountered has been seen before, and what has been done to fix or work around it. You can easily report your own new bugs.
    Unfortunately, there are serious flaws with the game:
    1. The sex bits don't seem to work as promised, and there are far more clicks involved with sex than is "sexy." I get bored with the sex scenes pretty quickly, and they last way too many actions to sustain interest.
    2. The game breaks down pretty quickly, with the "lovers" becoming undateable after a few encounters (first, they appear on the calendar but you cannot complete the date, and then they make dates that never appear on the calendar but the NPC still insists that you have a date).
    3. The only person you can "hanging out" with is Lily (and then for only a few times before the game crashes when you try it) and, apparently, "hanging out" is the key mechanic to prevent the PC getting "lonely" and then suicidal.
    4. The game is very inconsistent when it comes to telling the player when something is simply not implemented. Some locations, for instance, are labelled "not implemented" or "placeholder" but others, like every place in the central park, simply do nothing when you click on them. Broken game, or just not implemented? Who knows?
    I really, really want to play this game as it was obviously intended. But every playthrough (and there have been many) ends with either suicide through loneliness or abandonment because the basic systems have broken down. I have never seen a job random event. I have only once had the PC aprehended by the police, and they immediately murdered her.

    In short, this is a game everyone should check out if the subjects of life sims or world-building interest them, but don't get your hopes up. It is incredibly ambitious but doesn't yet come close to realizing those ambitions.

    But, ThaumX, you should feel proud of the way you have written this, at the very least. Your sense of humor is unmatched in the genre, IMO.

    So the game shows a lot of promise, from what I've seen, however too many of the things you do with character creation currently v0.23.1 have no meaning. It is also really easy to die, even if you don't know why, I've been locked into a death by "depression" even when my happiness is at 40%, bear in mind, that this lock happened right after finishing the prologue.

    This game has tons of potential, and is something I always like - text based games. But it's currently unfinished to the point where I would not suggest playing it.

    Also, being forced to be a female is kind of a turn off for me, as I'd much rather fuck than get fucked.

    I like the character creation aspect in theory because it gives you so many options and for the most part you can really do a good job tailoring things if you have specific objectives in mind.

    However, the story is weird, the presentation seems to be full of development in-jokes or, how do I put it, the presentation of many parts of the game is such that, as a newcomer to the game, it feels genuinely and unnecessarily hard to get into. Many systems are poorly explained, if at all, some systems are just broken with no intention to work, and that one demo sex scene was so tedious and unwieldy to handle that, even if the plot and the systems worked, it would most likely not be enjoyable.

    An interesting game. The competence the developer displays is substantial. Unfortunately he’s building what is basically a detailed game engine from the ground up so new content had taken a back seat for a while. It looks like he’s focusing more on writing now though.

    This game has LOADS of potential and I can not wait to see where it will lead in the future. It features a robust character customization system which is a big draw, but the experience seems to cut short a few minutes after that. If this game continues to see regular updates then there is hope for this game

    I had not previously heard of this game, but, thankfully, Souleater has brought it to my attention. I played through the demo quite rapidly, and thoroughly enjoyed it. I eagerly await future development.
