Its right there in the list ? ... Like before as an incentive reward.

I think ALL of the incentive rewards DLC's are something every fan of FI would love to see come true.
- Its kind as a form of stretch goals, meaning if enough fans want it, and money is high enough it will happen.
- Not exactly the same as a majority of the fans want more kissing scenes in general.
- Sadly the community behind FI is not that big, so chances for incentive rewards to happen is really slim - My best guess is "a few rich kids" needs to convince Starke to do one or two of them.
- Or perhaps Starke picks one because he himself would love to see it happen.

The list is pretty big for incentive rewards:
  • Christmas patch.
  • Fujiko’s childhood (includes Ayame’s mother).
  • Jack Solo Route. (Jack solo route and happy ending).
  • Armand’s Operation Infiltration.
  • Robert’s trust endings patch.
  • Melvin after hours.
  • Cosplay Convention Weekend.
In other news did anybody on discord notice the new channels showing up ? :coffee:

The one hope we had was for steam release to bring in people but it had barely any impact. I didn't check the steam version did Karuga maybe remove the patreon info from game? Or simply steam people don't want to support with patreon.

As it is you are right it is for current patreons to increase their support but there are few fundamental issues there :
- Can't select which DLC you want to support, are the DLC listed in order they want to make them ? It is very unlikely that people are willing to "push it" for all of them
- How long the support would need to last really - like if you want DLC X to happen and we need to reach 5k for that for how long the 5k would need to stay.
- The DLCs are kinda vague - what kind of content would be there (kinks), how many scenes roughly and maybe some outline of how story would proceed . (i think spoiling the story is ok as those routes won't be completed otherwise)

Regarding the updated roadmap, i think we lost something... beach was moved to August, was the cosplay here already ? what was moved from August hmm.

Also i believe that the "early" endings where Reobet discovers Ayame due to low trust were supposed to be part of base game? If the game completes development with trust having no actual use i'm gonna be not slightly pissed.

"The one hope we had was for steam release to bring in people but it had barely any impact." - That I do agree with. It probably put HeavenStudios on the map as a class creator of hentai games - as per the reviews on steam at least.

Considering that all the DLC of Fleeting Iris will only "eventually" come to Steam, and that many people want the most out of their money - I think it is better for folks who want this game on Steam, to rather pay the 10 USD on Patreon in December (or January depending on the delays) to get the whole game with all DLCs (And Fleeting Iris IF).
^ Just my thoughts when I see how the Steam version of this game is doing.

For "Can't select which DLC you want to support" -
I think there is a misunderstanding here about what a "patron" is
A patron supports the development of a game, does not necessarily guide what the game will turn out to be - which is (and should be) in the hands of the creator. Starke is kind enough to move the roadmap according to what people want (only for DLCs though), many creators do not allow this.

For "How long the support would need to last really" - It is difficult, ain't it?
The general reason to support HeavenStudios would be for their work, regardless of a particular DLC. So support them if you like their work, not generally because you expect some X DLC to happen -since that would require at least 150 people paying at least 10 USD to come in, which might not happen in a day (unless you can round up so many people to support HeavenStudios).

As for "The DLCs are kinda vague" - they are not part of the Story, and just expand more on the NTR nature of the game. And each DLC has it's kinks mentioned in the roadmap (don't they?)!

You did not quite understand me. I'm not talking about paying 10$ a monh - just like Zellemate said to have the DLC made at this point "few rich people" would need to fund it. Means people paying even 100$ a month, at that point you really want to know what you are getting out of it and how many of those bills you need to drop.

No the kinks are not mentioned on roadmap. Also to make it more clear - let's take Jack Solo route as example - will he bang existing girls? Will he be a macho man and have multiple girls at once? Or maybe he gets new gf that was not in the story yet? or maybe he is gonna be truly solo and only wank to other people having sex. questions question.

