There is a problem with the map.
I'm speechless... but it's not clear to you, you wrote everything right (at least I think) and in any case my criticism is not addressed to you. I'm Italian and I didn't know all these American rules, which I find absurd to say the least... it is true that age can define a minor from an adult, but below the threshold of 18 (at least that's how it works here) they are all minors and not it is tolerable that there may be adults who have sex with minors, one does not "count" how many years the two are divided. It being understood that I don't want to trigger any controversy, I just wanted to have my say on a country that has laws that are very far from my thinking and not knowing them, made me stay a little "surprised".There is a problem with the map.
Texas is represented correctly the age of consent is 17. However, there is a romeo and Juliet law in Texas which allows Teens under the age with in 3 years age of each other to have sex. A 19 year old could date a 17 year old, 18->16 ... There are aggravated sexual assault of a minor is 13 and below regardless. While those numbers of above may seem like 2 years, understand 3 years and a day is 1 day to much!
North Caroline shows 16. The only problem is that is with the Juliet law. If you are 18 and younger and have sex with a 16 year old you are fine. But if you are over 18 per the law you broke the law and just had sex with a minor and committed statutory rape.
I'm not going to go through and check each state. Whoever did this failed. I reconginzed the issue because I lived in NC and have family there and currently live in Texas. I would say it is easy enough to look up the laws but clearly whoever made the map failed.
Use a state published website listing the penal code. Each state has one. Here is a list.

By here do you mean Italy? I used to live there 3 years. Current age law there is 14. 13 if the person is with in 3 years of their age. The age of consent raises to 16 in Italy if the person has some sort of influence over them such as a teacher or boss...I'm speechless... but it's not clear to you, you wrote everything right (at least I think) and in any case my criticism is not addressed to you. either the google translator mistranslated, or I must have missed something...By here do you mean Italy? I used to live there 3 years. It's covered under " ‘Actes sexuels avec un mineur’, Article 609 Quater du Code Pénal Italien"
Uh...why are you posting this?
Diconica is right. There is a problem with the map.

I'm tempted to answer that what you missed is the Law of your own country.either the google translator mistranslated, or I must have missed something...
In Italy the age of consent to have sex with an adult is 14, raised to 16 if the adult have authority over the minor. And there's a Romeo and Juliet exception for 13yo.in Italy, if an 18-year-old has sex with a 17-year-old it doesn't count that you separate only 1 year, count that you had sex with a minor and you risk the penalty,
Oh, so all lawyers, and volunteers from all horizon, who dedicate their life to children protection are evils. Good to know I guess. It's never a good look for any adult to want to be a legal expert on this.
It's not what he said, nor what Law say.Diconica is right.
Most age of consent laws in most states and countries are meant for teenagers. They do not apply to adults or anyone more than a few years older than the person giving consent if they are a minor.
Well, in a 2014 report named "Most US states limit the age difference between the two parties having sex to less than 2-4 years. So while "age of consent" may mean a 16 year old can legally consent to sex, if the person doing it with them is more a handful of years older, that person will still get arrested for sex with a minor.
it's 16 in my country of nationality and current residence tooIt's 16 here in the UK to my knowledge.
Glad you said it, I was about to say something as well since I replied to the OP and potentially the guy might have included his comment to mean me as well.Oh, so all lawyers, and volunteers from all horizon, who dedicate their life to children protection are evils. Good to know I guess.
Since I replied with a counter source regarding OP's topic are you including me in this statement?Just a tip, but the ONLY people that look up and talk about "Age of Consent" are - how should I put this - white van enthusiasts.
It's never a good look for any adult to want to be a legal expert on this.
Just to be clear I wasn't accusing you of making the mistake. Whoever made the map is at fault.I made no input in this map, it was from a web search. I posted because I've seen many discussions/comments on many threads about this.
Yes, the subset of each state varies greatly. I saw a wiki page with a great variety of ages with gender identity a factor. This is for informational purposes and discussion is warranted, but accusations are not. More sources are needed. Also, here in the USA we have places where, while things are not legal, they are also not illegal. Curiously, them may include bestiality, incest and prostitution. Although over the past few decades many of these vague states have been tightened or closed as each state, or their internal counties and communities, may have their own variations on such issues.
Indeed, even corporations have rules based on their boards beliefs.
Back to the topic, and while veracity of data is always fluid, most is sourced and can be challenged on Wikipedia, the data is laid out below. 18 is not set in stone, it is just that 18 is the age in California where most TV is made and TV sets a standard.
Ruth Bader Ginsburg stated in a hearing, "No girl under the age of 14, unless married, should engage in sex." This led many to believe she wanted to revert the USA to 19th century limits which ranged from 7-12 in states with age of consent limits.
Further, in other countries they can vary greatly, like Mexico where rural states have it set at 13, but major population centers like Mexico City are 18.

Art 609 I named above is from Italy's penal code. That's at the national level.either the google translator mistranslated, or I must have missed something...
in Italy, if an 18-year-old has sex with a 17-year-old it doesn't count that you separate only 1 year, count that you had sex with a minor and you risk the penalty, because those who have reached the age of majority are believed to have to renounce any "provocation" " as it is more "mature". Frankly, I don't know all the rest of the law for minors, but I assure you that between adults and minors, it works like this.
as regards the various crimes committed by minors, there is a separate and therefore different penal code where the aim is to educate the minor and reintegrate him into society. for this reason even those who kill their own parents, and are minors (up to 17 years old) get a very negligible sentence
You know what I mean, and it isn't that.Oh, so all lawyers, and volunteers from all horizon, who dedicate their life to children protection are evils. Good to know I guess.
Yes, white van enthusiasts was my way of trying to be funny and not just yell 'Pedophilia!!' in the chat.Since I replied with a counter source regarding OP's topic are you including me in this statement?
Also on another semi related note I assume you mean pedo when you say 'white van enthusiasts'? If so is there a causal link between owning a white van and pedophilia? If so I need to stop answering my door to Amazon drivers....
The problem is that you are on a public forum, talking to a public. Therefore, what matters is not that you know what you mean, but that readers can understand what you meant. You know what I mean, and it isn't that.
So what ?[...] but I'm old enough that a perfectly legal 18 year old girl could be my daughter, so .
My whole point is that this seems like a weird topic for a porn game site and it seems like a gross thing to be caring about if you yourself aren't the one who is a minor concerned with giving consent. So what ?
I'm old enough so a 18yo could be my grand-child (add 3 years for my son and I to be fathers at legal age), and once again I don't get what you want to tell us.
Oh, I believe pedos can be women.I also find it funny that you felt the need to precise that the 18yo could be your daughter. As if age of consent apply only for girls. Or perhaps is it not a big deal if it's a young guy that have sex with a cougar ? Unless you do believe that p*d*shits can only be males ?
Hey, I just found this whole thing super weird. At what time have it crossed your mind that we don't suddenly forget the definition of "age of consent", nor what is the said age of consent in our country, when we age ? Or that we want to refresh our memory, precisely because we have children.
