This is an interesting idea, and I find it thought-provoking. First I want to answer you. At least I like this subtle change of environment.Hi everyone. I have good news and "bad" news!
I'm done with the update (Good news) but I'm not uploading it right now (Bad news
) as I want to make a "full update" Vanilla and NTR run just to check everything out. I did a test run and except for some typos and some rogue visual items that I didn't remove after a scene was done, everything's working as it should. Testing the game is pretty hard as I need to think things like "what if the player choses to leave this place right now?" and make sure they can roam around as much as they want/can without messing up triggers and what not. I also find myself writing and rewriting dialogue as it sometimes sounds weird to me but when I change it.... It sounds weird again... At some point I just have to force myself to stop changing it or I'll never release anything.
In other news, there's a lot of changing dialogue in random NPCs in this update depending on how far you are in the main quest but a problem has quickly become evident. How... Can a player know that an NPC has new dialogue without having to check each and every singe one of them every now and then? The one solution I've though of is to add a floating "!" or something similar on NPCs with new dialogues but that would only work with static NPCs. There's also the existential level question of "what happens if only I care about flavor text?" and all that effort goes to waste. It's a problem cause I really like when the world slowly changes when you do shit. Do you guys like it as well?
That's all for now. I apreciate your patience and growing interest in this remake. I really hope you like the coming update. I'll see you again in a couple of days.
So, what do you think about adding a "chat symbol" (as shown in the picture
I have thought about it seriously, and my reason is: chat symbols are more likely to be seen as dialogue or inner activities in traditional RPG games; while exclamation marks may be seen as pornographic content or other important events involving tasks. But you don't want the latter. The specific performance of other NPCs is actually the so-called "side description", which is used to set off the main plot and characters, so that players can get a better plot experience or enjoy being cuckolded.
If this is the case, you can do it boldly. I will support you to add new dialogue texts generated by these NPCs as the situation develops! These will make the game content richer and more layered. If the player doesn't like it, then he can choose not to read it, which is the player's freedom; if he likes it (like me), he will try to read it all, just like collecting all the achievements of the game, that is enjoying excellent works. I believe someone will be willing to do this.
Anyway, kudos to you for your work! Looking forward to playing it.