When I said rich I meant... rich! 100$ will not really cut it. But a couple of people throwing in 1000$ each - letting the total amount reach over 5000$ - That would kind of force the team to develop some of these incentive DLC's.
It could of cause also be 20 guys putting in 100$ each for the same result (y)

Agree, while this game is of high quality and one of the best NTR game but to expect even 100 let alone 1000 dollars is not realistic at all. Though i would say the game does deserve more support than something like Summertime Saga which has extremely unappealing artstyle but rakes in 100s of thousands easily.

I think that there is some fundamental issue here that breaks the whole chain of a person finding out about the game, liking it, going to Patreon, and then supporting.
Other much weaker projects with both less content and simpler art get a lot more support, something must be working poorly.
(while the art is a subjective thing obviously, you clearly can tell by the quality and especially the number of permutations for each scene)

So my thoughts on the reasons for people to not support:
1. They don't know about the game.
2. They can simply download it for free from somewhere, so why bother.
3. There are not enough bonuses to being a patron vs just buying the game, even if they don't pirate it.
4. They don't like the theme of the game.
5. *Super unlikely imo, but who know?* They don't like the art.

Please feel free to add to the list if you have any ideas that I've missed.

So fixing these points (or overcompensating with something else) could help bringing in more support.

1. I'm not sure how other game developers get their creations out there and known, but I'm sure there must be some venues for more advertising. This can be both paid (and advertising IS worth it if done right), or free through other circles and what not.

Updating the first post with new screenshots on f95 is also very important, even if it is hard. Maybe some more effort can be put into this? If not - dump this thread and just link it in a new one, idk.

2. While giving the game for free hoping someone will like it enough to support works thus acting as free publicity (that's what happened in my case), I'm afraid that in most cases people just take freebies and move on until more free stuff eventyually comes their way.

This can be dealt with by releasing less versions of the game for free, or with a much higher delay.

3. Tying into #2 and #1, there can be some other benefits, like custom Patreon exclusive art that doesn't even go into the game, which even if leaked will reach a different kind of non-game audience that might like it and come looking for more. The art has improved A LOT since the early days of the game, so don't neglect this part, the art is legit HOT just by itself at this point, and can be used in additional ways.

Looking into what other successful Patreon projects doing might also help increase the attractiveness.

4. Some might just dislike the cheating-ntr parts of the game, since in other works it can get very dark or depressing ("Tachibana-san-chi no Dansei Jijou" for example).

The obvious way to deal with that is diversifying the genres, but that is too late for FI. But afaik Bloodlust and Night Eternal will do just that, plus the new project with Scarlett Ann is also "harem" genre according to yesterday's podcast.

Another way is to make sure the FI's "mood" is properly conveyed, so people don't get scared off. This can be done with both #1 and #3.

5. As for the art - it is super subjective, so nothing you can do about it, imo. For example I'd really prefer Melvin to be much more fit, but hey that is my personal prefference, I dislike pot bellies in hentai.

Getting a new project with a different artist is a great move to counter this point, especially if it is an already known and talented artist that has their own fan base.

So to sum things up - #4 and #5 are naturally being taken care of already, but still need to be kept in mind as guidelines for future projects and their development. #2 and especially #1 need to be seriously looked into, while #3 should help with both and is a win-win for everyone - fans get exclusive art, new people have a chance to stumble upon something awesome they might like, artists get more ways to get their name out there and the studio (hopefully) gets new patrons.

p.s. to clarify on #3 - the art can be something like 2-3 scenes a month with 3-5 variations of clothed/undressed/getting "ready"/in-action/aftermath kind of thing where the first 1-2 get released publicly and leak across the internet, while the juicy stuff is closed and only for patrons. This is exactly how pure art Patreons work.

I add similar things in mind about the game. I would like to elaborate further on the points.

#1 is handled by cross-promotions - HeavenStudios does this very less because I like to think that Starke wants to respect the Game and the Developers of the Game he is promoting before the cross-promotions. He is a really proud and humble guy (hence the drive for perfection).

