VN - Ren'Py - Completed - Acting Lessons [v1.0.2] [DrPinkCake]

One of the very few visual novels here on F95 that actually fleshes out the story and is not just a half-assed sorry attempt for a money grab. Everything is perfect, in my honest opinion, in this VN. The characters other than the main character are not just made with one personality to go on, but a much more complex and fluid personality.

Hands down one of the best games i've played. The story is very realistic, the dialogues are not dumb and lead to very authentic character reactions. Overall - very pleasant and can't wait for the update!

This is very good. The renders look great
It is a bit like the telltale adventure games but only for dating sims. It is heavily story/dialog based which is just the way that relationships work. Whoever wrote this knows how to actually talk to real people and gauge their reactions pretty realistically: nothing is an instant 'rejection' or 'instant panty-dropper' either. Which translates into not having to be 'Mr. 100% Perfect'. You can actually play this game without having to need a walk through in fear of missing out certain scenes, but you will have to make choices in how you pursuit the available girls, I doubt they will all enjoy being part of a submissive harem, just like in real life!

Original and great story. The protagonist have much choices to do.
The plot is intriguing and original, and the girls are really hot.
Liam is a funny and crazy man and the dialogues between him and the mc are hilarius. So , great job and i'm already waiting for the next update.

Fantastic game. It is one of the few games where the writing makes you get involved with the characters and makes you genuinely care for them. The story has many different branches for all the different girls and I think this game has doen it better than any other. The renders are phenomenal too, all the girls look stunning and they're all realistic but at the same time varied. I wish there was more emphasis on some of the other girls thoguh and maybe have some of their stories intertwine a bit more. Regardless of any improvements that could be made and I'm sure will, this game is easily one of my favourites and one I will support for however long it is developed.

Pretty good so far. Good looking characters and realistic proportions always gets my vote. And it's great how some characters have proper depth. Can't wait to find out more about Melissa and uncover what feels like an interesting personality hiding under bravado. Some remain very shallow but maybe that is for now and will be developed.
Well worth a play.

Update from final version: The quality of renders got better but the story got weaker for me. Clearly a personal thing but the hook I got at the start simply disappeared about 2/3rd of the way. Don't regret playing but fell in my rankings quite a bit.

I really love this game. The story is exciting, sexy and often also dramatic. The artwork is gorgeous, it has a tons of renders. But it's the fine up to hilarious humor what I like most! Really a great game, one of my favorites!

I love the story (so far I only okayed through the athletic perk) and boi! does the story get dark. It's the GoT of adult games. litterally. that one-night stand might come and bite you in the arse. All your choices will matter and you fav characters might die

Great game! Great renders, great writing, difficult and meaningful choices. Definitely a cut above the rest in many aspects. The game's mechanics have a way of making you think about your actions like few others do. Seems like a game that would be well worth playing through a few times to try the different paths that the choices lead to. Looking forward to further releases! (played .3.0)

Great writing has created an immersive story in Acting Lessons. The graphics and animations are great as well so far.

It is still early in the games development, but the two things that have shocked me the most thus far are that the game can be downright hilarious at times, and I actually like the MC's best friend. Usually other male counterparts are either a threat, or are annoying as hell, but Liam is spot on.

When a story is engaging enough that I feel for the characters, and even find myself actually laughing out loud, then I can't deny how great it is.

Wow man. Now THAT is a great game.

I'm really in love with this game for now (v0.3.0). Even on this version, we already have a great amount of content.

The story is good, characters are interesting. I love the idea of having best friend that always have your back yet very fun and childish . The dev sure have a good sense of humor. Images looks good and up until ver 0.3, each version has a decent size of content.

Now that this story is done, I just want to reaffirm my 5 star rating. Love or hate the direction the story turned, it's foolish to deny that Dr P hasn't lifted the bar of the quality of writing in Adult VNs. I'm not an emotional person but, damn, I felt real joy when things turned out ok for Liam and in the two separate endings I completed , one for Melissa and the other for Megan. That's the power of good writing.


Original Review July 5, 2018: Incredible, even after the excellent introductory episode this VN just keep getting better. Sure, this game has lovely looking girls, but many old and new games out there can say the same. What Pink is doing with Acting Lessons is raising the bar of the writing quality in Adult games. The characters are believable, the situations are interesting and fun, and there are different paths.

The way Pink will segue from one scene to another is brilliant. For instance, everyone's favourite scene seems to be when Megan is sure Liam can't be that wild, and then the very next screen he's yelling Drink! Drink! Drink! The best laugh in a long time. But he can also do the same thing in a more serious situation, such as the end of Ep 3 where you think the MC is having headaches again but the person at the doctors comes as a complete surprise. That is showing some real talent for writing.

This game has only been out for a little over two months, but has become one of the most popular new releases in that time. Pink is proving that a quality product will always find it's market.

I've been dreading rewriting this review for quite a while as this was at one point my favorite games on the platform... but for the sake of consistency it needs to be done.

First... I've changed my review from five to three stars, but I need to add clarification to this which is that... if you're someone who doesn't care how these games end or care about the story... then you'll probably like this and I still greatly recommend it. With that out of the way...

