I'm actually half tempted to be a low tier patreon just so I can share it at VERY select sites XD

Couldn't someone just download it, then change the name and upload it again to a different website? What is so hard about leaking thsi?

They'll probably upload several versions of the game, with something to distinguish them from one another (like a line of text somewhere, or a slightly different image), re-uploading won't change that.
They'll try to narrow down the leak, by dividing their patrons in groups. But they would need more than several releases to be able to isolate a single person. And that's assuming the same user shares their game every time. Skip one or two releases and their whole effort goes down.
Just more of this guy's big talk.

They actually did something like this long time ago in the early stages. Now they are doing it again lol

So it's possible that it's just a bluff? Or is he making it look like a bluff?
I doubt it. Like the previous post said, this will happen but only for a short amount of time. Doing this sort of coding to prevent pirating is only going to make their releases take longer than they usually do. Which is 1month and 15days from what I heard.

Besides, Starke is the only I know who does this sort of thing compared to other game developers. This guy legit is trying to be protective of his game. Hell, the game isn't even completed and is still in the early stages. Fleeting Iris is supposed to have multiple storylines/worlds.

And from what I've read it's the "multiple storylines" thing that's the real reason why everything is delayed. Because the other games will use Heaven City as well, he's putting up the story flags everywhere instead of focusing on just Fleeting Iris first.

Yeah, sure, they're setting up events for the next games... Except that's not how RPG Maker works.
At the very best they're setting up a map that will be used in the future, or an NPC.

well...

"this patch will be sent in batches, that means each person will be assigned a version, while that is A LOT of work it's necessary to find out who is sharing our game in public websites and that way we can ban them and report them to Patreon. This version will be sent VIA PM! Bans will NEVER be lifted and I'll make sure to send the list of bans to every other author I know, you've been warned!"

While the last sentence seems a liitle bit, I don´t know... not quite legal?, I think this time every potential uploader wll think twice before sharing.

Interesting. Patreon bans are based on account or the credit card?
Still, it's perfectly understandable that creators want to protect their products, time and money.

Not sure if based on account or Credit card ban, But if done through pay pal you can easily make a fake Paypal just for his case and some countries have the option to link your normal debit card to paypal, so imagen people going to a bank get a debit come back and make paypal with that said debit card till they are found out. Also this is the only kid that is trying so hard. But yea it is alright I mean plenty of other dev's have been proven wrong in their bs where they try to hard to put drm and block content that they do not focus on finishing the game and then bitch how busy they were and not even bother apologizing as to why they released bare minimum content.

My guess right now is the uploaders are working together anyways to figure out differences in the batch releases to figure out what he might have changed or what system he might have implanted, My guess is a number system or a word system in the main files or something in the game world that would give em an idea in what batch the uploaders are, and i guess he is going to isolate that said batch for the sharing groups to figure out who is doing it.

June 5th - "Patch delayed one day"
June 11th - Patch released

That is a mighty long one day. That misstep becomes extra funny when you see these comments by the creator posted just over a week ago on ULMF:

"Nah it's good, patch will make it on 5th as planned."
"...by the way, we've always hit the deadline".

@userpass are you surprised? This guy is pulling this shit for like 2 years.
He lives in his own world, where his game is the biggest project in the history of hentai games. Mutes every critique on external forums, deletes every negative opinion from his Patreon page. And the saddest part is that his supporters happily gobble up every crap he serves them.