#2 is just piracy - can't be helped with much. As the game becomes more popular, it will get pirated sooner. Proof - In the beginning of 2021, HeavenStudios had dropped below $3k on patreon (to abysmal $2.7k at one point) and the game wasn't pirated for 3 whole months (as far as I can remember). And as soon as HeavenStudios reached its normal $3k+ , the game was pirated every release in a week or two. So,.

I had asked Starke about #3 on discord and he believes that it is a "bitchy" thing to reserve content for people who pay. I believe this comes from his drive to create the best Hentai games EVER! And not just for the money (which he states repeatedly in his podcasts).

#4, #5 is about personal taste so, again, can't be helped. For instance, I think the art is unique and fabulous (and every artist deserves his/her art to stand out). And I prefer it over the Japanese Anime style games.
See? It is about personal taste! :)

Just to add to point 4 -
There are 2 types of patrons of the game today - 1. Fans of HeavenStudios (Starke, community, their effort), 2. Fans of NTR (Fleeting Iris)
That being said, there is a high possibility that when BloodLust releases in 2022 - the NTR patrons will drop off, leading to a drop in revenue for HeavenStudios initially, till the Fans of the BloodLust genre get to know about the game and become patrons on Patreon.
I would like to believe that Starke knows about this possibility.

The one hope we had was for steam release to bring in people but it had barely any impact. I didn't check the steam version did Karuga maybe remove the patreon info from game?
They have to, you are forced by Steam to do it. Can't even have a link to your website if it has links for some other place where you can buy the game. You also can't undersell Steam.

Being on Steam is a blessing and a curse.

He has stated this many many many many times before. He doesn't like to shove shitty cash grabs down his patrons throats but he will have no problem advertising games that he enjoys and he believes the dev is not trying to milk people. I'm following everything that Starke suggested so far and I have zero regrets.

Right now I don't think the impact will be that big. I think the case of fan #1 right now immensely overwhelms fan #2. I feel like most people that follow Heaven Studios follow Heaven Studios, not a NTR game.

Anyone here will stop following Heaven Studios once they move away from NTR to their second game? We can do a test with a small sample size right now.

In fact, is anyone here not curious about their new project with Scarlet Ann even though it doesn't have NTR?

Ugh i didn't think about that as i don't really see patreon as selling the game... But yea if you can get on the steam to suggest your game to people you just flyyy. That is the thing behind Summer Memories from Kagura being so vastly more popular then any other of their games, not sure if they paid or it is pure algorithm but i saw it suggested multiple times. I don't have any Kagura games on steam i get them on mangagamer and now their website so the algorithm couldn't pick that up.

In regards to support for FI, it is currently second most supported NTR game and number 1 most supported from peak&total funds gained perspective. By NTR games i mean games with that focus not kink Frankensteins.
One think you guys are forgetting is that it is 7 years of development. Sure the game is huge in content but at one point people are like "well i've spent enough on this project already" we talked about this already, being four times bigger then average game doesn't mean people will spend four times as much on it.
Another thing is that as project gets older it just loses on its excitement factor. I think it's common knowledge.

I think it boils down to what they move to and if that is within peoples interests ? Even yourself i don't think you would follow if they started making gay game right?

I have no interest in Scarlet Ann game, after playing his/her first project i felt that i have played all he/she has to offer. Second game ensured i'm right. I'm also not a fan of games based on popular franchises, never played a Naruto game, porn or otherwise.

Scarlett Ann (is a girl, btw) is only an artist in external projects (at least so far), so "her games" can't be the same as long as she works with different game devs. In this case it still is a Heaven Studios game.

I said moving a way from a NTR game, not flipping the who game on its head and suddenly start doing guys on guys, I think that much is pretty obvious, they won't do that though.

It's not a Naruto game, they explained the plot in their last Podcast. Plot is too long for me to explain so:

Listen from there. It takes like 5 minutes.

Her art is repetitive and generally boring. I like boobs as any other but hers are grotesque big and rather then add actually take away from the scenes.

If its Naruto characters it is Naruto game as far as i'm concerned.
Can't watch it because i'm not giving google my ID/CC and service that i use to bypass the check doesn't work for this video.