This is a game with great visuals, some hilarious moments, pretty good sexual content, and a pretty good story... until you realize how it ends. As a disclaimer I'm not someone who is opposed to "tragedy" in games. My problem with the ending was not that incident that we shall not speak of for the sake of dodging spoilers... my problem was the execution of it which was just... incredibly forced, thrown in for a cheap thrill, and it occurred at the expense of player choice.

Going into this game you're given the illusion that it is choice driven, but due to the way things end you quickly learn that your choices mean squat. For me... this unfortunately soured an otherwise great experience and a game that otherwise would've been 5/5 stars. If this is not something you care about? Play it for the gorgeous girls, *mostly* fun story, and sexual content. If this IS something you care about? Dodge this like the plague. 3.0 out of 5.0.

The amount and length of the dialogues is perfect, not long enough to be boring and not short and stiff.
Like how the player choices work, feels like the right amount there aswell.

Many hot characters with hot scenes, works well with the players choices.

This game is FANTASTIC... Seriously, if you're looking at the reviews wondering if it's worth the download, do yourself a favour and just play it.

Some of the best writing I've seen in a 'porn' game, with a few grammar issues that I'd only nitpick if I were a total pedant... I'm not though, okay?... The characters feel like real people, talk like real people, and react (mostly) like real people. They're all meaningful; not a single one of them is just a prop for the sex scenes.
Don't get me wrong, it's still a kind of wish-fulfillment fantasy, but it's wonderfully crafted, well paced, and it'll hit you in the feels from a few different angles.

If I had one criticism, and I do, it's that the animations in Chapter 1 are pretty wooden. But the quality of the animations seems to improve a little more with each new chapter, so I'm quietly hoping that when the story is all done those early ones will get refreshed.

Basically if you're still reading my nonsense right now instead of playing it, you're doing it wrong...

The game has a beautiful visuals - the characters presented so far each have a unique style, and the photographic composition of many shots are sexy/erotic. Choosing a primary character trait at the beginning is also an interesting concept.

Not to be overlooked is the simple, unobtrusive UI (other Ren'Py creators, take note!)

First I have to say that this game is wonderful.
I thought it would be just another bland game,'but I was wrong' ,This game surprised me excellent soundtrack,beautiful graphics very hot scenes and a wonderful story with remarkable characters you made me like every character you created ,now i care about them I just created empathy,and I really enjoyed the scenes without panties

Shoot me if I am wrong, fuck me if I lie, this games plot is simply epic. Especially some characters have so much depth to them that I really feel that connection.
Megan friends, Melissa, Rena and of course our best mate LIAM.. best wingman a man could hope for. At first I thought that he will be a dick or simply rude friend, but man how wrong I was. It's that in many games that I played before, Liams character/model played a dick/douche kind of character and I expected the same to happen here. Oh, how wrong I was!
If I could point some things that need improvement is story depth of side characters. Leah, Heidy? and Angela.. they need more depth to them otherwise I am going to simply not fall for their charms and will go with Megan, Melissa and Rena route only.

I feel that our ex somehow will be in a relationship with Liam.. don't know how yet, but it seems like it...

Of course she did not appear yet in the story so far, so its only a speculation at this point.

Megan, Melissa.. best girlefriends ever.. Rena, Jealous brat? Liam, best sidecick and wingman. With him around nothing will be boring. Leah.. dick hungry nurse with no time for relationship. Heidy and Angela? Bitches dick hungry. I hope that Leah will be with Liam. Heidy and Angela will be less dick hungry and Rena less Jealous.

What I hope for the most is that this game will have not just 8 parts but hecking 80.. of course with as much content as all parts to date. So it will be one hell of a story.
V. 0.3.0

At first I was sceptical about this title and what it will bring. I must say that I am extremly surprised by what dev accomplished in such short time. So much content with decisions that matter yet replaying whole game is not a hassle just to see some changes becouse those choices are few but with many variables and many different consequences which can appear at the end of a day or further in the story.

So far Leah seems to be the most detatched from the story. Like a pointless side character and the most likely character I would break Up with.

Going for a harem route is a wise choice if you want to see most scenes. So to choose a definite love route you need to wait a bit till harem route will have its consequences.

Plot is superb, becouse it feels real- like. You sometimes get to feel what some characters get to feel. Especially those momories which they share with each other are greatly shown.

So far each character have their own story to tell, each of them is interesting in their own way. So far all friends of Megan are sexy, interesting, different and propably ok with Harem route. So far Melissa seems the most Ok with it, but Jes might add lesbian love to this triangle which will make a square. So nobody will feel left out from this relationship.

Liam and his big secret.. is it his black dick or..?

The only thing which I might change is Megan's head in some scnes. Its bent in weird way and thats it. Simply great game! Besides renderes, there is nothing else in need of improvement. I enjoy this game. Characters in it and its story.

Best ending is with Melissa in Megan.. in our bed. See to make sure for yourself.

I am deeply impressed by this game. Possibly the very best Ren'Py game around. The renders are great and the dialogues and also the choices the player get are very well thought through and fun to read. The developer made a complete story with a very well thoughtout system that keeps track of the choices you make. Also love the fact that you get to choose if you want to be notified by hints after every choice you make. I am also amazed by the content of the game. It's not as slow as many other Ren'Py games.
