The joke is about Legend of Krystal and Breeding Season having a similar 'curse' of games attempting to respark the concept and consistently getting abandoned
You say Breeding Season, I say Monster Girl Island.
I thought of specifying 3D monster girls, but decided to generalize it instead because the whole genre, whether 2D, 3D, or pixel, has this problem.

Difference is that captivity was a tragedy, breeding season was a joke, and lok was a piece of shit.
Man I wish that game actually saw further updates, I know they slapped the book closed on it so they could avoid the dreaded "abandoned" tag, but it's really nowhere near what it should have been in terms of content.
From what you can see in some snapshots, there could have been a gallery level, the door code actually being in game, and a number of other things that just never made the cut.
Hope this one doesn't end up like that, but given the last thing added was a really limited level editor and nothing happened since, I think we might be staring down the barrel of another victim of the captivity curse.

I know this is just meant as a joke but I think the truth of the matter is this. It's not to do with the genre or inspiration of porn game that sends most into the Abandoned zone, it's that so many porn game devs just have no motivation or high aspirations, either long-term or in general, so you'll see a lot of old concepts dragged up from their graves but with none of the original's passion or memorability. It's either about money or becomes about money rather than making something people like.

I get it, game design takes a long time and is very hard, then you have to be original on top of that. But that "pay now play later" attitude doesn't fucking work for the long-term because game design is an artform before it's a job. The big companies put on the illusion well enough, but they have sufficient backing from the people who remembered when they were passionate about games.
