VN - Ren'Py - Completed - Acting Lessons [v1.0.2] [DrPinkCake]

Well, this was my first AVN. It showed up in my recommended because of the positive reviews. I dismissed it since my first thought was that it'd be some cheesy bone-o-rama.

Then it was on sale during christmas and I thought: "eh, it's only a few bucks"

It turned out to be a great decision. It's been one of the best games I've ever played regarding the story.
I can't grasp how it hooked me in. Of course there are adult scenes, but they are well put in the story. Most can be skipped and the few that aren't are brought in such a manner that they add to the story.

This is a game for people who consider story over pleasure and they will not be dissapointed.

The game adresses some serious topics and could trigger those who have been in similar situations.

I do praise the artists integrity in telling his story and not be influenced by any comments. Although I would've preferred he'd gave some alternates, the certain events are fixed. Only the aftermath of influenced by your decisions, for better or worse.

Some may consider the story telling techniques used cheap or forced, but to each his own. They worked for me.

I've read somewhere he's thinking about DLC to show a little more background of the characters, something that would have my consideration.

After a few playtroughs I feel like my first playtrough was the most sincere one. The other were curiosity and achievement hunting.

This game is something else. I never would have bought it unless it showed up in my recommended. Some characters have I tie in with another AVN, Retrieving the past. I looked for that one and that one was exactly what I expected this game to be. That one focused on the adult themes, this one focused on the story.

You could leave the adult scenes out of this one and still have a great game with an excellent story

This game is a rare gem. I bought it for the lulz but it's story gripped me and moved me.

so i finished this game(i played BADIK first and been curious about this one) just now and man, dr pink cake knows how to make an excellent adult visual novel. great characters and content/story).

This situation is similar when you watch the first made movie from a cult status director. There are signs about the editor's great talent but movie is not perfect. Two main things was not comfortable for me. First is a character who is not avoidable so you must be in relationship with her. Second is a repeatable bug which force the the game to quit. Whitout autosave it could be worse but also annoying. If you can deal with problems like that you can reach a fantastic deep story about friendship and relationship with girls. Also get meaningful endings I tried all route.

Very good game, not sticking mainly to the topic of sex. An amazing role-playing game, surprising, the more we delve into history. Characters in the game are very well written in terms of personality.

This is a masterpiece, I have played several games from this site but I really believe that this is one of the best.

Goddamnit. I mean, this reflects how life is. Decisions, mistakes, no take-backs and living with the regrets that come with it..

I loved this game - but it really brought up how much I hate how unfair life is.
I hate how beauty cant ever just be left alone to remain beautiful. Why must we suffer like this, all the time? Why must the beautiful things always be sullied? Why must they always end? Just once. I would like to experience something that is never ruined. Just one fucking time!.. Please.


..Look at me. Shouting my frustration and sadness into the void on a forum like this. Which is really the testament of this game. It succeeded in portraying how unforgiving the world is and how beauty is but embers in the air we chase in an ever futile search for a place of happiness, meaning or fulfillment.. call it what you will. It's all temporary no matter how much we wish it weren't so.

Most often we play games to escape this reality.
But what we really deep down need might be just what this game did.

To provoke reflection and confront the players with gutwrenching truths about who we are and what life really is like instead of what we wish it were.

I'm so goddamn sad right now. But also maybe.. a bit better for it. Thank you Dr. PinkCake.

i mean what can i say about this game. Easily the best VN ive ever played. The story, the characters, everything is incredible. Going back to play it after about a six months cause i've only just recovered from my first playthrough.

This is a truly exceptional game.
Well constructed and engaging plot, topped with twists and emotional roller coasters.
Credible, well-described, coherent and captivating characters.
Obviously the girls are beautiful, the animations well done and the renders breathtaking.
One of the few games in which the male character, who is not the MC, is nice and useful in a positive way for the continuation of the game.

I highly recommend playing with it and trying all the possible endings!

I can not recommend this game enough.

I remember the first time I played Life is Strange. I was going through a hard time in my life and during the climax of episode three, I lost my first girlfriend because we were separated and stopped nourishing the love we had. That game got me choked up.

This game, it speaks as if to me personally. It is the only game where I stayed up until 4:00AM playing so that I may continue to progress through the story, then after getting less than 4 hours of sleep, coming back the next night to and playing through until 12:30AM just to complete and write a review for. This game got me choked up and never before have I been so close to tears from a video game. For years now, LiS has been my #1 game of all time, however I think this game, an adult game, has taken that spot.

The characters are more intricate and deep than some people I know in real life. The story has twists and turns that always manage to keep you wanting to continue. You first ending will almost definitely have you wanting to replay for a different, better ending, as I plan to do after finishing this.

I don't know where whoever wrote the story behind this game got their inspiration from but to them, keep writing, please! You are insanely talented and I have never wanted a sequel more. Especially with the ending I got.

Amazingly intricate characters that feel more real than some people I've actually met. Great sex scenes, but far far greater plot. Be warned, it has a real gut punch near the end so maybe not for the faint of heart or for those just here to polish one out.

