Maybe you would like some of the Black lilith games like Captive market, Witch Annerose, Diviner knight towako, Taimanin Asagi (first two male mc second two female mc)

If it doesn´t strictly have to be pure VN then maybe you´d like Venus Blood hollow.

I´ve played it on normal and the difficulty was not that bad, it is rather complex than hard. You can always save and if you game over you have the option to restart with all items and unit xp.

If you want something simplier you could try their earlier game Venus bloood chimera, it is a lot easier and simpler, but it has outdated art.
