It's not a bad update. Maybe a bit too much branching, cause did feel short, so hope for bigger updates. I also think longer scenes, a lot of the sexual interactions are just way, way too quick. Its like a couple renders of girl sitting on our face, then done. Or one quick anmiton of sex, then done. So I really hope scenes gets expanded a bit more to be longer.
Also really hope Eleanor is femdom option, she is my favorite, along with Iris. So hope those two have femdom paths, or will be disappointed.

First time playing and this is rough. The scenes and PoV do not flow well at all, comes across as a barely coherent mess so far.

Maledom is very underwhelming it has almost no content and even has femdom on it. Sad
It isn't tagged maledom, and it is the very beginning of the game in which the setting is very much centered on women having the power and you being in a powerless position.
Did you jump into a femdom game and expect to be able to have the MC turn the tables in chapter 1?

I would argue there's going to be a maledom path even if it's not tagged here, it seems to be following the Karlsson's Gambit formula even if like that game the world seems more Femdom oriented but the first choice you get already starts to track you for different paths (Sub/good, Sub/evil, Dom/good, Dom/evil) as the game progresses I think the paths will start to diverge more, we are barely at the beginning after all.
I expect you are right, it still seems wild to me that someone would come into a game that is just starting, which is tagged femdom and not maledom and then take the time to complain about the lack of maledom.
So how long is this update, like playtime? I played the version before the update recently. Just wanted to know if is worth, or better wait some time until there is enough content to check it out again.

In that case it may be worth to wait it out, the new content is short, and it seems to be spread out among the different routes.

Depending on reading speed maybe 10-20 minutes. Add another five if you're playing both the dom and sub variant.
About half of the update is a scene that the MC has no part in that always plays the same with no choices, the other half is a sequence featuring the MC that has some variations depending on dom or sub status. Add a bit of minor filler and that's the lot.
Oh I played this dev's previous games, they were rather different. This is a departure and I don't think it's as good, the writing just seems a lot less interesting compared to the previous two. But we'll see. Obviously KG inspired and I waited for the third update before trying it. There's a decent amount of content overall I suppose, but none of it was really getting me. I'm not sure how many different scenes or routes there are, I guess it could be very heavily branched, I tried two different playthroughs and they were mostly the same overall.

This game is inspired by KG obviously & Tess is cross promoting it. (which din't able to provide real maledom content even after 5 years).
Atleast Tess is active in f95 upto first 4 years and still very active in her discord server. Where as s1ck seems to be inactive in both.
