i am a paying backer..and i dont like this course...i couldn't even vote that poll....you cant create so much hype and ask last seconds for a merge of patches.....it is sad...i hope i can see the final version august 30

That's fine, I'm just saying putting up a countdown like it's a sure date, even for patrons, wasn't the best if pushing it back via a vote was in the cards. Again I'm not actually mad, just my opinion on how to hype a game/update. That sort of thing is better served for the full 1.0 release anyway.
I understand the complains, but the majority of paying patreons voted to delay the release so that's that.

Just a slight correction, not the "majority" voted, but the "plurality" of patreons. The poll was quite short notice, tbh.
yeah i mean ....how many voted for the merge? 20? on how many supporters? 530? i mean ..for a big decision like this you neeed to do a poll with at least one day or two day to vote....we arent always online to check the update and sometimes we miss important stuff like that...

What is this poll even ... the version is supposed to get released, they delay it by 24h ok. Then when we are in that extended time they are like "hey can we skip releasing this version?". Then 20m after it started say that "overwhelming" majority vote for skip where not even 10% of supporters voted. Vote should be on patron and shouldn't show the votes till it is done.

Also correct if I'm wrong but wasn't 1.0 supposed to be bug fixed 0.99 + Clarke route extension. All the systems were supposed to be ready for 0.99 that is why it cannibalized on the normal 2 month period of development time allocated to 1.0
The vote will obviously be in favor of skipping because those are fans voting and when the studio sounds like they need more time fans will vote to support them in that. I don't mind waiting myself, had they announced they skip the 0.99 release rather then putting up a countdown I would be more then fine with it. In those 3 months of wait not a single time I was upset about the wait but today I'm. Having a date to wait for inevitably creates the expectation of the thing happening. There is no worse date to miss then the one you set yourself.
Their release delays are meme worthy at his point. They are not baking fresh buns that you want on shelves as soon as they are out of the oven. You can give yourself some days of grace period, it will be just fine to have version on hands waiting for the release date.

i think the same way ....to much hype in these weeks ..and they should put the link to the poll on the patreon page ..not all patreons use discord..and a poll of this importance need to be put on the patreon page like the others....

Not what happened. "Hey can we skip this version" and "Does the majority of you guys are also of the opinion we should skip this version" are two completely different questions, you just worded it in a tacky way to make it sound like it was a delay and releasing it today wasn't an option.
They picked Discord because it gets an instant response which is what they needed with 24 hours to make a decision. You need a vast majority decision, not "all patreons to vote". Honestly, I don't think you know how voting works.
In the PM elections for England we had by region 43% to 47% non-voters, in all regions. Almost half of England doesn't vote for a PM but apparently 53% of the votes are enough to get a PM elected, 20% of the votes in a bit over 12 hours is not enough to make a porn decision by your standards.
Just a personal opinion, I find it really hard to be in an argumentation and give a mature and logical reply to someone that says "yare yare" but I'm trying.
The problem is that 0.99 so close to 1.0 might hurt the game. I'm sure you know why, you're just making it seem petty so it looks unreasonable for whatever attention you're trying to grab.

I'm following a game that is supposed to be the spiritual successor to Scale Gardens games and hasn't released a patch in a year. I was following YummyTiger, you know who that is? It is nice that you elaborate how elections work. How about elaborating on the impact on voting when your name is visible ? Or what impact on voters has the knowledge of the opinion of "vast majority" , especially those that are in "minority".
In what way it is supposed to hurt the game? What is the problem with releasing basically ready version 0.99 now for people that want it and those that don't want it can not download it and wait for 1.0 ?.
Also we didn't set the release date and surely there was better way of doing the change/delay then waiting for when it is due.

Phrase is however you want, call it childish or whatnot but that is how we work. We get excited for things and the closer the thing is gets the more excited we are. Proportionally to our excitement is our disappointment when we learn the thing is not happening.

I can guess what game you speak about, now you guess how much i care whatever it gets completed? There are like 5 games on patreon that i care about out of them only Iris got problems with funding.
Why is it meme worthy ? Because they did it so many times that we are expecting them to delay the release when the date is due.

Personally i cast a vote on release 0.99. The problem is that the game will have some early events changed in 1.00 ( i think they still want to redraw some scenes) and some mechanic added ( suspecius meter will come with 1.00). I admit that playing 0.99 now will cut half of the excitement when i will play 1.00 from the start ( i usually play only new part of each route with saves provided, i never started the game again from 0.8x). That said, i can't blame people for unlocking the gallery and watching scenes only, cause people can do whatever they want with their games. If they want to """ruin""" their experience, i should not judge or complain.
For the pool, i know discord is faster, but i would have chosen Patreon for that kind of pool, cause he can reach everyone. I think every patreon should read it, now only discord ones. I'm not about to start discussing politics just because I did an obvious analogy on how it works.
The same way having demos out with outdated scenes that didn't age well did. Because every time a new version is out, people don't look at it like it's under development. Most of the criticism about this game is "the game doesn't have this yet" when most of it has already been announced by the developers. Most of the mechanics you mentioned are only going live on 1.0, 0.99 might feel like another incomplete version and that's why a lot of patreons suggested to pull it and just release "the whole thing".
Now, you mention how Patreons will always vote "just release the whole thing" and that's absolutely not true. Most patches that had delays they released it in two parts and Patreons voted to release a complete part earlier and the rest of the scenes at a later date, this one is a different case and it's 15 days for the finished game. Anyone reasonable would understand the difference.

Don't twist my words i said patrons will always pick option that favors the developer. After putting up the poll Starke explains all the things that are missing not what is in patch. It clearly sounds like "we need more time".
