Although I didn't like the abrupt change in tone when the tense moment with the ex girlfriend and another girl turned into a prank played by the two girls on the mc. Quickly followed by a sex scene. That gave me a bit of a whiplash. I couldn't really enjoy that sex scene.

Definitely abrupt, but it makes sense to me that two girls could be okay with the harem situation, but still feel a bit justified in trolling MC a bit for creating the harem in the first place.

Really? I found it a lot of fun, I love the drama and the internal friction is what spices up the story.

I was a bit worried that something like that could happen sooner or later and found their reaction realistic. I was mentally preparing for a serious conversation and they pulled the rug under the mc's feet. "ha, ha, just kidding". My reaction both in game and irl was wtf. I think it was jarring and a wasted opportunity.

Honestly, relationship drama seems to be kept intentionally light from the start, so it would be more jarring to me for a sudden actual big conflict to occur. Just doesn't seem consistent with the tone of the game.

I agree it would have been very interesting to see, but this game is far from being a romantic drama, it is more pure comedy and action.

Yeah. The one weakness of the game I see is that dramatic (story) moments like that appear out of the blue and vanish just as quickly. Sometimes without a "trace". I'd rather have the game be lighthearted from the start to finish. Or serious, like the dev's other project "Neon heart". Not saying that you can't have serious and humorous moments to lighten the mood, especially in an otherwise serious game. Or the other way around. It's not easy to pull off or even find the right ratio. Hopefully as the dev hones her craft we'll get a smoother mix.

Not really. As it would ground it more in reality. Especially when the game presents us a serious story line, it wouldn't be unthinkable for the characters to react (more) realistically in regards to a relationship and bring the harem situation down to earth. Why should be everyone on board? Or at least agree to it as easily? That would provide more dramatic moments to the story in general and also to their relationship in particular. Not make it a thing of the past that is complete and done, but allow for it develope like the relationships with the other girls, thus make it interesting. Of course she (the ex gf) could agree to join the poly relationship in the end if you played your cards right.

I always loved 90ies action movies like Die Hard or the Schwarzenegger pics. So I am totally alright with Action (and hot lesbian sex, which I now realise was missing in Schwarzenegger movies).

Arnold's larger than life characters with their one liners weren't enough for you? And there was plenty of action and excitement to get the blood pumping. At least for younger me. (Remember the fight with Sharon Stone in "Total recall" ? ) If you added hot lesbian action into the mix that might have been too much for the audience. Probably for the censors too.
Now "get to the choppa" and "see you at the party".

I think a distinction should be made between story drama and relationship drama. AR definitely has story drama that lasts for longer arcs, but unless my memory is spotty, what limited relationship drama exists is typically resolved quickly. That's likely an intentional choice, because there's plenty of people that might like narrative drama but not relationship angst, at least from time to time. Being grounded in reality isn't necessarily always a positive thing.