Honestly one of the few that I actually enjoyed the story and it even kinda made me tear up 10/10 I would definitely recommend this as a play if you want a mix between sex and story and some twists along the way

Melissa and Liam are awesome characters. Really.
Sometimes I wish author made happy ending for this story like DLC or something like that. But it is great anyway.

I will try to be brief here.
Excellent story from beginning to end.
All the characters are fantastic, from MC's best friend to the... nurse. Models, personalities, stories, dialogues... Everything.
A small MC "personality" system that, while simple, was very well implemented.
Anyway, we can only congratulate the DPC for this work of art.

I thoroughly enjoyed playing this game. I must say that this game is of the highest quality.

First of all, the protagonists. Liam is the single greatest protagonist in porn games, and I say that as a straight guy. His sense of humor got me several times during the whole novel. He's the friend that everyone should have.

Megan is very pretty, her past and her character made me love her. It's nice that she is an "physically average" person, with no oversized tits and some imperfections on her face.

Rana and especially Melissa were very well designed, the daily struggles that they faced make them very believable. Kudos.

Secondly, the story is very much in depth and this is what makes or breaks a porn game in my opinion. While some scenes were a bit cliché, the underlying tension combined with Liam's great humor makes going through the scenes like a breeze. One little negative is that I felt like the transition between scenes was a bit lacking. The pacing is very good. I also liked the ending that I got, a very important point because the ending often feels rushed in other porn games.
Thirdly, the scenes are well rendered, the art is good. Special mention to the characters' expression, to the person who drew this, you did an amazing job.

I didn't play with the sound on. I didn't try to get the other endings. I prefer to leave it like this and keep the wonderful experience of having played this game untouched. The easiest 5 stars to give.

Enjoyed this VN quite a bit! Models were well done, avoiding most of the big-titted bimbo syndrome of many productions. There was some real humor involved and I enjoyed having Liam as a sidekick during the story. Overall, good setup and art without too much grindiness.

-OK so i enjoyed this story so much. so many little story nuggets i just loved.
-The CG is great seriously some great scenes there.
-Can I just say the Megan Character in my opinion is the sexiest female character ive seen in any Ren'Py story.

What can I say that everyone else hasn't. The story is honestly FANTASTIC! I just finished it (one of the endings, and need to finish the others) and my god. It hits all the feels at the right time. I had no idea that what was supposed to be a dick hardening session would turn into a goddamn journey of self discovery...

The pacing is pretty on point. It starts off slow and culminates in a masterpiece that surprised me. It hits close to home and has some good life lessons in there as well. While there were a few moments where I thought "Ok, get on with it..." it overall was great. The hilarious moments come out of nowhere as well which I personally appreciated as it made it that much funnier. Liam.... what a great character.

As far as the love interests go, they each were quite different and multi-dimensional which you don't often see in these kinds of games and stories. That extra bit of detail really gets you involved in each character and therefore quite interested. It made certain choices that much more difficult...

I wont spoil anything, but I will say you need to play this game RIGHT NOW!! It is LONG, and it is worth every minute! If you want a game that actually has story and characters to get invested in, you should be downloading already. If you just want to rub one out real quick, this may work, but you have to work for it, though I would say that it is worth spending the time to actually play it.

There is a walkthrough guide, but I HIGHLY recommend NOT using it. I was so afraid of making the "wrong" choices that I spoiled some things and ended up not making MY choices. THERE IS NO GAME OVER. Play it how you want to, and THEN use the walkthrough to get what you want later. There are also hints in game you can enable, which I don't think will spoil anything so turn those on if you wish.

Otherwise, buckle up buttercup because you are about to embark on a journey you don't even realize you are on until you are already gone.

more than just an adult game. its storyline is far better than most of netflix series. i couldnt count how many times i laughed to liam's dumb moves and expressions. i felt sad, angry and aroused at the same time. i wish it ended with a better ending but life is not fair as it says. poem at the end is incredible, nice choice. thanks for the game doc

This game just wow, I have never felt emotions while playing a game, or watching TV, but this game has done it, I experienced emotions for first time while playing this game, they where not happy, anger or sad, they where shock, and the feeling of powerlessness, like you fucked up really bad, and wish you could go back in time and change it but you can't.

This game can not be called a game, calling it a game would be belittling what it is, this is a traumatic simulator.

I would recommend this game to any one, but this game is not for everyone especially the soft hearted, sometimes the best ending is never playing.

Even though i only played it once and only once (dont think ill be able to handle another play through with Mel as my partner), I enjoyed the game the story was so more entrancing then any other content. I highly recommend this game to anyone. I also suggest putting a warning with the age restriction warning that its not for the faint of heart. If this game can bring most people close to tears or actually have them shed a tear then the game seriously need that warning ASAP. If you do make another like this please go a bit vanilla on the bad shit. Otherwise i might be unable to play with my scars from AL
