Well, wait 3 weeks to play small updates, or even if I give you 10 bucks, there will still be a small update, or is it better to get it on Steam, I bought such novels for 10 bucks, completed games, you can spend normal hours on content there, or buy another game once on Steam, I already bought 3 games and get an update for free, and there are from 1 to 2 hours of content, but I want to say, good luck to you, but how to do it, between updates, as you advise, make 2 large updates, and then make small updates again.
That's a fair point. No matter how hard I work, there's only so much I can do on my own, so I always try to strike a balance between how long it takes to deliver a new release and how much content that release should have. And honestly, that's not an easy exercise. If I take too long, I risk losing most (if not all) of my supporters. If I release consistently but the updates are too short, that can also cause frustration.
That said, I don't force anyone to pay for updates. As part of my marketing strategy, all releases eventually become free to the public a few weeks after launch, while Patrons get early access.
If I ever reach a sustainable level of support, this approach may change, and there might not be free public releases anymore, but that's a decision I'll only face if and when the time comes.
