I agree with you guys: a creator invests time and effort in their creation, people enjoy the creation, so it's only fair the creator is paid for their time and effort. No issue with this.
In fact, I did buy a few porn games, exactly for this reason: sure, I could download the game for free here, but I felt like I was able to reward the creators, so I should do it.
But I get where whatmi is coming from, when he says he's "sick and tired of everything being monetised and money focused": the internet used to be way freer some years ago.
You barely saw any paywall, or some discussion about demonetisation; it was a place where people would share things because they wanted others to enjoy them, as hobbyists, and if they got no money from that it wasn't a big deal.
Sure, they wouldn't pour 4k hours of work into a hobby, like Insomnimaniac is doing; even then, it was... refreshing, you know? And when I felt like paying back, I always asked myself how to make things others would enjoy. (By then I wasn't a programmer, but I had good grasp of HTML [this was before CSS times], so I made blog layouts for the others. For free.)
In an ideal world, creators would be paid but people would still get things for free. Sadly I don't see this happening.
TL;DR: yes, you guys are right that creators deserve to be paid, but try to understand whatmi too.
